ZERO accountability and AWFUL customer service. We left our vehicle in the exclusive care and custody of Gillman Chevrolet Harlingen for service, along with the keys. When we got the vehicle back, our daughter's iPad was missing. To make matters worse, Find My tracking shows the iPad is literally sitting at their location right now. When we brought this to the front desk, they completely brushed us off, claiming they aren't responsible because of a posted sign. A sign in a lobby does not legally absolve a business from its responsibility to handle a customer's vehicle and belongings with care while in their possession. They even tried to dodge accountability by claiming one of our kids probably dropped it in the parking lot which is impossible considering the iPad belongs to our oldest daughter who was at school and wasn't even at the dealership, and our other two are toddlers who were being carried the entire time. A dealership taking possession of a vehicle owes a basic duty of care. Instead of helping investigate an item clearly tracked to their building, they offered dismissive excuses and zero support. Absolutely unacceptable management and service. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately I did not check yelp before my husband took my car in ( 2017 Chevy Camaro convertible ). We paid for the so called warranty when purchased! This place had my car 112 days Terrible communication no calls back when promised. The top stopped going up and down and the stitching on drivers seat is coming apart. Place looks run down . We had to pay 1000 warranty only covered 600 and supposedly wouldn't cover the stitching. After 123 days of sitting on their lot and them being in and out of the car they did not even vacume or wash the darn thing. I mean come on at least be professional We will NOT return here and had one of the salesmen looking for a 3/4 ton Chevy truck for us to purchase and trade in the car and truck we have !! NOPE YOU LOST THESE CUSTOMERS The service dept here should be CLOSED !!! The only positive is that Isa is friendly. I drive a Chevy spark. Went in and informed that I had concerns with transmission and engine. I pointed out when I arrived that I needed a new terminal on the neg battery cable. They said it would take two days to completely diagnose. On the morning of day three I asked if I could pick up as they did not provide loaner cars and would be closed over the weekend . I was told they were finishing up the diagnostic and would call me as soon as they were done. One hour before closing (4pm)they let me know I could pick up. They charged me 185.00 to tell me I needed a new cable (false) battery (false) and key (not pertinent key functions) None of which were the issues I needed looked at. They said they couldn't diagnose the rest without this being fixed first. Basically they dragged their feet and then charged me to tell me something they should have said from the start "we can't diagnose with the bad terminal " I paid because they could hold my car until I did. Honestly they embody every negative stereotype about mechanics. I had the battery tested at three different places with the terminal as is and was told both are fine but the terminal would need to be replaced soon. Gillman called later to tell me it would be over 300 to change the wire when it just needed a terminal which I replaced for ten bucks. A Chevy dealership shop should have a spare battery for diagnostics. Seems evident they didn't actually do anything. Taking it to a different dealership the next town over. Would take it to my regular mechanic but unfortunately warranty will not work with him directly. Should also mention there was a recall that I approved to be completed that they did not do. read more

My parents do not have transportation to get to and from their doctor's appointments. Fortunately, their friends from church have been helping them out. I was just there this morning not more than 45 minutes ago to set up an appointment for my wife's truck. A young man directed me to the service department to a rude lady there who was wearing a purple shirt, short hair with glasses and blue jeans. She was on her phone I'm guessing social media because she sure didn't even acknowledge me there. A technician walked in and told her that I needed assistance with setting up an appointment. She felt she needed to get back to work filling out a service order which didn't take her long to finish because she was more than sure done with but I guess being on her phone was more important. She asked me if needed anything, and I simply replied that I needed to schedule an appointment for service. She then pointed to another area in the service department and rudely told me to talk to the clerk there. I guess the lady sitting behind the front desk was the one she was referring me to. Which was the same lady that didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in the door because she was busy I'm thinking. I guess one there is busy when they're on their phones or just sitting pretty behind a computer desk not doing anything. I guess work ethic's is not a priority there or morals. I definitely do not recommend this place of business to anyone looking for service on their vehicles because apparently work ethic's is not a priority there. The same place is with the one in San Benito as well. My wife was judged by her appearance when she walked in to try and get an appointment set with them. Both secretaries there judged her by her appearance. It was her day off and just to let you know we both retired at an early age because of excellent work ethic's and morals. We started new careers and have progressively advanced in our new careers because of our work ethic's and morals. If you don't like your job maybe you should have tried harder in school rather than taking the easy way out, because apparently it got you nowhere. They're THIEFS AND LIERS!! They also do "yo-yo financing" which is illegal in Texas.They say you're approved from a bank and have "been in talks" with them all day after sending in your information. Apparently they "got the approval" and we signed and traded in our vehicle. Come to find out a MONTH later that apparently it wasn't approved and they sold our vehicle!! They claimed they "did check employment" when in fact they're LAZY and did not do so. (We have proof!) then they come 8 hours to where we live and steal the car and do not give us our trade in back or the money for it. Now we're left without a vehicle and they have both!!! I brought my vehicle in for an appraisal; during the test drive, the dealer employee destroyed the transmission (given the age of the vehicle, I would expect this totals the vehicle.) When I asked if I could talk to the driver who test-drove my car, I was told they didn't even know who it was. They deflected blame, telling me that it was an old car, and sometimes they just break like that (I had brought the car to another dealer this morning, and their test drive showed absolutely no drivetrain issues at all.) And besides, how could I have driven here in a car that won't even shift into first gear? In the end, they finally offered to buy the car for a price well below the KBB Instant Cash Offer, and since the car was broken down in their parking lot, there wasn't much else I could do. (After they called a rideshare to get me home since my vehicle was undriveable, they even deducted the cost of that from their offer.) Nonetheless, we were not very happy with the service: Had us run around for a recall part, did not document the oil Change in the national database ( therefore doesn't show up in any other dealership), and customer service was not of high quality ( short answered, inattentive). I had a 930 appointment Friday morning, 1/29/2021 at Gillman Chevrolet, Harlingen. I arrived at 915 and met with Service Advisor Albert. He was attentive, friendly, very courteous & professional. I informed him I had an appointment at 930 for oil change service including tire rotation. I presented him with a coupon for the same which I had printed off of their web site that morning.He informed me that my vehicle would require more oil than the amount stated on the coupon and the additional cost was about $10. I agreed and waited. The service was complete just before 11AM. He explained the charges which were in order. I paid and got in my vehicle to head home. The previous week I had a left front tire repaired at another shop. That technician overinflated the tire to about 40PSI. I checked the tire pressures and discovered that the left front was still 40PSI. The other tires had the proper PSI 32/35. Obviously the tires were not rotated. I advised Albert and without hesitation he offered to correct it immediately or schedule another appointment. I needed to get to another appointment and declined. This has happened to me in the past at other vendors here and in the Houston area. Consumers be aware and make sure you are getting what you pay for. The sales person and the manager cornered me and literally was trying for me to agree on their terms and whatever i said meant nothing of value only theirs. It was scary; I will not be returning to this particular dealership due to my observations. Employees are careless and not practicing social distancing. Service team members are playing around on manual scooters with one another during working hours in the back. One female employee wasn't wearing masks when talking to the customer as she chose to take it off. There are no plastic barriers anywhere, and the service area offices are tiny. Employees kept coming in and out of the area over and over again. However, not one single employee greeted me until I finally had to find someone to assist me. Five employees passed in front of me for 20 minutes before asking me if I needed help; they just kept on with their day. I stepped out due to feeling unsafe and waited outside the building. I will not be returning to this establishment that does not put the safety of its customers first. Fiesta Chevrolet is far safer than your dealership. During this pandemic and with the severity of the new variants, I find it very irresponsible of your organization not to take the necessary precautions to protect your customers and staff equally. I left a message for the service manager on 1/29, I have yet to hear back from him to address my concern. In 2011 I purchased a used 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 with the Duramax diesel. After about 2 months, the transfer case went out because there was no oil in it. I went back to the dealership to inquire about the 150 point inspection and their satisfaction guarantee, but I was shown a paper that showed the transfer case WAS NOT on their list and therefore was not covered by their "guarantee". They told me, not so politely, that I could call the owner if I didn't like it. I will NEVER buy another vehicle from Gillman and neither will any of my family. Buyers Beware!!! read more

I had a scheduled appointment for 8:30 for a simple oil change. Two and a half hours later my car is finally done. And then when I get home the service agreement is under somebody else's name luckily they did charge me for my vehicle but they put a wrong name on the service order so no unfortunately I wasn't all that thrilled with the service, I will probably take the car back there in hopes that the service levels will return to the standard that it was before where they would at least check in with you every half hour or so to give you a status on your vehicle. read more

Received recall re: passenger seat of my '09 Chevy Impala. Called Gillman at 9AM and they scheduled the repairs for 11A which was to take 45 minutes. One and a half hours later, still no car. Staff informed me that mechanic not started working my car; but, I could take my car if I wanted to go to lunch and return. No....I wanted them to finish the job. I went to the Service Manager's office to confront him about the issue and he babbled that I could not take the car as they had already started it. I knew that neither knew what was happening. I let them have it and I had my car in 15 minutes. They said the issue had been fixed; but, not before my blood pressure hit the roof and my diabetic body was trembling as I needed to eat. I WILL NEVER RETURN NOR RECOMMEND THIS AGENCY. Very poor customer service, they couldn't even get their lies together.
