The artist and owner of Turtle Ridge Gallery, Mary Ellen Sisulak, makes a lot of the items in the boutique. You'll can purchase her leather handbags, accessories, home decor and wearable art. She also sells goods from local artists and artisans around the area. My favorite part of my visit was seeing what Mary Ellen was working on in her studio, and hearing about her inspiration for her art pieces. I noticed that a lot of her art included dragonflies, and she had mentioned that the area is home to one of the most dense populations of dragonflies in the country. I love that she pulls inspiration from her surroundings in Door County.

Hot tip on getting in: send one person to check in at the front desk as early as you can in the morning to get your group added to the list because it's usually an hour to two hour wait for breakfast/brunch. While you're waiting, enjoy the Swedish delights in the gift shop, the enormous green lawn space and seating, walk around Sister Bay and of course admire the goats on the roof! Once you are in, enjoy the food, I'm never disappointed. Personally, I have to order the Swedish meatballs and Swedish pancakes combo every time to get a little bit of sweet and a little bit of savory and a full plate of delicious. I think it might be a little easier to get in for dinner and they have a great outdoor space for drinks, bites, and live music in the evenings! This is really a Sister Bay and Door County MUST stop.
