A fellow rider on his way home from the track stopped and asked if we were okay. After explaining our current mechanical situation with my Dyna to the good samaritan, he suggested that I call Tim. I explained my situation to Tim and at first he couldn't find me a lever. He explained to me that a lever from a Honda quad has the same splining and that it should work to get me to Phoenix. He then calls me back a minute later and said that he had found one in the driveway of his pad and that he was on his way. My mind was blown, this guy didn't know me at all and he was going to bring me a part so that I could could continue on my journey. He shows up ten minutes later, slaps the lever on and tells me safe travels. I shake his hand, offer him cash and a double double from In and Out. He respectfully declines and sets off on his way. Really cool guy, I'm going to make an attempt to check out his shop on my way home to San Diego in a couple of days. The simplest ones you just turn the grips and go. the next has a couple of automatic gears and the next up you can shift the gears. Tony includes the helmets and will give your kid a lesson to learn what the quad can do. The 1/2 day or full day price is fair and reasonable, as is the security deposit. He also has 2 wheel mini-bikes. Located at the corner of Hwy 78 and Split Mountain Road in Ocotillo Wells, you can see the sandy mountain riding area from Tony's business, and the quads get there by riding alongside the airport landing strip and into the off-road vehicle site, which is marked. There is also a trail all the way around the airport. I have always been curious about what this shop was all about so i decided to pop in one day. Joe greeted me upon my entry and i found hom to be very knowlegable and friendly. This place really needs to be twice its size because there is so much inventory crammed into a small space. But dont let thay stop you. He has a great variety of bikes and in so many colors..Although i was not in the market to buy a bike, i learned so much about them that i didnt know before, and Joe was very cordial and took his time to answer all my questions.
