It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. Thanks to Visiting Angels I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use them again when and if the need arises. I know it's costly for home care,but we both agreed that these friendly folks would help us out.Price was not a problem.We made an appointment for the meet and greet home evaluation and get to know our new team members and our assistants.No one showed up at the appointmeant that they promised us in the beginning.I guess that $200,000 set aside for his companionship and round the clock care went down the drain. The other service gave us Aimee's phone number, and it was amazing. Aimee understood immediately what we needed, and offered to visit us right away, in less than an hour she was there. I was a bit concerned, after all, 3 gay men dealing with to Catholic ladies... I had no reason to be concerned at all. Aimee was not just professional, but caring and understanding, and we got a caregiver who was also a gay man, so my friend felt more at ease. The team made by Pablito, Ninfa and Rosemarie was very professional, always on time and made our friend's life much easier. They became like family, gave him professional care, allowed us to have more time for ourselves and rest knowing our friend's needs were being take care of. Our friend died recently, leaving a huge hole in our lives, we miss him, and we are sad, but we are also happy and in peace because with Kindred at Home, he had professional care, he had lovely , kind people helping him, every day. He became stronger, he gained weight and was healthier, before he died. My super Dad, who will be 90 soon, is the main reason she's still around and healthy. But he just survived a mild stroke and physically, he's not as strong as my Mom. As their children, we spent a lot of time helping them but with dementia, it's a very difficult and emotionally exhausting ordeal to handle. We were beyond lucky to have found J&M Home care service; especially Susan. Susan is a super bright lady who has a deep sense of compassion, empathy, patience and the knowledge of the disease. Within a couple months under Susan's care, both my parents' health have improved significantly. My Mom seems so much happier and those moments of her feeling frustrated and feared have reduced significantly. With My Mom's health improving, it has helped my Dad and the rest of us feeling so much lighter and happier.
