The two coaches, Ryan Castillo and Bruce Chacon, welcome anyone from "I've never trained a day in my life" to "I'm an experienced professional" and give everyone the same amount of respect, attention to technique and motivation. Workouts are designed to be high intensity and consist of high volume with a combination of body weight and kettle bell oriented workouts but you're welcomed to train at your own pace! Even if you're looking to get an intense cardiovascular workout or learn how to defend yourself, you'll be gaining invaluable knowledge from experienced professionals and you'll develop a greater self-confidence and respect from your peers! The idea of joining a "martial arts gym" can be intimidating, but I promise once you give this gym a try, you'll be inviting everyone you know to be a part of the family too!

Muay Thai has been life saving and an outlet for my busy and stressful work life. Beautifully violent has created a safe and supported space for me to meet new people, learn life saving skills (self defense), and develop a love for a sport I never knew I needed. The coach's are very supportive and accommodating to new members and have worked hard in creating an environment of family. Coach Ryan and coach Bruce teach with heart and patience. Best decision I made was to be part of this gym!

Her workouts are tough but so much fun, and I've become noticeably stronger and more fit because of her classes. She's not only supported my fitness journey but has also become a great friend and source of encouragement. Kaya is attentive, kind, knowledgeable, strong, motivating, and deeply understanding of each person's physical ability. She pushes you to be better and stronger, while always offering modifications when needed. As she often says, "It hurts so good." Jordan, the owner and instructor, is both a wonderful person and an exceptional coach. His classes are fun, engaging, and heavily focused on proper form. He's the coach who ingrained in me the importance of always keeping my hands up--something that's now second nature. Jordan is kind, funny, and incredibly understanding. Over time, I've faced many personal challenges--family, work, finances, and mental health--and he has consistently supported me through it all. Thanks to his encouragement and generosity, I've been able to stay committed to the gym during both the good and the difficult times. I'm truly grateful for the unwavering support he and Kaya have provided me. I highly recommend trying classes with all the coaches--each one brings a unique approach to boxing form, technique, and workout intensity. You're bound to find the right fit for your personal goals. I'm incredibly thankful to have found JFM and to be part of such a welcoming, friendly, and fun environment. The community here fosters a culture of inclusivity, as well as both physical and mental empowerment.

We decided to enroll our four-year-old son in the program as well, and everything went smoothly during that process. Arrangement was month-to-month, price is fair, and the facility and program came highly recommended from other professionals in the area that I trust deeply. As the weeks have passed bringing my kids to class, I pivoted from LA fitness, and my core focus on adult basketball league and hoopin, and decided to sign up for personal boxing classes. After a couple of classes in, I'm slowly improving at the footwork and pivoting/shifting weight, and I'm feeling more confident.. I run a large and successful organization, which includes a sales team that's highly focused on customer service and execution... And, I've been shown nothing but respect and excellent customer service, when it comes to working with Ekata. I trust my own personal training and health, as well as my kids, in their program. Let's go!!!

5/5 : Today was my 3rd class at BoxUnion and I'm loving it!…read moreI first tried it through a ClassPass trial. Parking is easy with validation (1 hr 15 mins) in the structure... just don't go over or you'll lose it. Street parking works too if you're early. When you arrive, you will need to check-in. There's always been different receptionists each time and they have been kind. There are small lockers at check-in, and large mirrors, showers, hair ties, lotion, shaving cream, q-tips, and a hair dryer in the restroom. Our instructor, Omar, is very personable and makes newcomers feel welcome. He announced he now only teaches BoxUnion Burn (1 Hr) at 10:45 AM on Saturdays. I was nervous at first, especially seeing the dark room, LED lights, and loud music. I get overstimulated easily, but they offer ear plugs and I liked how spacious it was. You'll need to rent gloves and wraps ($10-15 each) unless you bring your own. After my first class, I invested in them and a ClassPass membership (they have their own too) since I only come once a week and don't live nearby. The class includes punching combos, HIIT, ab work, and freestyle. Omar took the time to correct my form. Highly recommend stretching beforehand. Haven't tried other instructors, but if you prefer focusing on form, ask if any trainers offer personal sessions. I highly recommend this class if traditional gyms aren't your thing or you just want to hit something for funzies :b! Side note: I have personal beef with the trash can at the women's restroom exit... that flap + photo credit to my sister who's been here longer.

I can't say enough of how grateful I am to the Owner and Master Trainer Diego Lopez for his support…read moreand direction in helping me achieve my weight/health goals!!! He is not only a trainer but a motivator! Although it is a class setting, Diego makes it feel like a private session -- he knows everyone's name and sees EVERYTHING you are doing!!! He is truly gifted and his motivational speeches through the workout pushes me to give 110% even when I feel like giving up. I've been with Suicide Boxing since 2010 but due to an accident in 2016 I was sidelined and gained 50 pounds. I was able to return to Suicide Boxing in January 2017 and needed to shed this excess weight. Diego put me on a plan where I had to lose 1-pound per week and weigh in every Monday. The stipulation was if I didn't lose 1-pound a week I owed him 100 burpees or 100 squats. Yes, I owed him a few times :-). I'm happy to report as of January 10, 2018, I've lost a total of 37 pounds, a gang of inches and close to 8% body fat! Check out the pics!!! Diego is amazing and his main message is about living a healthy lifestyle. What sticks with me the most is when he says, "it's up to you -- it's about consistency in the gym and consistency with a healthy diet! And working out 1 hour per day is only 4% of your day!" Whomever is reading this review if you want a physical and mental transformation then come check out Diego at Suicide Boxing...aka "House of Pain" you will not be disappointed ;-) This place is the truth!!!
