Baked goat cheese dip with banana peppers and pita bread
    Jessica R.

My friend and I stopped here before a show at the rave for a quick bite and a drink. The server/bartender was great and super attentive. We ordered a gin Rickey cocktail along with truffle fries and the baked goat cheese dip. The truffle fries were delicious with a hint of truffle flavor and the dip was yummy as well. The goat cheese went well with the banana peppers and paired well with the pita bread. The bar was nice with plenty of seating and appeared to be clean. Perfect place to stop before a show at the rave - I'll definitely be back!

Beautiful venue,, and great service. We just happened to stop in during happy hour. So we got half price shareables and BoGO Gin Rickey. I'd recommend getting the jelly on the side of the curds as I wasn't a fan. But everything else was delicious! Kathy was a great face for the business because she was very friendly and me being the only person in the place we had a conversation down memory lane because we both lived in the same area and and share the same experiences so the conversation flowed. My drink of choice is the Gin Rickey so I decided to stop by the bar called Gin Rickey and have a Gin Rickey. This is a nice bar in the old Art Deco Ambassador hotel which is almost 100 years old. The bar itself is very nice but not over the top nice and just right with that old elegant flavor from the past, basically it's a great fit for the Art Deco building. Kathy introduced me to the locally made small batch gin from Milwaukee Wi called Rehorst gin made by Great Lakes Distillery which was very good. Overall it's a nice bar to have a great cocktail and since there was no other patrons in the place to talk to Kathy's great personality turned my first impression of let's go into let's stay for a bit.

This is the dishwasher at the hotel ambassador used for Gin-Rickey - I'm a former employee. Not disgruntled or sour grapes - this is about cleanliness and health/safety. Please avoid.

Nice place. Had a Mezcal drink and the spicy chicken sandwich. Has a cool 20s vibe to it. The bartender is very nice and friendly. The mezcal drink was smoky and hit the mark. The spicy chicken sandwich was delicious. And can't beat the coolness of the Ambassador hotel. If you live in Milwaukee, def check this place out.

Looks like bean chili. Tasted like pure salt. I ordered Zuppa. This is NOT zuppa. The wait staff insisted it was.

My husband and I were staying at the hotel and wanted to get a bite to eat. We had been told by the wait staff that we could sit anywhere (the restaurant side or the bar side) because it was all the same. We had our room key that had the 25% off of your bill if we dined with them. My husband got a steak with potatoes and broccoli while I ordered the zuppa tuscana. I was served my soup right away. I went to give it back right away claiming I didn't order chili. She quickly responded that it was indeed Zuppa. I explained what zuppa was and a quick Google search would show it is NOTHING like this chili I was served. She claimed that this is the only way she's EVER seen Zuppa made. I highly doubt it. I took 2 bites and it was so salty I could have killed snails with it. I gave it back. It was not charged to our bill after I explained again it was definitely NOT zuppa and it was unedible. If they wanted me to show them REAL zuppa I could go to their kitchen and make it for them. My husband gets his order. It was plain. No seasonings. A rabbit could have put that plate together. It was a slab of steak (I will say it was cooked to the way he wanted it) small potatoes steamed and a broccoli slice that looked slightly grilled on 1 side. No seasonings or anything. It was just cooked, but not presented well at all. For the prices we were paying as well as the kitchen staff they claim to have, it was far from culinary art. If I can make it better at home and I don't have a culinary degree, I'm disappointed. If I go to a nice restaurant, I expect same or better food than what I can prepare myself. HUGE disappointment. Then to top it off. At the end of our dining experience, we go to pay the bill and present our 25% off room key for our bill. We were told by the staff, sorry we can't honor that because we are the bar not the restaurant. We explained how we were told by their hostess that we could dine on either side and it was the same thing. So sorry, we have different promotions. By the way, the restaurant area is literally two steps away across the hall in a small room. It was like saying, if you sit at the Olive garden bar it's different than the booth seating behind you in the restaurant. We will never eat there again.

Not great... weak watered down and not as the menu described ... or like prior experiences. Time of day and day of week should not matter.

Our tea package was a gift and as first timers we weren't sure what to expect. We had the option of a mimosa or prosecco to start. While sipping on our prosecco, our tea butler stopped by to present the teas. She did a great job describing everything, it was hard to pick! I went with a tangerine ginger, and my sister went with the vanilla. We both took her recommendations for infusions. You receive a generous amount of tea. The presentation of snacks and treats is beautiful. We had the luxe menu and enjoyed everything. An extra bottle of prosecco had been tacked on and when we were ready, staff popped it open and kept it chilled next to our table. The pianist was lovely. Played great music and also did a round of happy birthday. We were celebrating my birthday so I was gifted a slice of carrot cake which was delicious. While this isn't something you would do all the time, we are already looking forward to coming back for another birthday celebration.

We knew Brownstone would be the perfect place to celebrate. All positive feedback! 1. Cleanliness and Management The establishment is always clean. I was to witness the owner personally wiping down tables and adjusting furniture. Seeing an owner take such visible pride in their business and never being "too good" to work really stands out to me and sets a great tone for the venue. 2. Happy Hour, Drinks, and Vibe Their happy hour is absolutely amazing, with affordable prices and great options. It normally stops at 7:00 PM, but they extended it until 9:00 PM last night! The drinks were made to order, arrived shortly after ordering, and tasted great. They weren't so strong that you couldn't enjoy them, but they definitely packed a punch. The atmosphere was flawless thanks to the staff and 2 DJs who kept the music upbeat and perfect. The entire crowd was having a time, singing along on cue and swaying to the music. 3. The Food We ordered pasta and happy hour appetizers, and everything was delicious. From presentation to taste, the kitchen delivered exactly what we were hoping for. I have absolutely no complaints. It was another fantastic experience celebrating a great holiday with an even better crowd. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! In fact, I might even head back after Summerfest this weekend!

Hubsy gushed about this bar enough that I resisted until Saturday night when I felt restless. Inside, Two is a low-lit neighborhood bar. There's a fair number of large tables for groups and the booths noted by other reviewers behind bead curtains. Two glows like the inside of a supernatural heart. Warm, red, and playing some solid music -- some I recognized (Death Cab for Cutie) and others I didn't (the bluesy tune). There's a jukebox. The location: Located next to its flashier cousin, Art Bar, it's easy to miss Two. About 3-4 blocks west of Humboldt on Burleigh, use Art Bar as your landmark. There's plenty of unmetered street parking on Burleigh or the residential streets. The service: When we walked in, we were greeted immediately by the bartender. She also asked if we had ever been there before. Based on the people who came in after us, my guess is that she knows the regulars. Very cool. The drinks: My first sip of Dark and Stormy was all rum. I didn't mind, so when I stirred, it was perfectly balanced. Good ginger beer, good rum. The Moscow Mule Hubsy got was sweeter than my drink which was surprising but delightful. Each of our drinks were $8.50. I didn't pay attention to the beer specials, but maybe next time. Next time: I'll probably stay longer to do some people-watching and writing. Maybe I'll check out the beer.

The common vibe is retro quirk and Two is the ultimate in decor. Be sure to check out the cute two-seater booths behind the curtains. The event pricing and catering is quite reasonable. They offer a great balance of veggie friendly and omnivore options. We went for their artichoke dip (so good!), little pigs in blankets (super popular with the crowd), bruschetta (excellent, fresh), General Tso's style chicken sliders (people raved), pork sliders (I heard good noises), a salmon sandwich and a Mediterranean veggie sandwich (very good). The food was a hit. I think some of the bread got a little overly firm and the salmon was a tad fishy, but everything else was amazing. Kudos to the staff for bringing us to-go containers for the excess. My guests were thrilled. We went with an open bar system, up to a limit and provided our guests with our own drink tickets. Our dedicated bartender, Erin, was super. She was friendly and patient, even though our 20 guests kept her hopping the whole time. Since the ice cream drinks are time-intense, we might have benefited from a bar back to help her out. The one problem, that couldn't be resolved, was terrible AC and no air flow. My fun, retro-elegant cocktail party was filled with hot, sweaty guests. I was disturbed to hug all comers with visible perspiration. Ack. They really, really, really need to upgrade the cooling. I love this place, but that was wilting. Still, a good time was had by all. Kudos for having CBD and non-alcoholic options to cover the spectrum,
