My husband heard about this place and was excited to bring me to check it out. We had a full day planned on a Saturday and it began around 2 pm with our first stop here at dream lab. We were greeted by Shawn, our barista who had friendly, chill vibes. We asked for his suggestions and ended up choosing the pistachio latte and the espresso drink. Shawn told us to find a seat, I was delighted to see there were tons of spots to choose from. We ended up sitting on the main floor at a very large wooden table that would be perfect for playing games with a large group of friends or family. Shawn promptly delivered our drinks and they were delicious. Besides the drinks, the music and ambience were great and we especially liked the gift area with art, t-shirts, books and more. Dream Lab is such a unique and refreshing space in Milwaukee. My husband and I had the pleasure of chatting with Shawn, the owner and creative mastermind behind this awesome space. DreamLab is super inviting, and the love for other creatives is evident as soon as you walk in. He carries intention candles, oils, jewelry, crystals and several other things you can purchase from local artists. DreamLab also has a bar so you can order lattes (try the signature latte, it's delicious!), order some craft beer, or grab some snacks (pizza & chips). We were welcomed and given a tour of the space when we dropped in on a regular weekday. Shawn's vision for the space is amazing, and his murals showcasing his talents are found throughout. I can't believe that I let so much time pass before actually writing my review. DreamLab is quite the concept. It's a coffee bar and hookah lounge. The concept alone is fascinating. I loved the vibe of the place. The music was relaxing and allowed me to focus intensely. The place even offers some alcoholic beverages if you wanna have a little "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" sip. The place screams expression. There's art all over. My favorite piece has to be a gauche painting of Wednesday Adams. I highly recommend looking at that artwork. read more

Cozy and artsy coffee house with character in Walker's Point. We went to their grand opening on 1/27/18 and the place was inviting and welcoming right away. Have a coffee beverage or a chai, or a beer! Read, chat, paint...enjoy! The owner told us they plan to have an open space area for painting and related art projects. They have a selection of paintings on the wall that you can admire and/or purchase. Gender neutral restrooms, close to several bus lines, and just overall cool! Dream Lab opened today (Jan 27, 2018) and is a great addition to Walker's Point. The concept is a combination of coffee house and art studio. You can just hang out and enjoy a beverage (they serve craft beers in addition to the usual coffee house fare), or you can pull out paint and brushes to create something amazing. There is a connected building at the rear which owner Shawn is converting to a larger studio space which will open in several months. The art hanging on the walls is all done by local artists (with two exceptions for the opening) and Dream Lab will hold weekly contests for the best art created here. (For example, there are markers available at the bar for people to doodle on their coffee cups, with each week's best doodle winning a free coffee.) Even the walls and ceiling are covered with artistic flourishes, further differentiating it from a typical coffee house. Large front windows (the space originally belonged to a barber shop) look out on National Avenue and Bradley Tech across the street, inspiring artists with a nice sample of Walker's Point local neighborhood flavor. A lot of effort has clearly been invested in Dream Lab. Whether you're a local artist, or just want to relax and observe the artistic process, Dream Lab is worth checking out. read more

I came to Dream Lab for the first time ever on Thursday after being referred by a friend who is a frequent visitor. I can say with confidence that Dream Lab has quickly become one of my favorite local spots in Milwaukee. I have been back three times since Thursday because I have had such a great experience. Dream Lab has something for everyone, whether you are looking for coffee, drinks, hookah, local art or even a place to get some work done. As someone who is 21 months sober from alcohol I can say it is difficult at times to find places in the city that are very inclusive to non-alcohol drinkers and I am excited to share that the owner Shawn has created an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and can have a great time. I am absolutely going to be a regular here and cannot wait to share this hidden gem with my friends and coworkers. Artwork around the place is very good, however, I believe the "dream" may be near ending and reality is setting in. Tried this place twice. First time it was empty so we pretty much left since we had no reason staying since it was awkward. 2nd time it was as if only the owner's friends were there, making it a very weird vibe...like why not just have them over your house if you are not going to cater customers. Owner needs to start trying before his "dream" becomes a nightmare! read more
