We went to Blu for afternoon tea and it was incredible. From the moment we walked in and saw the amazing view of the city, we were hooked. We were seated by the window. Our tea package was a gift and as first timers we weren't sure what to expect. We had the option of a mimosa or prosecco to start. While sipping on our prosecco, our tea butler stopped by to present the teas. She did a great job describing everything, it was hard to pick! I went with a tangerine ginger, and my sister went with the vanilla. We both took her recommendations for infusions. You receive a generous amount of tea. The presentation of snacks and treats is beautiful. We had the luxe menu and enjoyed everything. An extra bottle of prosecco had been tacked on and when we were ready, staff popped it open and kept it chilled next to our table. The pianist was lovely. Played great music and also did a round of happy birthday. We were celebrating my birthday so I was gifted a slice of carrot cake which was delicious. While this isn't something you would do all the time, we are already looking forward to coming back for another birthday celebration. read more

I can't believe I've lived my entire life in Milwaukee and yesterday was the first time visiting not just Blu, but stepping inside the Pfister. The hotel is a perfect blend of historic charm and modern elegance that makes it a must see for any traveler coming into Milwaukee. Once inside, find the elevators that take you to the 23rd floor and you won't be disappointed. The city views are absolutely incredible. Located on the top floor of the Pfister hotel, Blu has a very classic, intimate feel with amazing views the city. I also appreciate the comfortable seating options. We were lucky to visit on a rainy evening which definitely fit the vibe. Although on the pricier side of drinks in town, they offer very unique cocktail options. I tried the blueberry lavender press, which was very flavorful and not too sweet. I'm a big fan of gin paired with any fruit, so I'd recommend it. Blu is beautiful, but this time of year you gotta be aware that it's a lot of holiday parties and private events and their hours may be wrong. Other than that, the views, ambiance, and drinks here are phenomenal. Service is good at the bar but a bit slow at the tables. I love their cranberry fizz and the fireside bourbon. The setting is perfect for so many occasions, and it's a place to bring out of towners you want to treat to views and great cocktails. 10/10 service. We did not really wait for seating but there were only 2 of us so it was a faster wait. Walking through the Pfister during Christmastime is an experience in itself so this is a fantastic and cozy place to spend the evening. What to say that hasn't been said, it's a classy joint with a classy view and they play jazz. If that's your vibe you're gonna love it, if that seems snooty you probably won't. Price matches the view, you pay $4-5 more a drink for being 4-5 hundred feet higher in the air, seems fair to me. Personally I'm fine paying a buck to stay several floors away from the more spiritual inhabitants of the Pfister hotel Lotta suits during the daylight hours, makes for great people watching. Service has always been very friendly but can be slow, much like most good cocktail bars. Weirdly good food menu for snacks? The rosemary salt popcorn slaps. read more

I was here for a United Way fundraising event and tried two drinks, the blueberry lavender Press and the non-alcoholic peach blossom, but they ran out of peach syrup so I tried the mango version of the blossom I'm a big fan of the blueberry lavender press. You should try this when you come here. I also tried the kettle popcorn, which is a nice little touch to eat with your drink and having a nice conversation. Service wise I couldn't comment too much since it was a fundraiser event and didn't interact too much with the bartender's personally but overall a cool hip bar to stop at before heading to an event or just a casual social read more

I love this little cocktail lounge at the Pfister, a great place to mingle with friends, enjoy milwaukee views, and grab a drink. We stopped by for a drink and a snack during our afternoon downtown, a dirty martini and old fashioned, no complaints. We also ordered the Parmesan chips, pretty good, but a little pricey. When we got there, it wasn't too busy and we got a prime spot near a window to enjoy some great views on the east side. I have been coming here once in awhile, but as of lately the furniture is getting a little worn, specifically the couches, and may need updating soon. Otherwise lots of seating. Our waitress we attentive but not too frequent, which I enjoyed, it gave us a chance to talk. I mean come on, what's not to love!? Okay besides the menu prices, but you get what you pay for here! Always a great experience and great cocktails. We had dinner reservations booked down the street, so decided to stop at Blu for some drinks ahead of time. Being a Friday night, they had live jazz music starting at 7pm. My husband and I arrived just before then so we were able to grab a seat at one of the booth tables that faces the windows overlooking the city. In case you missed it: this swanky venue is on the 23rd floor and offers sweeping views. They have QR menus at the table, but a sweet waitress was also circling around to offer recommendations and printed menus as needed. I already had it in my mind before we arrived that I wanted an espresso martini - assuming they served those - and gosh golly it was probably the best one I've ever had, ever. So smooth. Perfectly chilled. Not too intense on the bitterness. All around just right. So, I had two! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his old fashioned as well. We figured we'd also have ourself a little something to snack on while enjoying our drinks and the fabulous jazz music. Their mini menu offers chips, cheese, olives, and popcorn. All fancier then they sound. We went for the "olive oil bathed castelvetrano olives," which were mixed with had lemon, garlic and peppers spices. We laughed out loud at the wildly large portion, but absolutely no complaints there! It's not often we make our way to Blu, but every time it really is a treat. Oh and the bonus this time of year!? This bar is simply amazing. As an out of towner, I tagged along with some friends who promised amazing views of the city. Unfortunately I was there when some bad rain storms came in and it was a small adventure getting to Blu. Once we made it to the Pfister, we went up to Blu and were greeted by some amazing music as soon as we exited the elevators. The music definitely drew us in and it was a busy Saturday night, so it took us about 20 minutes or so to snag a table. I ordered the Hibiscus 75 and it was delicious. I enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at the Blue at the Pfister celebration International Women's Day early with Tea. The server explained to us the 13 different tea blends and recommended tea infusions depending on what we were looking for. I chose the hibiscus plum tea which is tart fruity and very delicious. The tea offering came with a decadent offering of finger sandwiches and sweet pastry. The caviar finger sandwich was to die for and the fruit custard tartlet went very well with the tea. They instructed us on food pairings a d took very good care of us. It is such a great ambience with live piano music and the beautiful beautiful vistas of Lake Michigan. Blu was a great experience! My girlfriend and I both loved the cocktails we had, and they definitely gave us a good amount of alcohol in the drinks, which was a plus. They a pricey drinks ($18 per cocktail), however it is a very nice bar in a very nice hotel right downtown so that is to be expected. The ambiance was great! Quiet and romantic, a great place for a date as you can definitely hear each other over the music. And the seating is in an open area, but still relatively private. The service was okay, but we were there on a Wednesday and it seemed that there was only one server going around to tables, so it took a while to order and pay, but it didn't make the experience awful by any means. The best part of the experience for me was the amazing skyline city views. I would definitely recommend checking it out! read more

My husband & I made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary on Sat July 18th @ 9:30p. Prior to coming into the Blu all guests must wear masks before entering which is great & all employees wore their masks as well. We were told our waitress would come soon but we waited awhile before anyone came & was going to leave. When our waitress finally came she was pleasant but we noticed our waitress was the bartender. We assumed they were short staff because our waitress had our table on top of handling the bar. We had to wait awhile for our waitress to come back to order another drink & told her right away we wanted our check. We were disappointed since we were celebrating our special day & did not get the service we deserved. When someone mentioned it, we all jumped at the chance to catch up, especially after a year that everyone has had. A reservation is needed for reason make sure you do that! Blu is one of the best spots in downtown MKE for drinks. Not only is the Pfister a beautiful building, but for Blu you go to the top floor and it's all windows to overlook the beautiful city. The drinks are spot on. Definitely more expensive to go there, but it's worth it because of the ambiance and live music. The only thing I will say is to make sure you get there early Thursday-saturday if you plan on wanting to sit down and enjoy time there because it is small and fills up very quickly. read more

Afternoon tea was so fun. The tea service came around and talked us through all the teas and passed them around to smell. Best view of the MKE in a public place, by far. For the atmosphere drinks are fairly priced. Very elegant, if you are looking for a "date night" type of place I would definitely recommend Blu.
