Went here for dinner wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend. I ordered a hibachi steak which was not good and had a lot of stuff that wasn't listed. I also got a miso soup which tasted odd. After we ordered they tried to bring out order out but continued bring out the wrong food. It wasn't an overall great place either. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go again.

There is one aspect of dining in Hibachi restaurants I find completely unnecessary--and that's the hibachi "show" in which diners gather with strangers around the grill to watch the meal prep and get doused in the heat (ala Benihana's and their numerous imitators). I prefer a Japanese diner where you sit in a booth and they bring you that style of food--quicker, cheaper, and without the show. This is what Ginger Hibachi is. Therefore they are way more economical and way quicker making them a solid choice for a relatively fast lunch that is way better than fast food. It's nice enough indoors too and the booths are comfy, the service is efficient and friendly. There are a few menu photos on this yelp page as of 3/2023 that have some incredible prices listed--unfortunately, these prices are no longer accurate. I'd say all dishes are about 30% higher now (3/2023) than they were whenever that photo was added. So, for example, expect to pay $12.95 for a mixed chicken-shrimp hibachi plate with your choice of rice or noodles. Add a couple of bucks a pop if you want a drink and/or an egg roll plus taxes and tip. So not the cheapest lunch around, but not outrageous either and totally fair for the quality of ingredients. I had a chicken and shrimp lunch sized hibachi plate and a glass of water for $13 pre tip. Food was out to me in less than 15 minutes. It's serve yourself for silverware and sauces--plenty of yum yum and soy sauce as well as real ramekins and flatware. If you check out my photo, you'll see the lunch portions are more than enough food. I imagine the dinner portions, for a few bucks more, are actually too much food for one person to eat for one meal. The spices were great, everything was perfectly cooked. The shrimp in particular packed a lot of flavor but the broccoli and rice were both well above average. There were a lot of menu items I'd like to try in the future as well. Definitely a place I'll revisit.

The portions are large, the food is good, everything you can expect from hibachi. The location is in a fun, walkable area and there is a lot of public parking.

    Chicken teriyaki with noodles

The food was very good. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with noodles. Great flavor AND an amazingly large portion! The service was excellent and all of the personnel were friendly and very obliging! I would recommend this quiet, charming little restaurant for a great change of pace.

Here is an updated menu! This is the menu that hangs in a restaurant. I'm sorry that our paper menus are old and outdated but this is an accurate one for you. Very good food we do lunch till 3:30 we open up at 11:00 a.m. open most nights to 8: 30, weekends 9:30.

Tried this place while working in the area. I will say that the food was ok, service was lacking, and a bit over priced. They also need to clean the place. It looks old and dirty. I probably won't be back.

Really good food located in downtown Dickson. The staff was very friendly and we only waited about 10 minutes for our food during dinner time. It's not a big restaurant, so I wouldn't take a big group, but perfect for date nights or lunch. Portions were huge and I ended up taking half of it home. The steak and chicken were cooked and seasoned perfectly.

Not a fan. Rice tasted like dish water. Meat was bland and dry. Very likely the worst food in all of Dickson.

But highly specialized foreign cuisine like Indian, Vietnamese, or in this case Korean, is typically found in the big city. It doesn't just happen in random places. One would think those can't exist beyond the suburban reaches of a heavily populated area. And they preferably occur in a neighborhood with a significant ethnic population that guarantees the demand for authenticity. When I saw the phenomenal online ratings for Fat Tiger, a greatly heralded Korean joint on the periphery of the Nashville metropolitan area, way out in the countryside by city slickers' standards, I wondered if it was too good to be true. Were these ratings inflated, or was this a hidden gem people need to know about? The only way to discover the truth was to drive myself out there. Boy was that drive worth it! Fat Tiger is legit! While my standards are unreasonably lofty after eating copious dishes in South Korea on several occasions, the recipes made at Fat Tiger passed down from a Korean grandmother are spot on! Yes, it's true, some of the best Korean food in Middle Tennessee is all the way out in Dickson County!! Thank heavens for crowd-sourced review sites finding spots like this! On their recommendation, I went with the jaeyook bokkeum that I'd fallen in love with on an outing in Seoul. It's thinly shaved spicy pork marinated in a gochujang rub, pleasantly spicy but not so hot that you couldn't enjoy it. That was absolute perfection! The meat was so tender, the flavors so rich and complex without overpowering, the sauce in just the right portions. And you get so much food for the price! Now I just need to return to sample the rest of the menu! I see you, Bulgogi Loaded Fries!

From the moment my husband and I stepped up to the elaborately funky barn entrance to explore the charming sights/vibes/smells inside, we were both immediately hungry for all the fatty good fun promised within that fabulous menu. The sweet staff were all such a pleasure as well, especially the kind young lady who offered me a sample of the exquisite turnip green soup because I mentioned it looked good...and it was! We ended up sharing the FANTASTIC shrimp burger with fries and the equally delightful seafood pancake, which was one of the best I've yet to try. And how about those awesome dipping sauces that same sweet staff brought us for our first tastes? It only enhanced the excellent flavors and textures of our dishes! Soooo glad we happened to stop by on our way out of town and soooo willing to make the trek back if we're close by there again--what an awesome eatery and a pleasant surprise! Also, if Guy Fierri hasn't made his way here yet he NEEDS to like yesterday, because it's just the type of perfectly unique stop you'd see on his Flavortown adventures: HINT-HINT!!

I very much liked it. We ordered the fried pork wontons to share, but they were disgusting. Only the bottom was browned, the other two sides looked and had the consistency of steamed. The worst part was the meat inside tasted just like cheap breakfast sausage with a small amount of green onion. They were so bad that I told our server, Kristin, how bad they taste, what they taste like, and told her I couldn't eat them. She didn't offer an apology, or offer to take them off the check. She just said, "They are pork." But the correct thing to do in that situation is to remove it from the check. It wasn't eaten, minus the one I bit into and thought the meat tasted funky, so hubs ate a bite and had to spit it out because the meat tasted like it was old breakfast sausage. Kristin was very flippant, and didn't care a bit. We won't be back.

From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. The first thing that stood out was their small plate concept, and I absolutely loved it. I enjoy trying a variety of dishes instead of committing to just one entrée, and this concept is something I wish more restaurants would adopt. We ended up trying almost half the menu and loved nearly every dish. A huge shout-out to our server, Nestor. He welcomed us warmly, was cheerful throughout the evening, and his recommendations were spot on. He truly made the dinner even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of mocktails, and the Purple Haze was refreshing and delicious. Here are some of our favorites: MI Cucumber - Smashed cucumber with soy dressing, crunchy chili oil, and cilantro. Simple, refreshing, and packed with flavor. Plantain - Fried plantains topped with sriracha goat cheese, cilantro, and crunchy gremolata. The sriracha goat cheese paired perfectly with the sweet plantains. K-Pop Chicken - Korean sweet and spicy popcorn chicken with great flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Dumplings - Homemade steamed dumplings with edamame, truffle, yuzu ponzu, and garlic confit. I really enjoyed the truffle flavor, though it may not be for everyone. Kimchi Bacon Risotto - Caramelized kimchi, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, and shrimp. One of the best dishes of the night--perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. Crispy Spicy Tuna - Spicy mayo tuna served over crispy rice. This was one of the highlights of the meal. The crispy rice was absolutely perfect. Cauliflower Taco - Crispy cauliflower with guacamole, creamy miso, and tsiran spice. The filling was flavorful, and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. Lamb Chops - This was the only dish that felt average. The lamb was cooked well, but it was missing a bit of flavor. A little more seasoning, especially some salt, would have really elevated the dish. To finish the meal, we had the Banana Pudding with Vanilla Gelato, which was a delicious and satisfying way to end dinner. Overall, MI Kitchen completely exceeded our expectations. Amazing food, a fun small-plate concept, and outstanding service from Nestor made this a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!
