Check in is at 4 and you get access by text only. Check out is promptly 10 AM! That seems extremely early especially for the prices you are paying. I asked for either an early check in or late check out and was denied which is fine but if checkout were a little later it would've been extremely helpful.

The 'Modern 2 Bedroom in Heart of Downtown Gearhart, Two Blocks from Beach!' on the Oregon Coast had some pretty honest albeit cherry-picked guest reviews on Vrbo, but we decided to give them a shot anyway, especially since there's not too much available in Gearhart. It was filthy. Dishes were put away haphazardly and dirty -- covered with nasty old food and detritus. The floors were tacky and in the front bedroom the sisal rug had bits of broken glass in it that ended up in our feet. The outdoor 'area' was a dried up lawn and a grease-covered picnic table with burn marks. When I reached out to let them know about this their response was 'you should have let us know right away' which rang a little hollow since our check in time was 4pm and we had to be up the next morning for fishing at 4am, and frankly these things seemed to be beyond what their housekeeping crew could manage. Windows were filthy, and again, everything we used in the kitchen had to be pre-washed. Absolutely disgusting. Back to the shards of glass on the rug that became embedded in our feet: Meredith's response was "thank you for the feedback". Inexcusable customer service. Super nasty.

I do not recommend supporting this store to anyone who carries a firearm for self defense. You may not like guns and that's fine. At Cap'n Gull's, there are so many gifts to choose from, ranging from magnets to shirts to snow globes. My goal is to bring back a snow globe from each city that I visit, and I ended up finding a cute one with a beach chair and umbrella inside. I also picked up a beach magnet, a Christmas ornament, and a street sign with my name on it. My boyfriend picked up several items as well. He got himself a shirt, a beer bottle opener, a basset hound magnet, and a beagle and a basset hound description photo frame. The total for all of these came out to about $100 or so. It's located on the 101 freeway right across the street from Kyllo's and the beach access parking lot, so you literally cannot miss it. You'll find almost everything from A to Z here.
