My head was spinning when we first entered the Christmas Cottage. There's so much to see, ornaments everywhere, that it was hard for me to focus and look over their massive collection. We went in to find an ornament to celebrate our first time to Lincoln City together and were not disappointed in the selection. The staff was very helpful; they pointed us to the themed area for the coast and we quickly found two ornaments for our Christmas tree. We were also looking for a pinball machine ornament, but unfortunately they didn't have any. A staff member did look everywhere it could be, just in case, which was super nice. As we went to the counter, we were told that they could write anything on the ornament for us for free. We took them up on that and it'll be an item treasured for a long time. Prices are as expected in a touristy and niche shop, but the service and personalization was what made it worth it. We would venture here again if in the area. read more

Visit Christmas Cottage in Lincoln City, OR, where it's Christmas all year long! We visited this darling little gem on a Monday afternoon in the middle of August, just to see what they had. Look for the purple building sitting along Hwy 101 - you literally cannot miss it. This place was almost overwhelming to me! Parking is a bit difficult to find, largely in part due to the Mexican restaurant that sits a few doors down. We couldn't find a space at first and we had to circle around and try again. Thankfully, when we came back around, one person was leaving and we ended up getting their space. Lucky us! Walking in, holy cow, SO MANY ORNAMENTS! There were so many ornaments all around that I just wanted to buy all of them. They have ornaments in almost everything that you can imagine, like food, Disney characters, puppies, and so much more. They also sell puzzles and all other sorts of Halloween items as well (a few of these were made in Kashmira, India). And if you buy an ornament that's customizable, they will print your name/decoration of your choice on it for free. I think we went a little overboard buying the ornaments lol. My boyfriend and I got a few for ourselves and a few as Christmas gifts for our families. He bought one customizable ornament that had a basset hound on it for his mom, who has a basset hound named Winston. He currently plans on giving this to her for her birthday, which is coming up in a couple of weeks. The lady that helped us and customized our ornaments was super sweet. She gave us a complimentary tote bag and two complimentary postcards which include the Christmas Cottage storefront and its' history. My uncle is a fan of postcards, so I'm planning on sending one to him once I get home from vacation. She also asked us where we were visiting from, to which we responded Las Vegas. When we told her that we flew in and drove here from Portland, she suggested to us that we store our ornaments in our carry-on baggage, to ensure that they don't break, especially the fragile ones. This storefront opened up in 1978 and has been bringing Christmas spirit to Oregon ever since. The little coastal town of Lincoln City was along my driving route to Seattle. I instantly did a u-turn after noticing this cutesy Christmas store from the main road. Sadly I arrived about 15 minutes before closing and you could easily spend hours exploring their endless decor. Every inch of this building is stacked with different themed ornaments. Including the shelves, ceiling, and even parts of the ground. You're pretty much guaranteed to find whatever your heart desires. It's fun to explore the different ornaments featuring sports teams, dog breeds, religious holidays, food items, and even milestones (weddings, first home, etc.) I snagged a dog ornament for my brother who got a puppy in 2024. The lady at the front was nice enough to customize it with his name, despite it being closing time. Highly recommend this spot if you're passing through Lincoln City. read more

I was in the area and noticed the Santas hanging out on the roof of this building. Seemed odd for such a place to be open in March these days, but I decided to stop in. Wow--the selection of ornaments here is MASSIVE. They have ornaments of common jobs (doctor, teacher, construction worker), foods (like Wonder bread, even), sports, animals, families, and a TON more. Cute place with a nice variety of ornaments filling the walls and ceilings. They seem to have mostly ornaments of average quality, with a smaller assortment of higher quality items. As a result, the prices are quite reasonable. If you don't like feeling crowded I would suggest not stopping in during the holiday season, especially on a weekend. The shop is quite small with low ceilings and narrow aisles. This past Saturday in November it was just too tight to be comfortable...often we couldn't get past other shoppers so we just cut out early. Five stars for being the best at what they are. The store is packed with everything Christmas, and organized by both type and color. The ceiling is even festooned with ornaments available for purchase. It can be a bit overwhelming when first walking in, but the staff was super helpful in pointing us in the right direction. When you're driving down the road and you see a giant Santa posed on a roof, you have no choice but to stop in and see what it's all about. This store is simultaneously awe inspiring (so shiny!) and terrifying (narrow aisles and clumsy me). There is a huge selection of ornaments and nut crackers to peruse. The staff is really sweet and helpful. The lines can be long, but they do move fairly fast. This store fills you with that holiday feeling, the warm fuzzies and expectation. It reminds me of unpacking ornaments when I was a kid and the delight in finding that super shiny one that you had forgotten about. Even my teenager, who can be pretty meh about stuff found a bit of joy in the toilet paper tree ornament and had it personalized for the family. read more

Very rude employee yesterday when shopping there. A friend made a inappropriate comment directed towards my husband as a joke. Were in there for at least a half hour nothingvwas said. After spending $200 we left and we're sitting on my car in the parking lot. Both employees physically left the store, came to my car and told my friend she was so "offended" at the remark he made and was so upset. This little shop is filled with thousands of Christmas ornaments, as well as other Christmas decorations, and some other holiday decor! My partner and I decided to stop by after driving right past it on our way down from Seattle, Washington (drove all the way down the coast). We love the holidays, especially Christmas so we thought this would be the perfect stop for us. They have an ornament for everything you can think of! They have a huge selection of Disney ornaments, food inspired ornaments, sea inspired ornaments, instrument ornaments...you get the picture! Anything you can think of...they have an ornament for! My partner and I ended up getting ornaments for our kids (gaming remote ornament, Elsa from Frozen ornament, burger with fries and a drink ornament, and an Oregon and Washington ornament for memories of our short road trip). So hard not to get more because there are so many options, and an ornament for every life event or memory you want to cherish. We also got a Christmas puzzle and Halloween puzzle. 1000 pieces each! Perfect for adults;) they also have a tonnnnn of puzzle options! This little shop is right along the highway in Lincoln City. My partner and I are from Los Angeles, CA and fell in love with this store so much that we've decided to go back later this year to get some more ornaments! My husband and I always stop here to get a new ornament. We love the variety of dog breed specific ornaments and actually found a Black and Tan Coonhound one for our boy Otis who has since passed. We went inside and was literally blown away on all the beautiful, cool and unique things in the Christmas Cottage. We were greeted by friendly down to home staff who work in the store. It was our first time ever coming and we had a blast going through it. The Christmas Cottage reminds me of a Hallmark Movie. They have a Star Wars section, hunter/fisherman section, tons of career ornaments (6 types of dentist ornaments alone), and the coolest food ornaments I have ever seen. Living and working on the coast for several years, I had driven past the Christmas Cottage several times. I recall stopping in once maybe 10 years ago, but I couldn't remember clearly. My girlfriend loves ornaments, so we turned around just so she could stop in and she was very impressed. The place is jampacked with ornaments. They are nearly coming out of their ears. We were greeted when we walked in and when we went into the adjacent room, there were 3 more employees there that were joyfully working away. We were asked if we were looking for anything in particular. We said no and we were left to look around for ourselves. This place has quite the selection. It is broken down nicely from a sports section, a Disney section, a military section, even a Day of the Dead section, which I assume gets rotated out for new stock. The pricing was not overly outlandish, although there were a few Marvel related items that I may have been interested in (a very small picture frame), but they were a bit much. The rest of the actual ornaments seemed very reasonably priced. My girlfriend had interest in a particular ornament and we could not find exactly what she was looking (specifically, we wanted a smaller version of the large ornament she found). The crew knew exactly where to look and we didn't find one that was close enough to what she was shooting for. By happenstance, I nearly hit my head (you have to duck a lot in this place if you are over 6' tall) on one very similar to what she wanted and she got someone to get it down for us and we purchased it. Overall, I like this place. If an ornament is what you really desire, this place has LOTS of options. If you are looking for something else Christmas related, they do have some selections of other items here and there, but the bread and butter are ornaments. They have a friendly and helpful staff. I imagine that the next time we travel through Lincoln City, we will be making another stop to Christmas Cottage. read more

I am currently in Sheridan Or. visiting my eldest sons family. Last time I was here, they introduced me to the magical world of the CHRISTMAS COTTAGE. I was captivated by the store itself, the employees and the thousands of different Christmas and not exactly 'Christmas' items available. On this visit to Oregon, returning there was a top priority as the several ornaments, that they personalize for you as you wait, were a smash hit for all that received one. On this visit I had a list of names dates and themes, I think there were 15 all totaled. I was fortunate that the delightful owner, Barbe, was there and she helped me, locating, showing & telling us the origin and story for each one, if they were 'special'. She also did the personalization on each one. Because I am traveling she wrapped each with care, chose the right gift box for each one, and packed them, with the boxes , still flat, sticky note attached (so I would know) and never missed a beat, as customers came and went she greeted each one. I highly recommend that everyone makes a plan and visits the CHRISTMAS COTTAGE. Its a wonderful magical place and will not break the bank. If you are looking for (non-Hallmark) Christmas ornaments, this is the place to go. The walls were literally covered in ornaments, including some local options. They also had a large selection of what looked like German advent calendars, and they had a number of Christmas pyramids as well. There were some Jim Shore Santas and Christmas puzzles. Nutcrackers! 4 stars because the parking was so awkward and the bathroom situation was that you had to walk away from the store and use public restrooms, and both of those things negatively impacted us during our visit. Anything and everything you could ever imagine in the world of holiday decorations. "Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse". Not only do they have hundreds of mice ornaments, not moving of course. The Christmas Cottage is always busy and full of holiday smiles as you walk around. The sights are actually overwhelming, there is so much to see. Trees all in different themes, a huge section of specialty lights in different shapes and sizes. Christmas cards and books too. The glass ornament section is the largest I have ever seen and is amazing. I stop here nearly every trip I make. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is so much fun and helpful, and always full of the spirit of Christmas. This place is more than just a shop to check out ornaments and holiday decor. Its a tourist destination that should not be missed by the Christmas enthusiast. Parking is limited in this little strip of shops. Be careful of the highway traffic. At the end of a small stretch of cafes, candy shops, and other gift shops off 101, it's full of Christmas ornaments, decor, Nutcrackers, colored Christmas Trees, tourist trinkets, and other fun Christmas-y gift items. The workers are friendly grandma types, and you can find ornaments that are around $4 up to more pricy, fancy ones. They have huge authentic Nutcrackers too.
