I contacted the owner Meriann to buy a bulk of the reel to reel tapes they had at a recent estate sale and even though, I offered to pay full price and compensate one of the team members for their time to ship them to me after the sale dates, she wouldn't let me finish a sentence. I found her attitude to be dismissive, unpleasant, testy and curt. I don't believe that she served the best in customer service for her client, because the reels will end up in a donation store if not, the trash when they clear the house out to put it on the market. I've had other estate sale companies they were quite accommodating to my needs and created a win win for both parties. read more

They may get rid of things, but be ready to be hated by your neighbors. After promising they wouldn't be parking down a private cul de sac, both their employees and their customers show no respect to neighbors. We watched our neighbors house be damage (cabinets, floors, doorways) call customers stupid, and zero consideration for neighbors after it had been promised. I have been attending these sales, off and on now fora while. The reason? Its almost NEVER a good experience. I recently attended one held in my area. The thing that was most noticeable to me, and a change, are the people that attended, waiting to get in. They were not friendly at all. In the past they were. So, I entered before they were open to all that showed up to ask a specific question. I was not allowed to get the question out, cut off mid-sentence. The owner is very rude and dismissive. With this attitude; hoepfully, they will go away soon as they truly are poor, at best, with any customer who is not a rugular. They seem to kiss up to regulars as they make "special" deals for some. For the most part, the value for casual shoppers is not there. Too much is overpriced. My guess is this is because they routinely have 50% off on the next day. Perhaps the second day's price is really the amount they wanted. In my opinion, they appear to often sell fakes and should do a bit more research before asking for too much money since the price tends to not reflect this, that they're fakes. The extra star given in this rating is for the young woman that usually greets everyone with a smile and the rules. I have a house full of great items. Some were gifts, most purchased new and some from various estate sales. Since I enjoy estate sales, I now shop to gift good finds to others that may not be able to purchase nice items at an affordable price. I have been more dissapointed than not, with Ginny's Girls Estate Services, and am now wondering if I should state in my will that whatever my children do not want after I'm gone, under no cisrcumstance are they to hire Ginny's Girls Estate Serives. OK, so here we are, three years after my first review. It appears this company is a bit on the shady side. I've noticed they have a bad habit of changing prices (increasing them) on the second day of sale, which they market as 50% off. When I asked about it, I was told they "often" do that. Obviously, this is not ok. They also list some things (pictures) in add that tend to disappear on the day before the sale as it is not on the site. I could understand once in awhile, but it happens often. Perhaps an employee buys it, at a discount of course. Whatever, I think the practice is pretty rude. Have now decided to skip Ginny's Girls going forward. I writing this on the chance that they might clean up their act and to alert others to pay close attention to how this business does business. read more

Don't go to any Ginny Girls estate sales if you expect to be one of the first 10 people in line after the address is posted at 8:00 am. I arrived at 8:05 am and 45 people had already signed up. Obviously the address has been given out way before posted time. Lots of angry & disappointed customers were there. One lady even stated she uses any outside pictures of the house on the listing to Google search the address. She was able to find the house days ahead of the sale. Another person stated she can find the address on the Yard Sale App. Perhaps Ginny Girls needs to clarify when the sign up sheet can start. read more

Firstly, they did come in and set up, sell, and clear the house under a tight deadline, so kudos for that. However, I had told them a few times that I was not selling the vehicle in the garage, being that I live out of state, I had flown up to arrange this sale, and packed items that I was keeping in the back seat and put a bronze statue piece in the trunk. The day I was flying up I found that piece on the site advertising the sale....they got into the trunk of my car and took an item. They didn't take the lesser valued items from the back seat but chose to check the trunk and take the statue (appraised at over $5k) for themselves to sell. To me, that is theft, to them, a misunderstanding. I dont know how taking something from a locked trunk is not attempted theft...do you?I would have been totally outraged if I had not caught this and it was sold. It was a gift that I gave to my deceased mother and has added value to me. Another point, I cannot get an answer to this, but they brought other items into the house to sell. They never indicated that they would do such a thing, but I deserve a portion of those sales, if not a fee for providing a place for them to sell. The ironic part of this, is they indicated that items that don't sell are disposed of or taken to a charity. This action exposes that as a lie. Since then they say I got a portion of those items, but I cannot get an itemized breakdown, and their justification is those items were from a house they cleaned out. Be very wary of them. The "semantics game" is an indication of dishonesty, to me. I am very happy that they cleaned out the house in time for closing, but there were many actions that indicated a lack of integrity......oh, and I didn't even address that the car had almost a 1/4 less gas in the tank, I had taken a photo of the fuel amount when I left the car, and it was obviously driven more than just backing out of the garage. read more

I'm a realtor with John L. Scott real estate. My client's children hired Ginny's Girls Estate Services when their parents went in to assisted living. The home was filled with many years of memories and collecting treasures. It was quite the monumental taste for Ginny's Girls!. The family was able to first go through what they wanted to keep and then was able to let go. Then Ginny's Girls went through everything to get ready for a 3 day estate sale. Super organized. The first day of the sale, there was a line out past the driveway. I was amazed. They had plenty of help. I heard the long line was the same each day. After the sale, goodwill came and then Ginny's Girls removed all items left from the Entire house including two outbuildings and broom swept the floors! Wow! This is the way to go! The owner is snappy, unprofessional and IMO not the most ethical. Had a bad experience at one of "Ginny's Girlfriends" estate sales and it was chaotic and poorly managed. Anyone looking for a company should not hire this one, lots of other better options. read more

Met the owner at an estate sale who heard me politely tell her worker that she handled a situation unprofessionally. The worker is a nice lady. Seen her at previous estate sales. It's feedback on how to handle it better next time. Then a woman came over and said she wouldn't have that and I can shop somewhere else. I asked who she was a few times and she wouldn't answer until we went to a corner. This is where she said she didn't care what happened and used I think one or two cuss words - not the end of the world but she isn't very professional. It would benefit the owner to identify what the issue is before attacking customers. I love that she defends her employees but when they are in the wrong and the customer is trying to assist them on improvement - she might want to actually listen before going on the attack. If you have someone yelling and cussing at your employees - please go mama bear on them! I love that when employers defend their workers. But wow the owner attacks without even knowing anything about a situation. The owner said I was welcomed to shop or leave, obviously she doesn't care about one little person and that's fine. It's sad my boyfriend and I like going to look at estate sales and Ginny Girls has always been a favorite but after meeting "Ginny," that isn't a place I wouldn't recommend anyone supporting. The thing is. It didn't even need to happen. It was over something so little. Multiple people said they couldn't hear the worker speaking. She is a very nice person. When I said I couldn't hear. She said obviously other people could hear her because they were going into the sale when she called and if I couldn't hear her then I could move. 1) There was no where to move to. 2) There are better ways to handle the situation. But it happened right? The easy thing would be apologize and realize you can do better next time and move on. But the owner bulldozed in with a hot head. Hopefully she will think about some anger management classes. read more

Ginny's Girls was amazing! After my mother passed away in March, we had to figure out what to do with her house that she lived in for 47 years (it was PACKED with stuff). Meriann and her team came in, sorted every room, every cabinet/closet, and the entire garage in a very short amount of time. They genuinely cared about my mother's stuff, our feelings and making the whole process seamless to us. Because of COVID, we hit some delays in having the sale, but as soon as restrictions were lifted, they were able to schedule our sale with every safety precaution put in place and it was a huge success! I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were and what a big difference it made during such a difficult time to have someone help with that enormous task. When the online auction that Ginny's Girls conducted for me was over, I was completely blown away. The process had been so smooth and easy, my dad's garage which had been PACKED with boxes was completely empty, and I had made more money from it than I would have believed possible before I met Meriann! My dad and grandma had both recently passed away, and both of them were lifelong "collectors." While I knew I didn't want to keep the majority of it, I didn't have the time to go through it all piece by piece to sell it. I also knew I didn't want to simply donate or dump their cherished items either. Then on top of that, this coronavirus pandemic hit and I couldn't even have a garage sale! I am so grateful I found Ginny's Girls online. I knew the moment I met Meriann that she was the right person for the job. She was thoughtful, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. I felt completely confident from the beginning that she would treat my dad and grandma's belongings with respect. Ginny's Girls made what I had anticipated as being a long and painful process smooth and easy. I really couldn't believe how much stress it relieved for me. Thank you SO MUCH, Ginny's Girls!
