I got the mushroom Detroit-style pizza and absolutely loved it. The crust was beautifully crispy, the toppings tasted fresh, and the whole thing had that rich, satisfying quality that makes you slow down a bit and appreciate what is happening. Quite a triumph, really. I also really appreciated how many vegan options they had, including vegan pizzas and milkshakes, which feels both thoughtful and refreshingly modern without making a fuss about it. It makes the menu feel more fun and more inclusive, which is always a point in a place's favour. The prices were great, everyone working there was extremely nice and friendly, and the restaurant itself was decorated in such a cool way. It had a great vibe, stylish without being try-hard, and felt like somewhere you could happily settle in and stay a while. Overall, a thoroughly delightful stop and one I would gladly return to.

There were 6 of us so we had to put our name down and it was a ~30 min wait, but so worth it. We ordered the Cashew Caesar Salad to start followed by 3 types of medium sized pizzas: Pepperoni, Meat Lovers and Sausage + Pistachio. The food came out so quickly and SO tasty. I love a good Caesar Salad and the cashews added such a nice nutty taste to it - a hefty portion as well where all of us got a solid serving. The pizzas were cut, luckily, in 6 - super hot and the cheese pulls were so satisfying. My favourite was the Sausage and Pistachio - I've never had one like this and as someone who loves pistachio, the combination worked so well. All to say, the other 2 were also delicious. The pizzas were meaty and I appreciate how they also had vegan/vegetarian substitutions if needed. 10/10 service as well, and our server was awesome! Such a fun spot with lots of seating to accommodate all different sized parties with bar seating as well. We'll definitely recommend Grandma Bob's to our friends and we'd love to return when we come back to Detroit!

Atmosphere is nice, decor is very cool, and the setting is intimate, but when it fills up, it is quite loud. Regarding accommodations, for our teen daughter, the chef went WELL beyond normal accommodations to modify the Steelhead Trout dish to allow her to enjoy what she called "the best fish I've ever had". He absolutely made her night. We all shared the Brussel Sprouts (w/ honey, lime, & chicken skin) and Octopus appetizers. The Brussels were heavenly and the octopus was flavorful and tender (very nicely prepared). Aside from the Steelhead entrée, my wife and son both had the Ribeye Cap w/ yaji, peanut, & kiwi. They couldn't stop raving about it. The pairing of kiwi with steak was delicious and creative! I ordered the Lobster dish and honestly, it was better than many top tier seafood restaurants I've visited. It featured tail & claw meat atop a crab cake with a citrus beurre blanc and crispy wontons. I'd go back just for this dish. For dessert, we tried the PB&J Napoleon, and found the berry sorbet to be ridiculously fresh and bursting with flavor. Portion sizes were just right. Everyone left well satiated, but not overly full. We had a reservation, and I'd highly recommend if you're thinking of going, you get one as well. It was a full house the entire time we were there, and it was only midweek.

We did two orders each of the focaccia (the whipped gorgonzola served with it was SO good), the farinata (the chickpea pancake), the artichokes, and the asparagus. My mom and I also decided to order separate pasta dishes and split them, I went with the carbonara and she went with the stuffed shells (conchiglie alla norcina). Hands down my favorites were the artichokes and the asparagus. So fresh and flavorful! The stuffed shells were also quite good and quite a hearty portion. Admittedly my least favorite dish was my carbonara. It was very pepper forward which I'm not super crazy about. I anticipated that given the base is their cacio e pepe but I was curious to try it as the chef intended but for me it was a bit too much. It was still very good, but next time I'd ask them to go a little easy on those extra pepper grings to match my personal palate a little better. For dessert we split the dark chocolate gelato and it was so good and VERY rich. Perfect for splitting. Our server (whose name I forgot which is a bummer) was so great! She explained she was in training and to forgive any mistakes but there were none! She knocked it out of the park. My cousin (the celebrant) also has several nut allergies and they were incredibly accommodating and checked in with us regularly to make sure everything was good for her. They also offered little touches for celebrations which were quite nice and made us happy we selected them for the special occasion. They sweetly added some congrats messaging to my cousin on her dessert, gave her a greeting card signed by the whole staff, and a bag of their milled flour for pancakes as a little parting gift. She felt very spoiled and it was very sweet! Overall, it was an incredible experience. Looking forward to my next visit already! Especially when celebrating a special occasion!

If you're looking for a place to work, it's great for solo productivity, reading, writing, or answering emails. However, it can get a bit lively and loud, so I wouldn't recommend it for virtual meetings or calls. For focused work without meetings, though, it's a perfect spot. Another epic part of the experience is the live music we were privy to Sunday night. When the gentlemen weren't playing, we were treated to some really nice jazz through the speakers.
