Giovanni's Pizza in Ashland, Ky, came in handy when I was going to visit my mom in the hospital, and my dad and I both needed dinner. I called in two hot ham and cheese sandwiches for pickup. When I arrived I had to wait maybe five minutes. I noticed the dinner buffet with various pizzas and pasta. It looked very appetizing. And who doesn't like a buffet at a pizza spot? The hot ham and cheese sandwiches were delicious. The bread was cooked just the way I like it, with a light crispness, not overcooked! The toppings were fresh and my Dad and I were satisfied! I strongly question the sanitation in this restaurant because the men's bathroom smelled like sewage. The buffet was not well kept, brown noodles, pies missing proper utensils. There was not cheese or pepperoni pizza on the bar and the pizza I did have had very little to no sauce. I'm surprised the store is in such disarray being that the chain headquarters is next door. I have been going to Giovanni's since I was a teenager, some 40 years, and I have to say they are probably the worst food I've eaten. They were good, but gradually through the years their food has declined. I don't if it's because they expanded their number of stores or if it's because it's post-Covid, but it's not good. A good pizza considering what we have to choose from but Delivery forget it ! Been 5 years since I tried a delivery from here it took 5 hours I said never again but just not wanting to drive to get it I tried their delivery service again, BIG MISTAKE !!! The girl said 45 minutes to an hour ok I'm feeling lazy so go for it after a hour I'm getting concerned so I call the girl was no help she got the manager, I think it was melody so I told her it had been an hour she said the delivery driver was on his way back to get my order I told her I didn't want a pizza that's been setting there for an hour she said what do you want me to do about it make you another one ! I visit on Fridays and my customers requiested to come here. I usually do not have a good things to say but... It was a pizza buffet. Their pizza was very good and they kept them fresh. I want to say they do Sausage Pizza old school style - it si not pre-boiled but pinched on the pie and cooked while backing. They did have pastas with Alfredo, Marinara, and Meat Sauce - I never made it past the pizza I can tell the place is popular because we showed up at 12:30 PM and iwe were fighting for a parking spot. I will definitely go here again. Most of the pizza was very yummy. You have not lived until you try their garlic bread. This review stems from a party pack "prize" that I won on Facebook.well, you get what you pay for... my "prize" makes me not want to return.... thin crust pizza should be crisp, this was undercooked, skimpy on the mushrooms, green peppers diced finely... virtually no eye appeal, the cookie thing that they threw in was better than the dam pizza!.... obviously successful, they will endure without me.... and as a fine dining chef for over 4 decades... trust me - these guys would not last in an affluent competitive market..... approach with care read more

I order delivery on occasion, and it's always 1 1/2 hours for delivery. Once, the order took 3 hours and 15 minutes. Why do I keep ordering? I'm an optimist. Or maybe an idiot. Very nice buffet for a great price! Well stocked and the pizza was delicious. The service was friendly.

Full dining room maybe 3-4 pizzas on bar, baked spaghetti looked like been there since noon. Ask for another salad and drink know service. Ask for vegetable pizza got head bitten off for asking. You can tell owner needs to get them some help. As usual they want to make all money. Although workers need to watch there mouth. This place needs serious help. And it's a holiday weekend. We ordered delivery, a half cheese half pepperoni and sausage. When the pizza arrived there was no sausage. No big deal, we were just gonna deal with it, until I bit into my slice and there was a hair. A long, blond hair under the cheese. I called them back, the woman on the phone was very rude but agreed to send us a new pizza, stating she would need the original so they could "see their mistake". The new pizza arrived and hour and 20 minutes later. I handed over the first pizza, including the paper plate with the hair. Replacement pizza was garbage. You could tell the sausage was just tossed on out of anger, large clumps here no sausage there...never ordering from them again! read more

This restaurant has been a family tradition for years. The pizza is defenatly an area favorite. HOWEVER, I will never choose this restaurant again because of how terrible there customer services, management and President handled a small situation. If you do decide to go, DO NOT ever place a delivery order, it will take almost two hours to get your food, which will not be correct, and if you decide to just cancel the order, they will still hold the money on your credit/debit (authorize) for well over a week and a half. The problem is pizza for the most part is pizza, but how you treat a paying guest is what makes you stand out. The President does not care for his customers, their inconvienance and there employees would rather argue and be hostile than make up for shortcomings. I heard some people has taken the pizza wrapping from box and has sent it to people who has moved away to tease them, How cruel... I love giovanni's, but was disappointed. I understand that an establishment can get busy with events and holidays and be backed up over an hour but when the food arrives cold and stuck to the top of the box thats where I draw the line. Will not be visiting this store again. read more
