This transparency gave me a lot of confidence in Down East Tree doing the work. Other companies that provided quotes just gave me a number to remove the trees with no other information. I ended up getting one large pine taken down that was wedged between power lines. Throughout the multi-day process Carlos and his crew where constantly cleaning the site. The work was done quickly and with no issues. All communication during the process was professional and courteous. If I have any tree work in the future I would work with Down East Tree again.

We first hired him two or three years ago based on a recommendation from a neighbor. One of the things we appreciated about Kevin is that he not only did the work that was quoted, but he also did some general cleaning up in the area. He took older stumps down to the ground level, removed trees that had previously fallen and were rotting in the woods, and essentially cared about the work like it was his own property. This time around he has been as responsive as the first time. He asks for half down and half upon completion, and his prices are superb compared to other quotes. He's clearly skilled - he's able to drop heavy branches away from fencing and anything that could be damaged using ropes - which is another benefit for us. Also, he proactively has his insurance company send an email showing his insurance coverage so you don't have to ask. Finally, one of the other things we appreciate is that he takes everything away - there is not a trace left of the tree he was cutting down. Jim sprayed the lawn and supposedly performed the vegetation treatment in all of maybe 15 min. Not possible!!! I contacted Turf Dr so he could return and do it properly. I was told they could not reschedule him because they were busy. I asked for a refund and was told they could not do that either. We did not have a contract, because I did not see or respond to his email. His workers showed up on a day I was not home. After they removed the tree & ground up the stump - they did not chip the wood. We should have owed them $350. for this job, but my husband didn't know that. Endy's crew handed my husband a bill for $450, which my husband paid in full by personal check. I have used Endy before; he's pleasant and his workers do what they are told. But I immediately emailed him (and he called me back). I told him I had not authorized them to come on that day. When I got home, I saw they hadn't left the wood chips; therefore we only owed them $350. Therefore I was overcharged by $100 and I had not agreed that his crew could come - on the day they showed up.
