Great brewery for a relaxing time with friends! It was super easy to find, plenty of parking, with food trucks parked in front of the entrance (we got food at the Crepes Paris food truck and it was delicious!). The brewery has plenty of space, I wager can probably sit over 100 people. I went on Monday afternoon and the seating was abundant. The drinks were very good as well. I had a nitro cold brew coffee and it was smooth, hit the spot for me. Tastes strong and just right. The flight from left to right is called "no woman no cryo", "funk berry pie", "hippie speedball" (coffee stout), and last one on the right edge of the photo is "Ullr Fuelr" (pastry stout). I very much liked the coffee stout, went down dark and smooth, since I'm a coffee lover already. The funk berry pie was also quite tasty, but I would say it is on the sour side so beware of that haha. as for the pastry style, it is a little sweet for my taste, but if you like a sweet coffee, you may want to give this a try. The " no woman, no cryo" was a very good IPA, so if you are a fan of IPA beers, you should definitely give this one ago. Since it's a brewery, the service is really just at the bar where you're getting your drinks, and the bartender was great, very friendly, approachable, efficient. But then again we did arrive at a time when there were not too many people. So wait times may work very based on crowd I presume. But the brewery is very clean and has plenty of seats so I definitely think it's worth checking out if you like beers and food truck gourmet! Loved it! Four of us visited Girdwood while in the area for dinner later at the Double Musky Inn. We each had a tap beer and sat outside on benches, shaded by an tent-like shelter. Chill | merch | flight Chill: Overall, the vibe of the brewery is chill. It's close to the ski slope and has a pretty no-frills approach with two sitting areas for groups to unite and fellowship. If you want a place to chill, have a beer, and talk, it's a great spot. Merch: they have tons of merch hats, beanies, tees, sweaters, hoodies, and flannels, all with the Girdwood emblem on them, so if you want a keepsake from your time on the slopes of the city of Girdwood, there's a great place to stop in have a drink and grab a souvenir. Flight: I had a beer flight, and I had a range of items at a cider logger, a tropical IPA, and another dark stout. All were tasty. They have various items on tap, and The Staff is very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of each drink. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, given Alaska's proximity to the slopes. Pro Tip: Try their in-house root beer. I had 2 cups of it, which was pretty delicious--some of the best root beer I've had in Alaska. Pro tip: the parking lot is a good barometer for space. I've been to about 15 of Alaska's supposed 40 breweries and this one is up there as one my favorites. The taps seem to constantly rotate. The place is usually packed. People tend to share bench space outside and inside, which inevitably generates small talk, or good conversation if you're feeling up to it. This place is very dog friendly. There are routinely at least one - sometimes two - food trucks on premises (Alaska state law does not allow breweries to serve their own food). I'm no beer connoisseur but I do my part as a supportive partner by happily tagging along to check out different breweries. We came during a busy Saturday afternoon and the parking lot was already full. Inside, the line to order moved quickly. The staff were friendly and informative. There was a massive list of beer to choose from but I went with my usual choice of an IPA. After ordering we didn't have any trouble finding an area to comfortably sit and enjoy our drinks. I tried the Lemon In My Pie-PA and I have never had anything like it before. It's labeled as a "milkshake IPA" and definitely goes down like a dessert drink. It was so good, we ordered 2 more glasses each and even had to take some to go. I'm sure we'll return again soon--along with a growler! read more

Super cool spot! Really made our trip to Girdwood. My bff isn't much of a drinker by any stretch of the imagination yet I constantly am dragging him into craft breweries and he goes because I like them I'm sure. I ordered a tasting flight and enjoyed each one. I really could have done with just staying in Girdwood on a recent trip to AK, everything seemed to be open and operating normal in this town which made it super nice! The staff here were great, the merch was cute. The place was really nice and if you know me, you know I'm a Giver when I spotted the pay it forward board or whatever it was called I was in love. You can buy a beer for someone and post a note on the board and they can claim it. The notes are really cute. I of course, being an LA girl bought a beer for someone from LA - if one happens to make it up there during a shoulder season such as I did in October, they'll sure as shit need this beer and another, and another but at least I'm getting them started. If they claim it during the winter then I hope they are having the best après ski here because this is probably, most def the spot! I'd surely return to stay at Aleyska and visit Girdwood again. If you're in town, this is a not to be missed spot. If you don't drink alcohol, don't worry they have root beer too. read more

This is the big orange food truck parked outside the Girdwood Brewing Co. I got the okonomiyaki which is basically a Japanese style pancake ($9). The choices are octopus or shiitake, I got octopus. There's lots of flavor in this snack, and it's conveniently cut into wedges so you can stand around one of the outside fireplaces and eat it without much difficulty. Very friendly service at the window; they'll give you a small buzzer that alerts you when your food is ready for pick up. The menu is filled with things like gyoza, ramen, and even hamachi or ahi sushi rolls. The quality of food is great and fresh, but in my opinion it's a bit on the small side, portion wise. It's really such a treat to have this kind of food available at the brewery. Would recommend. read more

After exploring the Girdwood area, we found our way to Greenwood brewing Company. They are following all social distancing and health protocols, with limited capacity and required masks. We managed to grab a table inside and sat down to enjoy some beer. They had by far one of the best beers I have ever tasted! Their Basic Birkensocks, a pumpkin beer, absolutely blew me away! We ended up loving it so much that we took four large 25 ounce cans to go. While we enjoyed our beers, we also grabbed some tater tot's to share from a local food truck that was parked outside. Before we left, in addition to our to-go beer, we grabbed some merchandise and hit the road. This was by far one of our favorite breweries we visited while in Alaska on our honeymoon. read more

Also it was near the base of a ski area so it brought that feeling. :) So happy they had flight options, but also found it was cheaper to buy them individually vs as a full flight. They had delicious NA options as well, root beer, kombucha etc. Points for the food truck outside to go along with our tasty beers too! About a 40 minute drive from Anchorage, (Gorgeous water side drive with waterfalls and we even a saw a freakin beluga on the way), it was my friend's favorite spot and another friend's local hangout. We loved this brewery so much that we stopped by numerous times over the course of our weekend in Girdwood. We stayed at the Alyeska Resort, so the brewery was a perfect location right down the street. They had a wide variety of beers (IPAs, stouts, Light, sours) and everyone in a group found something they liked! There was plenty of parking in the lot and plenty of seating inside (and some outside around a fire pit), so it was a very comfortable and welcoming environment. The workers were great, too, and super friendly! In addition to the awesome beer, they also have so many great souvenirs for a reasonable price - hats, shirts, hoodies, and more. We even brought one of their growler cans home with us to enjoy the beer once we got back to the East Coast (you're able to take them on a flight in your checked bag). read more

This was the brewery experience I deserved. I didn't have to guess what the limit laws were, or made to feel embarrassed. The laws were clearly displayed in plain view, in the only area you can make purchases. Nice. Girdwood Brewing sits in a beautiful uniquely decorated building. Workers were kind and helpful. Most patrons look like they've just come off the slopes or some nearby trailhead. I love the outdoor seating equipped with fire pits. This brewery usually has a food truck outside during business hours. While we were there most recently, it was Crepes de Paris. Sadie Romo is another food truck that frequents Girdwood Brewing, that I always seem to miss. No woman No Cryo is usually our brew of choice here and still the only IPA I can tolerate.
