The beer was good. I ordered the nitro stout which was very good. For dinner I ordered the Parmesan crusted halibut served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I would have preferred grilled or blacked halibut but it was still pretty good.

Best restaurant we ate at on our Alaska trip per my husband, and I concur! A little bit of a wait for the second floor seating, but we chose the first come first serve option for the first floor seating. We ordered the crab grilled cheese, yak burger and a classic flight of beer. All of them were delicious. The fries that came with both entrees were tasty and so was the chowder that came with the grilled cheese. Wanted to get the bread pudding but was far too full. 66 dollars for our meal, pre tip- which is reasonable price considering Alaskan standards.

One of my favorite stops in Alaska. The beer was excellent. The pretzel was huge! Service from Carlos and Abby behind the bar was great. I loved the vibe and wish I was in the area for a longer period of time.

Fun and lively place. They said 1 hr wait. Had halibut fish n chips and it was good. Very crowded and many young people. It's one of the few places near the hotel. Things close early here. Not much to do after 7 or 8 pm. $30+ meal.

Came in just for snacks and to try their beer. Great stuff all around! Food was good as was the beer. Lots of seating everywhere. Three big screens that I remember, all playing sports. It's a good time here!

The food was awesome and the place is decorated nicely. The service could have been a little better due to the fact it took forever for the server to bring our to go containers. I will say their Wedge salad was pretty darn tasty. Their sandwiches come with fries but you don't get a bunch of fries. One of our guys has the salad and to add a skewer of steak the cost was $19 which I thought was rather steep. Overall the food was really good, I would definitely come back. For me a burger or sandwich would be for 2 meals. I did get the steak sandwich and that was really tasty.

Great night at the 49th State. Enjoyed our visit, albeit it was Valentine's Day. Found a couple seats at the bar for the 3 of us business travelers. The place was pretty full up, families, couples, etc. serious buzz in the place. The team behind the bar, was amazing. Laura was our person, did an awesome job of helping us and really engaging with us. We all ordered something different. Fish & Chips, Chicken Strips, Flat bread. All of the entrees were awesome. Good sized portions, did not leave hungry. Thank you Laura (and team), we really appreciate you!

Yak burger anyone??? I was in beautiful Anchorage and wanted to grab some lunch. 49th state brewing was perfect because it wasn't far from my hotel and because it was so cold outside, I didn't want my walk to exceed 15 minutes. I was really hungry so I got there right when they opened at 11 a.m. I was able to be seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where the tables were lower as compared to downstairs where the tables were high tops. Off the bat the food is phenomenal. For starters I got their popular handmade Bavarian pretzel. It was perfectly seasoned with butter and salt and the pretzel itself was soft and fluffy. It came with a side of cheese which was just as tasty. I was a little nervous it would taste like the melted cheese you eat at an amusement park- but this cheese had fantastic quality. One really neat thing about this brewery is they make their own fountain drinks! I tried the raspberry one and as you can see they aren't shy about the portions! The drink was really good. It had a great flavor to it, and a nice balance. The raspberry wasn't overpowering which I'm grateful for. For my entree I had the Yak burger that came with a side of tater tots. My waiter recommended I get it cooked at medium to keep it juicy. Typically I'm a medium well to well done type of girl, but I decided to trust his judgement and he was right! The burger was huge, messy, and delicious. The medium was definitely a good call. It was juicy but not so red where it would be off putting! Overall, I had a really incredible dining experience at 49th state brewing. And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My meal came out to about $52 (not including my tip). I would love to come back when it's a bit warmer and sit outside- the views from the restaurant are phenomenal. Also, shout out to my waiter! I didn't get his name but he was so kind and the service was excellent!

rooftop where they ignored us completely for 30 minutes :)

genuinely so god awful, the service is the worst i've ever experienced in my entire life. honestly probably a racist establishment. we were told 15 min wait, which is totally fine. but then they took us off the waitlist after we got to 1st in line & i had to talk to the hostess to get back on the waitlist. she put us back at our spot but then they let three parties in ahead of us??? we finally got seated after 30 minutes of waiting but then they totally ignored us for another 30 minutes. and i mean COMPLETELY ignored, no one even asked if we wanted water which imo is crazy because literally every restaurant i've been to at least does water within 30 minutes of sitting down... i don't know if they're racist or what but we just left without ordering. we saw many parties (all white btw) come in after us and get their orders taken AND food served first. do not come here lol i've never been this annoyed at a restaurant in my life bro and im from LA so i KNOW long wait times please avoid, this place does not deserve your money

My coworker and I dropped in for a late lunch at 49th State Brewing, and we were honestly impressed from the moment we walked in. It's a nice, welcoming establishment with plenty of space, and parking is available across the street, which made things easy. Our waiter was extremely kind and friendly. He walked us through the specials, offered recommendations, and brought over a drink menu. We each ordered a drink, I went with a local stout that reminded me of Guinness, just much tastier and smoother. Definitely something I'd come back for. We mentioned that we were in the mood for halibut, and our waiter immediately recommended the panko-crusted halibut, saying it was his personal favorite. He was right. The dish was outstanding--tender, perfectly cooked halibut with a crisp panko crust, served with a mash red-potato and drizzled around the plate was a light white lemon cream sauce. Everything complemented each other perfectly. One of the best halibut plates I've had in Anchorage. We wrapped up our late lunch with dessert: a bread pudding and a blackberry crème brûlée. The bread pudding was warm, perfectly cooked, and served with a rich cream sauce that pulled it all together. The crème brûlée was delicate with a subtle blackberry hint that enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. Overall, fantastic service, excellent food, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in Anchorage.

    Pretzel 10/10

I've been coming to 49th State for lunch, dinner, drinks, and events for quite a while and have usually enjoyed the atmosphere, especially the rooftop. Unfortunately, the last two times we visited, the service experience was really disappointing. We waited around 25 minutes on the very top rooftop without being helped or checked on, and eventually ended up leaving both nights. My boyfriend went up after 30 minutes and requested to be attended to. I understand places get busy, but being completely unattended for that long was frustrating. I still think the location and vibe are great, which is why this was so disappointing. Hoping service improves because this used to be one of our go-to spots. We did go to the beer garden and got a pretzel and beer before we left but hope to go back and experience the rooftop.

Amazing! Restaurant gets packed with patrons on weekday evenings. Must be HH calling or be in the happening spot! Female server provided top notch recommendations. Very accommodating and forward thinking. She exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond in customer service. Ambiance is more upscale. You're welcome to dress comfortably considering or factoring weather. Bring your appetite for Parmesan and Asiago Crusted Halibut. Tasted fresh and outstanding! Lightly breaded crust on outside with soft, moist halibut on the inside. Garlic smashed potatoes were divine! Loved the 49th State's Premium Lemonade with strawberries and thyme. Felt and tasted like a mocktail. Mixologist took lemonade and elevated this beverage to a whole new level. I'm not able to comment on the flight of four beers from lightest to darkest. I let my Tito enjoy it all for the evening. My Tito finished all of his beers. Walking distance from free metered parking after 5 PM in downtown Anchorage. Restrooms located inside the restaurant. Highly recommend to all visitors and residents, plus order food with shape of AK state symbol. Worth visiting!

It's like a croissant baked in a waffle form, but a bit denser than a regular croissant. What really made it special was the Ube cream -- a light, buttery frosting that wasn't too sweet. Easily a 10/10 for me. I also ordered the Ube Cruffin, which had that same croissant-like texture in a muffin shape. The inside had a light cream filling, and the top was covered with the same Ube cream. It was good, but not quite as amazing as the Croffle -- 7/10. The Ham Banh Mi was tasty and filling (6/10), and the Boba Milk Tea was decent too (6/10). Oh and I got to taste their smoked salmon chowder that my friend ordered. Very good flavor, body, and richness (8/10). Everything I had was good but nothing that was as memorable as the Ube Croffle, but it wasn't cheap -- I spent a total $32 for a sandwich, drink and 2 pastries. Then again, prices in Alaska tend to be higher in general. Overall, even though I've only been once, I'd definitely come back for that Ube Croffle -- it was the real highlight!
