About a month ago, I stopped in because my vehicle registration was overdue. I was actually on my way to the DMV and only stopped here because someone recommended that I ask a few questions. My goal was to get custom license plates, and I was assured they could handle everything for me.
I paid approximately $1,150, which included the registration, late fees, custom plates, and their service fee.
At the time, they told me their computers were down and asked me to send proof of insurance. I did. They replied that it was difficult to read, so I immediately sent it again. They thanked me, and then...nothing. Nearly an entire month went by without any communication.
I finally reached out because no one had contacted me. The owner, Gary, insisted he had messaged me on the 22nd. When I asked for proof, he later admitted the message had never actually gone through. In other words, they knew I hadn't been notified, yet no one made any effort to contact me another way.
After a month of waiting, I told them I would just go to the DMV myself. Gary then said he would personally take care of it on Thursday morning. When Thursday arrived, I received a call from his wife informing me that the custom plate I originally requested was unavailable, so they had gone ahead and processed standard plates instead.
That completely defeated the purpose of using their service. If I wanted standard plates, I could have gone to the DMV myself the day I originally planned to. I specifically paid them because I wanted custom plates and was told they would call me if there were any issues so I could choose another plate. That phone call never came.
To make matters worse, instead of taking responsibility for the lack of communication and delays, I was spoken to unprofessionally when I tried to resolve the issue. As the customer, I should not have had to repeatedly call and follow up to receive a service that I paid for over a month earlier.
If I hadn't reached out, I genuinely believe nothing would have happened.
I have requested a full refund and expect it to be honored. If it is not, I will pursue the appropriate legal remedies.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. Poor communication, failure to deliver the service that was promised, and unprofessional customer service made this an extremely frustrating experience.
