No price transparency, over priced, my items smelled weird in a bad way and I didn't even get an itemized receipt. She was extremely friendly when I walked in, super transparent about everything (including price where she saved me some $$), and the cost was extremely reasonable with a fast turnaround time. The one start reviews of Give and Go are horribly offbase. I've been using them for cleaning and alterations weekly for 13 years. They altered my wife's wedding dress, my tuxedo and numerous pairs of pants for me in that period along with measuring my daughter so that we could order clothing online. They're a family operation and extremely reliable. If you come during the rush period in the morning and early evening and expect to be measured for alterations at the drop of a hat you're being extremely unreasonable. I'm found them nothing but kind and considerate in my weekly dealings. read more

Reading these reviews...I'm a little confused. Yes, it's not a cheerful operation (and maybe I didn't care because I had an emergency situation), but the tailoring work was amazing! She also put a rush on it for me and got it done in just one day so I could take both pairs of pants on my trip to Portugal. I did have to beg a little bit, but it was so appreciated and I was in such a bind. I actually didn't see these reviews before taking my pants in to get tailored because my friend recommended this place and she was able to remove fabric from other parts of my pants to give me some extra room in the torso. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT use this place for alterations. The older lady who use to hem and service alterations is no longer here and her daughter n law is clueless on hemming and alterations. I spent a nice penny for alterations on dresses and they messed up my alterations. Went in to let her know and tried on the items, since she didn't believe me and she tried pinning again and Stevie Wonder could see, it was about to be a disaster. At this point, asked her to pls stop as I can't risk them damaging my items further. Had to call the police and now file a civil claim against the business!! Totally unacceptable!!! read more

Cashier is very combative and irrational. I paid for several items to be dry cleaned and altered since I live in the area. Last time I came in the cashier tried to give me women slacks and insisted I didn't bring any men's trousers. She said she rolled back the tapes which was obviously a lie because I tried them on for alterations. She was very disrespectful and argumentative. My items have been put under the WRONG name altered wrong (ie I asked for no cuff and there was a cuff) I had to pay for the mistake. I asked for certain alterations and the cashier told me that she didn't think it needed to be altered when it was clearly too big. She would not comply with my request. I went to a suit store and they gave me no argument. I had two pair of pants that were lost. Once we found them I asked that the correct alterations I requested be made because they were not altered the way we discussed. The lady charged me for the alterations in advance. I told her I didn't feel comfortable with that since they were not done properly in the first place and considering they couldn't even find them to begin with. She argued with me and told me she was not charging me for the redo. The redo that should not have happened due to her lack of communication. Wow. How generous! Never again!!!! read more

Two stars because their dry cleaning, though on the pricier side is decent. The tailor/alterations service however, leaves too much to be desired. First, I paid over $90 for a bridesmaid dress alteration. They originally quoted me 60-70, which I thought might be fine since some of the boning needed to be moved. But of course, less than a week before the wedding, they're holding my dress, what else can i do but cough up the $$? Wedding was in NY -- of 5 bridesmaids all of whom live in Manhattan except for me...paid LESS than I did for alterations. That's right, glenwood park is more expensive than manhattan now. the kicker is: it was a strapless dress, and THE DRESS WAS STILL TOO BIG. It felt snug at the dry cleaners, but as soon as I started moving around at the wedding, I was holding up the dress the whole night. Really lame. I thought about calling and demanding a refund, but really, not worth it. But I won't be going there again for alterations. read more

This place is no Executive Cleaners! The only reason I ever go here is to drop off someone else's d/c and pick it up. The ladies who run it are nice and friendly but not to the point where I want to earn a sky miles reward trip in two visits. Most dry cleaning is sent out and the store front is just that - take the money, give back the clothes. Pretty hard to fvck that up and they don't here, it's just prohibitively expensive. I drive to Smyrna and the same 20 or 30 items is never more than $40 or $50 (mostly shirts for $1). I've had a few alterations done here and while they do an okay job (mostly sewing buttons back on my trousers b/c I'm very lazy and not too handy with a needle). Again, expensive little button$ but a good job nonetheless. All the money I save by not going here has me wanting to start a hedge fund. read more

Give n Go cleaners is the only dry cleaner in the Glenwood / Ormewood park area. The two girls who work there are always friendly and always remember my name - great customer service. It is very accessible off of Glenwood Ave. and I've been using them for 5 years. They are a little more expensive than most dry cleaners I have used, but for the convenience I'll pay the difference . I've had some minor alterations done with no problems. They also offer same day dry cleaning service if you have your things in before 8. Give-n-go is A-ok in my book. read more

If you need it done in 24 hrs do not go. I specifically said I needed a suit cleaned for the next day because of an interview out of town. The following day when I showed up to pick it up it was not ready. When I went later in the week to pick it up their reply to the inconvenience of finding a new suit within an hour to having to leave town was $1 off the price (my jaw dropped). She tried to hold my skirt hostage when I said that the price was too much and not what I had been quoted. "PLASTIC PLACED BACK OVER SAME DIRTY CLOTHES I DROPPED OFF"! We've been coming to this cleaners for a few months because it was conveniently located next to the Snap Fitness on Glenwood. I noticed our clothes weren't always as crisply ironed after a few pick-ups so recently when I had an important meeting and pulled the plastic off of a suit I dropped off to be cleaned and pressed and noticed not only was it not ironed, but the same stains were still there along along with hairs from my pet still on the pants leg. That's when I realized my clothes were never cleaned just "PLASTIC PLACED BACK OVER THE SAME DIRTY CLOTHES I DROPPED OFF"! Needless to say after checking to see my husband's shirts were also still stained and not pressed and after paying $28 and wondering how many other times and to how many other patrons this has happened to, I will never give my money to this cleaners again. read more

I've had great experiences here. Definitely a decent place to bring your dry cleaning plus all my clothes came back smelling awesome!

I started using this cleaners because I workout at Snapfitness at the corner. Today my wife and I assessed the quality of cleaning, we realized the clothes were not cleaned or ironed, dog hair still on it. Stains still there and everything; word to the wise before you run out of there with your laundry remove the plastic and look at your clothes. I had some jeans dry cleaned here at the cleaner and they shrunk my jeans. I took a receipt from the department store showing the cost of the jeans and expected to be paid for my jeans. Especially since they did shrink them. Instead they decided to take the jeans of mine back to the department store along with the receipt that I provided and returned the jeans on my personal store charge account. Very crafty!! Used them once because the location was convenient and all dry cleaners are basically alike, right? Wrong. If I had taken the sweater out of the plastic and really looked at it before I paid and left, they'd have had to do the job over. Still had dog-park dirt on the hem, and hadn't been de-pilled. I could swear it had just been freshened the way I could do myself with a Dryel kit, then neatly folded into the hanger. It was unwearable. Look, I know cleaners can't work miracles. There are permanent stains sometimes, or weird fabrics that won't dry-clean well. What any cleaner can do - and what they have always done at places on the pricier side - is either tell you in advance that an item may be cleanable, or point out what they weren't able to fix when you pick it up. At the very least, the pills should be shaved from a wool sweater. read more

I've had other cleaners damage buttons, lose belts, and return uncleaned closes. But give and go consistently provides high quality service, friendly staff, and the location is great for me. Give&Go Cleaners is very trustworthy with their services and the workers are always super friendly. They take extra care and time to clean any dirty spots on clothes and especially suggest their alteration repairs and tailor for girls! I recently went to style up my pair of jeans with ragged stitches and added fabric patches - love it much more than the original! I've been using them for 8 years and can honestly say that they offer the best service whether it's dry cleaning, wash&fold, alteration, etc. In case of unremovable stains/spots, they take in for another clean without extra charges. Horrible customer service. I recently had several sweaters cleaned here. As I began wearing them and would take them off inside out, I discovered they all had brown gunk on the insides. I took them back to be redone. The woman didn't say much - just accepted them and I believed she'd operate her business in good faith. Make their wrong right. When I went to pick them up again she not only tried to charge me again but she also said they couldn't clean the inside - funny bc two were now clean but two still had the gunk on them. She seemed to think this was fine bc you couldn't see it on the outside. She then accused me of spilling chocolate on the inside. How would I spill food on the inside of 4 sweaters? After making a huge scene she finally let me take my sweaters without paying - granted I still have to take two of them elsewhere to be cleaned. I've been using this place for about a decade but they've lost my business. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would! I had them alter a very nice pair of pants that I purchased as part of a suit. They cut a hole in the pants and patched it up with super glue and a piece of cloth and charged me full price for the alteration with no mention of the cut. When I noticed the patch job and brought it back to them the woman I spoke to immediately denied that they cut the pants. She tried to say that I must have had the pants altered somewhere else even though before I said anything I had her pull up the ticket for the alteration!!!! Then she changed her story to say that the other chick did the alteration and she's not there right now so I have to come back. I come back and the other woman says she found the cut and tried to fix it for me!!! Seriously, a brand new pair of pants that have never been worn magically have a perfect scissor cut exactly where I asked you to make an alteration!!!! That's likely. And if they had found the cut as they claim, why would they not tell me that they found the cut instead of charging me full price for the alteration and not mentioning the special fix job that they did for me. To date I have been back 3 times and have not been able to speak to the invisible manager Andy who has no last name and apparently cannot be reach via phone. When I went back today the told me that I have to give them the pants for them to reimburse me. As I mentioned, these were purchased as part of a suit. I don't even know if I can replace them. They've got another thing coming if they think I'm just going to hand over the pants. These people are liars, cheaters and really shitty at their job. After using Give n Go Cleaners for 3 years it's clear the quality of service has been declining recently. Continued to bring my cloths here even after moving out of the Glenwood neighborhood. My last interaction with the business will be my last. I have looked past the incosistent fees for dry cleaning and alterations, I'm pretty sure the price is whatever the person working the computer decides for it to be. When a dress shirt of mine that had been worn once was returned to me with stains that were not on there when I dropped it off, I expected the business to correct the mistake. They tried cleaning it again with no change in the stain. After going back multiple weeks in a row to talk about a solution, management decides that a $20 credit is sufficient (The shirt is $80 brand new). Even after offering the credit they still would not admit the stain was caused by them. Not sure if ownership has change in the past 6 months, but this is no longer a reliable place. read more

Give N Go Cleaners has been exceptional. I patronize them at least once per week and the level of service has always been friendly and professional. They know my name and in some cases will have the clothes ready for pick up when they see me pulling up to park. On one occasion, an expensive shirt was misplaced but they replaced the shirt with cash upon presentation of my receipt. They eventually located the shirt and gave it back to me a sincere apology. "Cash plus the Shirt" was the best way to provide second mile service and I am a huge supporter of this business. The staff and service is great! read more

This place is absolutely horrible and a HUGE rip-off. I brought in a $19 pair of plain cotton curtains and wanted them to be cut in half lengthwise and sewn up, essentially making 4 curtains out of 2. They were grommet panels, and it was a simple clean cut without any layers to deal with. I honestly would have cut them in half myself and asked them just to sew the straight line from top to bottom on each if I had known they were going to charge me $80 for this simple job! There is no possible way it could have taken longer than 45 minutes at most for the two curtains to be cut in half and then sewn in a straight line up each unfinished edge. Very disappointed that the women there were not able to discuss the situation properly and instead could only draw a picture and yell "no money back!" to my husband whom I had sent to pick up the curtains, not knowing they were going to charge him an outrageous amount of money. They simply are not fair and honest in their assesment of prices - it's too bad that i'll have to travel farther to find an alterations place that can accommodate simple sewing needs at a fair price. read more
