I came in at 12:03pm and told Kim I needed my son's patches sewn on his uniform. She told me his patches were from her country and gave me a quick lesson on his South Korean patch. She said ok, "tomorrow at 5." I closed my eyes and she replied, "ok...today at 5." I closed my eyes again and she asked me "is this urgent?" I told her it was ok and that I would take the jacket back so he could have it for today, but I'd come back the next morning and he'd have it for the next class (Thursday) since there would be a 1-2 day turn around. She said "no, I'll have it by 1 today!" It was ready and waiting for me when I returned at 12:50pm. I shall title this review "Great Expectations" I don't know why I do this to myself; why do I sometimes get my hopes up for no apparent reason? By this point 1-Stop Dry Cleaners is my cleaners of choice; it's just not at all convenient for me. My closet was looking very Mother Hubbard as I had not had a chance to pick up my goods from Sammy at 1-Stop. Worse yet, I had another bag that needed cleaning. With time at a premium I decided to expand my circle of providers. I made a pit stop at Joinus Dry Cleaners. Just a short hobble from Atlantic Station I was hoping Joinus would become my #1 backup. The dry cleaner at Atlantic Station is really not an option but I needed something solid and in close proximity to A.S. I was crossing my fingers. Walking in it was very apparent this would be a different experience. Unlike Sammy at 1-Stop, there would be no friendly conversation like that I've become accustomed to. No small talk, no heads up about some interesting book, article, conversation etc. that I might have an interest in. Hell, there was no smile, but business is business. If they could do the job at a reasonable cost I would chalk up the losses to outsourcing. I would have to count my own items and tell the young lady the total. I would be leaving 11 items (3 suits, 3 shirts, 1 sweater, 1 jean). As this was a Wednesday, my items would be available on Friday. Returning on Saturday, I would encounter the same non-smile, the same lack of conversation, the same bland experience as before. As all of my items were well "packaged" I knew this would not be a bargain but I was already confident nothing would be sub par. The tally was $42. I wasn't feeling too good about the total and about 20 minutes later I would feel worse when I arrived at 1-Stop Dry Cleaner to pick up 2 suits, 4 shirts, 2 pants, 1 sweater, and 1 pair of jeans....for $32. Of course, Sammy made me feel at home, asked about my Easter plans, offered me some chocolate and told me about a cool article I should read. On top of that he told me to take care until he saw me next time. I likely will only return to Joinus if I am desperate and can't get to 1-Stop Dry Cleaners. I am very picky when it comes to dry cleaners and this place has earned my approval. They do a very good, professional job, and really take the time to do things properly. For example, one time I forgot to remove my collar stays from my shirts when I dropped them off. When I picked them up, I found they had removed them for me and put them in a small baggie attached to my dry cleaning. Some other places would have just left them in, pressed the collar with stays still inside, and destroyed the collar. The first trip I had wrinkles pressed into my clothes and the lady was pretty rude to me. I had a bad impression but figured I would give it another try. What a mistake. The 2nd time, I was originally told it would be ready Thursday at 5pm when I dropped it off Tuesday at 8:45am. I was not happy with the turnaround time but figured I was already there, so oh well. Thursday at 6pm: "Sorry, we had some problems and your clothes won't be ready until the morning. Come by at 8am or after and you can get them." Friday at 8:30am: "So there are half your clothes, the rest won't be here until later today". So it essentially took her a week to do my dry cleaning, all while being rude and unfriendly. So I went to this business for the first time with the intention of getting a couple of lab coats altered (specifically sleeve hemming). I had gone to a couple places near my house and believed one was overpriced and the other was unable to provide me a price. The two folks working there were pleasant and I was quoted what I thought was a reasonable price for the alterations plus press. She asked if Tuesday pick up was okay, but I requested Monday by 5pm and she was agreeable. I returned on Monday after 5pm and was told the items were altered but not pressed, which made me grumpy. However, when I returned today, she immediately took responsibility for the mistake, apologized for the inconvenience, and gave me 10% off. Now that's good business practice. I'll be back. read more

First off, the shirt was brand new when it was taken to your store. I inspected it myself, there were no stains, if there were I would not have purchased it. So it makes sense that there was no orange sticker on the shirt...Because there was no stain! So, I physically took off the shirt, and handed it to you and walked out with no shirt? Really? No, I was wearing a shirt and handed YOU the stained shirt that is in question and you said..."Did you wear the shirt"? I said, yes, I did wear it as mentioned to you and in my review of your store. Then you advised me that I would have to pay again to have this stain that was not there before I took it to you removed. No we did finish, you said I would have to pay for this again and since you didn't care to look in your system to see I have been a customer for over 2 years and never had an issue like this in the past, you obviously didn't care that was concerned. I recently took my suit here to be dry-cleaned, lured by the Delta miles. However, it turned out to be a poor choice. They called me saying that there was a rip in the suit pants. When I went in to look at it, there was a huge rip down the back. When I brought the pants into the cleaners, they were NOT ripped at all. It still baffles me how they could've ripped it so badly and not taken the blame. Tonight, after having to purchase new suit pants to match the jacket, my wife & I realized that there is a small hole in the jacket as well!! What the....??!! It can be annoying if the delivery is late (only happened once), but I don't mind that much. Horrible customer service because the woman at the counter had a huge attitude problem when I simply asked her about the cost to dry clean a blazer. She did not hide her disdain and annoyance at me, but I decided to give this place a try, since it was right next to my apartment complex at the time. There was nothing wrong with the dry cleaning or the price, but that woman at the counter always treated me with an air of haughty annoyance. We have been long term customers at Joinus and are happy with the care they show to our clothes. I have a dress with sequins down the front and they hand clean it for me. Whenever they cannot get a spot out, they always flag it and add a note. If my pants don't have a crease down the front they never put one in and I don't have to say anything to them. The service is decent enough, but I am giving 1 star due to my experience there. I took in 8 shirts and 2 pairs of pants last week. Most places this is about a $20 bill. When I picked them up, they charged my more than $40!!!!!!!!!! When I complained, they claimed they had to give me an extra charge because my shirts are larger (I'm an XXL) and because of the buttons?!?! After going to another alterations place that straight up told me that the white dress I brought in couldn't be altered due to the beads--I was panicking. I needed the dress to be brought up by just an inch or two, and I specifically wanted to wear this dress for my wedding night reception! However, my sweet fiancé didn't want to give up and we stumbled across Joinus! She was super sweet and patient. She truly listened to my concerns and recommended that I didn't bring it up because of the pricing! She literally came up with another idea that wouldn't ruin my dress, saved her heavy labor work and made me happy! My experience with Joinus Cleaners was easily the "WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I'VE ENCOUNTERED TO DATE". Not only is their dry cleaning service MEDIOCRE, they're overpriced... and even worse than that, they LOSE the clothes you pay them to clean. Case in point, I recently took a total of "13" pieces, which was clearly indicated on my original receipt, to this establisment. When I arrived 3 days later to pick up my items I presented the "manager" with my receipt. She gave me my items and I assumed it was all there. When I arrived home and prepared to hang my clothes I noticed I was MISSING one of my suit pants. I called Joinus to let them know I was missing a pair of pants and received a voice message saying their inbox was full...first indication they were TROUBLE! When I went to the store the next business day I spoke with the "manager" again. I explained that I was missing a pair of pants and needed them to be found and returned. She immediately tells me they didn't make an error - before she even checked into the matter. She then prints a different receipt that indicates only "12" items were submitted. When I asked her to print the original receipt that was given to me when I dropped my clothes off she stated that she didn't have the capability to print it. After a few minutes of going back and forth with her she made a half-a$$ed attempt to appease me by telling me she would search for my pants...in a room that I'm sure was filled with thousands of black pants! Really! I felt like my intelligence was being INSULTED and realized that this was going nowhere. Because they RECREATED a different receipt, they covered themselves and left me with no legitimate argument and because she did not have the ability to reprint the original receipt I was given, I had no evidence to support my claim. She claimed that she would contact me if she finds my black pants, after telling me earlier that they don't have it (not holding my breath)! I may be out of luck this time around, but if you're reading this review my hope is that you don't make the same MISTAKE I made. read more

After not hearing from them for 10 days, I called to inquire about my shoes. They told me they had been repaired and I owed them $40. I brought numerous dress shirts to be cleaned and they ALL came back pressed yet UNCLEANED. When I asked about this, they said it would have cost an extra 1$ to be dry cleaned. Firstly, when did the definition of Clean mean something different? According to them, they were laundered which includes the shirts to be pressed but does not mean it will be cleaned while dry cleaning would have completed the task. Interesting translation of this type of work. They should recognize that dry cleaning is for special garments, not cotton dress shirts. Since when did the definition of clean become different in the dictionary? Cleaned means cleaned, not just pressed. When I reached and requested a refund, they denied my request. When I asked them to have a discount for their failure they resented and said no. I try to be nice and reach out halfway and they can't recognize their own failure to do a proper job or their failure to communicate better with their clients up front or even reach middle ground. That's an utter business failure. I repeat, do not go there. I wanted my shirts cleaned, not just pressed. It's a simple business model, we drop off the clothes, they get cleaned, and you get them back CLEANED, Apparently, I am mistaken on the English definition-CLEAN. That's a new one!
