So happy I took my bridesmaid dress here for alterations. She did great work, it was done on time, and it was very affordable. I was afraid it was going to be difficult to do or obvious that alterations had been made because of the extensive boning in the top of the dress, but my worries were all alleviated when I picked it up. So it turns out that after 2 years of covid none of my suits fit. And I need a suit for a wedding in a few weeks. I take my dry cleaning and shirts to Highland and Mimi, one of the owners is always bust at the sewing machine when she's not waiting on customers. I admit to gender bias. I'm not sure what the difference is between a tailor and a seamstress. but I've always been skeptical about getting suits tailored by a seamstress. I know, I know, it's irrational. So Mimi let out the jacket, moved a button, let out the pants and repaired the cuff that had torn loose. And my favorite suit now fits again!! Mimi had some very useful advice as well: "You need to lose weight." She did not charge for the advice. Note: Highland is the first dry cleaner I've been to where they simply use the last four digits of your mobile phone number to keep track of your cleaning. Dropped off a vintage satin gown for a hem and dry clean. $70 later and I received a note saying "couldn't get the stain out sorry!" And in fact they had burned the fabric. I'm sure they're great for your day-to-day stuff, but do not bring nice clothes that you care about here. read more

Terrible experience. Went in on a Thursday before 11am drop off work blazer with hole in the inside, two dresses with an hole on the sides, pants that are now dazyshorts and love them. I was told it would be ready on Tuesday. Went into the office on Tuesday @ 12, dude talking about come back @ 5, I told him I can't my stuff been here for days and I'm here now to pick up items now that was a problem He told me to price before I left Thursday $44 and now here I come to pick them up here come a new price $48 such a horrible business practice I won't be returning read more

Located on the Highland walk in a really nice and cute little part of town. A few other shops and restaurants around. Doors were wide open as it was a really nice day and this place looks like they see a lot of business judging from the amount of clothes I could see. Easy to get to, parking was easy, lots of free street parking. 4 Stars because I've never used this dry cleaner before but I'll update once I pick up the clothes tomorrow (next day service is also a plus!!) **Update!!** Picked up the dry cleaning and it looked pretty good. I don't really know correct pricing for dry cleaning but suits were 10.50 and shirts were 1.75 which doesn't seem super expensive to me. We've had a problem with sending items off to the dry cleaners and getting them back pressed but not necessarily cleaned (under arms still stunk on shirts and suits) but only one out of three jackets had this issue and it wasn't terrible. I took the jacket back and they said they would re-do it for free for pick up the next day. All in all not a bad experience **Second update** Had to take off one more star. Picked up the jacket that got cleaned again and the under arm smell was still there but it seemed like there had been an attempt to mask it with some sort of deodorizer. Honestly not sure how dry cleaning works but my boyfriend asked that we try somewhere else. read more

Terrible experience. Went in on a Saturday to bring in a fairly expensive shirt that i needed cleaned for a trip the following week. I was told it would be ready days later on Tuesday. Went into the office on Weds, the next day. It was 5 pm and the office was closed and ligjts were off. Hours clearly read they are open until 6:30. Called back the next day and they claimed they were open the whole time. Went in that same day and they presented me with the same dirty shirt i gave them wrapped in plastic. They claimed they did not know the shirt had a stain, and told me to come back the following Monday and it would be ready. Came back Monday and they no longer had my shirt. Told me to come back today. Called today, almost 2 weeks later and my shirt is still missing. If i don't receive my shirt in the next few days i will take the necessary steps needed to get my shirt or be compensated. read more

I agree with the other Yelper who posted about the owner(?)'s supercilious attitude. The woman was borderline rude and the prices are overblown. I dropped off shirts to be cleaned and a pair of jeans to have the zipper replaced. When I dropped them off the woman wasn't friendly but it didn't bother me. Parking is getting tougher since the new development has been put in on Highland. But when I came to pick them up, the woman just kept scrolling through the clothes and she couldn't find them. This went on for a few minutes. Finally, I saw them go by, so I started to say "they're right there" and she said "SHHH" and did the "zip it" gesture. WTF? So she just kept on pushing the button and we both stood there for about 3 minutes watching the carousel go around and around. Finally they came around again, and she got them. I asked for the jeans. She couldn't find these either, and looked all around the back area before finally discovering them. I don't need my drycleaner to be the friendliest person ever, but I'm certainly not going to bring business to someone who is rude. It was $46 for 6 shirts and the jeans. I won't be back. read more

I don't know how I went this long without reviewing these guys. They can tailor anything you take in there and sew up anything. They took in shirts and jackets for me, hemmed pants, and repaired backpacks for me. ...And the prices were the best I've ever seen outside of an army town. (You wouldn't believe how much competition there is to clean and starch uniforms.) I was disappointed with every other cleaner I used in town, and I miss these guys now that I've moved away to Pittsburgh. (I'm back to rude, inconvenient, expensive dry cleaners again.) Sam's definitely a cool dog, too. He used to bark his head off when he was a puppy, but he's matured into quite a little gentleman. He acts like he runs the place now. He's learned that stretching his paw out and lightly scratching customers' legs will get him petted every time he does it. Check it out; I dare you to try to resist the power of the cute. read more

This cleaner is located in the lobby floor of my apartment building and I am so glad they do! I've never had any issue here - the owners seem to be a husband and wife couple that are always so pleasant and happy to see any dogs that come in with their owners. Their prices are not bad at all. I haven't been here for alterations yet but will definitely plan to when the need arises! Okay, so most dry cleaners can clean your clothes, iron them flawlessly and hem your pants. But, Highland Cleaners has something no one else in Atlanta has..... Sam, the coolest dog ever! Seriously, my boyfriend will drive 2 miles away from his closest dry cleaner to bring his clothes here to Highland because everyone should get a weekly dose of Sam love. This dog might be the smartest animal on the planet. He sits quietly on the counter and then taps you on the leg as if to say, "ummm, excuse me, but isn't it your sole purpose in life to pet me?" So you pet him and then turn back to the owner to pay, pick up clothes, etc. and again you fill this little nudge, "umm...hello did I say you should stop?" Go visit Sam. Today! read more

I found Sesame Street! We know dry cleaning centers these days are pretty much the same (as it relates to how they get your clothes back to wearable); but finding the one ,as we wish with all our service relationships, that cares about what is going on with you, family, friends and brings that to bear on the quality of their work is what makes my trip to the cleaners pretty special. This is not a perfect relationship but when there is an exception or we fall below the unreasonable expectation of perfection we work it out and it is always worked out in the interest of the customer/client. Mimi, who is the proprietor ,is the best has the coolest sidekick in a dog named Sam. Mimi don't ever get rid of the pooch; he's the greatest marketing tool ever. This is my new cleaners. I walked in on a lunch break needing my new suit pants hemmed and taken out a bit because I love carbs. The super nice lady very quickly took care of me and sent me on my way. Showed up a couple days later before 5 pm and my alterations were done alongside cleaning my suit. Also they only charged $11 for cleaning my suit. The alteration was a bit steep at $22, but it was very well done and worth it. read more

The staff is friendly and very flexible! They were able to get my load turned around in 24 hours to make sure my dress was ready an event that weekend. Their hours are reduced due to COVID, but they are good about answering the phone if you have any answers about it. read more

I bought a suit last minute on a Saturday and I needed the pants altered for work on Monday morning. Not only did they do the alterations on the same day (a Saturday!), they did it in **less than 10 minutes*** while I waited! I cannot describe how awesome that is, saved me an entire trip! You cannot ask for better service. (Btw, they are right next store to an ice cream/coffee place that makes a great latte while you wait.) Plus, they only charged ten dollars!! Also, they are both open until six on Saturday and at 7:00 am on Monday. A rare combination which is better than almost every cleaner. It is worth noting that I found them to be very friendly and professional. There was a rude customer in the store at the time complaining about something or other and they handled the situation with incredible tact and grace. My zipper broke on my favorite pair of vintage Levi's, so I decided to check this place out. They, without a doubt, did the most BEAUTIFUL job of replacing a zipper I have ever seen. Very clean stitch work, you can't even tell ANYWHERE along the zipper length that it isn't the original zipper. Highly recommend them, they have such great attention to detail! read more

I took eight items in to be laundered and dry cleaned. I wanted at least four or more to be laundered for sure. I explained this. She takes the shirts, gives me my ticket and off I go. Later I realize I've been charged 36.50 for eight items. When I go back and ask for an explanation, I get the usual BS runaround about how it's impossible to launder practically anything, and I stupidly concede and pay up. Later I checked. At least one or two pair of pants could have easily been laundered (khakis) and three shirts were button downs and easy to launder (cotton, linen, and polyester). I specifically asked them to launder these. But no can do. So irritating and unaccommodating, and so entirely sure she knew what was best. The place next to the Albert up the street just charged me eight bucks to do four shirts. Go figure. read more

All major alterations are done offsite. Avoid them! I have been taking all of my clothes to Highland Cleaners for months, so I decided to get a bridesmaid's dress altered there.... biggest mistake ever. I am out $80 and they alterations are terrible. It took them 2 tries. I took the dress to them a week and a half from the wedding day. They said they could do it and said I could come back in three days. I showed up and tried to zip the dress. The dress had been altered making it 2 sizes smaller! I told them I needed the dress for an out of town wedding and it had to be done quickly. She told me to come back in 2 days at lunch time. That was today. I showed up and she told me the dress wasn't done yet. I informed her that regardless, I wanted the dress and that I would take in somewhere else. She said "don't worry it will be fine". If it wasn't a bridesmaid's dress for a friend's wedding I really wouldn't have cared, but it was. She then called someone who was doing the alterations. This is when I found out they were done offsite. She told me to come back in 30 minutes. I did and found my dress crumpled on a table. They put the dress back on me and it barely fit. I took the dress and my dry cleaning. They charged me $60 for alterations. I will never set foot in there again. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I had to share my experience from yesterday. I had dropped of a bridesmaid dress to be shortened (simple alteration), and picked it up yesterday. I noticed that it had dirt/grease all over the bottom. This was a dress I had never worn and had taken straight from its package to Highland Cleaners. It was so obvious that the person who shortened it had gotten dirt or grease from their hands all over the bottom of the dress. There was literally a fingerprint. The owner (woman) refused to admit this even though I tried to explain to her that this was a brand new dress and there were not stains on it when I dropped it off. I argued back and forth with her and she didn't apologize once. So I paid her half the amount of the alternation (luckily she agreed to this), and I took it to another dry cleaner (the one on Elizabeth Street, which is great btw), and the owner there even said, "Oh yes, she got this dirty when she altered it, it's very obvious." So now I'll have to pay to have this dress dry cleaned that I've never worn, due to this woman's screw-up. **And for the record, a few years back, I dropped off my New Year's Eve dress here to be shortened. A day or two before NYE, I go to pick it up and they tell me they weren't able to shorten it because of the zipper in the back. 1) They never mentioned this when I dropped it off and 2) A call would have been nice so I could have had time to get a new dress. I shouldn't have given them another chance after that, but I did. Fool me twice, shame on me, I guess! read more

I don't know what happened to this cleaners, but it is a shame that they can keep reviews up for years; Otherwise they would have a 2 star review that accurately reflects them. I brought in an expensive sweater with a slight pinhole in it. I was told the it could be fix with no problem. When I picked it up the whole had been "attempted" to be fixed by sewing in a big "X" over the little in hole. It was done so shabbily that I looked like a 2 year old did it. When I brought it back and ask about it the women said, quote " I am only a person, not a machine. What do you want from me?" My sweater was totally ruined and not only would they not pay for it, but when I asked if they could at least credit me for some cleaning or something in the future (stupidly assuming that this might be an isolated incident) I was told that they would do nothing for me, and I could take them to court if I wanted. read more

I've had jackets and things altered at Macy's and a few different mom & pop shops and they just make a few simple adjustments and call it a day, leaving you something that may fit better than when you brought it in, but it's not quite made just for you. Extremely disappointed in their service. I dropped off a 2 piece outfit on that I needed for a Saturday wedding. Pickup was to be after 5 on that Friday. When I arrived I was informed that they couldn't clean my top because it has a layer of beading and they worried it would melt. I pointed out that the sheer layer of beading is completely detached and the silk shirt beneath is what needed spots removed. She apologized, still charged me for cleaning my pants, and now I have to try to get the spots out myself because it's 6pm on a Friday and I have to be an hour away tomorrow for my wedding.
