I'm sharing my experience with Glacier Health and Development in hopes it helps others navigating care during difficult times. While I initially felt supported by Robin Usher, Ph.D., LPC, NCC (he/they), and his assistant Khan, the experience ultimately left me feeling dismissed. Khan was consistently kind and communicative, but Robin seemed to withdraw once my situation required more administrative involvement -- including records requests and billing concerns (which were eventually resolved). The seven-year window to access my records was nearing its expiration, and since medical providers are legally allowed to destroy files after that point, I needed as much support as possible to obtain them. Unfortunately, I've often faced resistance from clinical providers who assume my intentions for requesting complete records are somehow suspicious or manipulative. My goal, however, was simply to construct a clear and complete timeline of what has often felt like a farcical journey through the mental health system. In a world where educational records are preserved for 75 years, I had hoped Robin might help challenge a system that routinely diminishes or disregards people's rights to their own medical history. In August 2023, I began working with a therapist at the practice and had started building trust and stability. However, by mid-September, services were abruptly terminated at Robin's direction with no clear explanation or transition. The sudden halt -- especially during a sensitive point in my treatment -- felt ethically questionable and destabilizing. This experience echoes a broader issue in the mental health system: administrative or liability concerns overriding client care. For those dealing with PTSD or anxiety, consistent support isn't optional -- it's essential. To be clear, the therapist I worked with provided excellent care. My concerns are entirely about the administrative decisions that cut that care short without proper closure. Glacier may be a fit for those with moderate needs, but this is not the place I would consider safe or equipped for those in need of truly empathic, sustained support. There was a noticeable lack of depth and soul in the way this situation was handled, and that kind of corporate detachment just doesn't resonate with me. Promises were made but never kept, and I'm left feeling like my time and struggles were wasted.
