Well I came here based on a referral from a good friend of mine. I also checked the reviews which were not bad. Unfortunately I was not enthused about my experience. They were supposed to open at 9am. They did not and when they did open they relied on the customers to say who was first, second, etc. The entire salon is that of an open concept from front to back. The salon is very small and there is a serious need for renovations and some upgrading. There were two stylist on the day I went. Heidi was my stylist (again based on a referral). She took me right away and she did good job. I doubt if I will go back. FYI. they do not have heat, so there was limited hot water and it was cold outside on the day I went so you already know it was frozen inside. read more

Wow, I don't think I've ever felt so disrespected at a salon before. I walked in today looking for a wash and set and no one greeted me or asked what I needed in the 20 minutes I was waiting. There were lots of patrons and workers who would periodically look over at me but not engage at all. Finally, one woman asked if I needed a wash and pointed at a chair by a sink. I sat down and waited for another 10 minutes, while they seated someone else at the sink next to me to get started on her. As a Black woman, I've been to other Dominican salons where I've felt like any other client, but here I felt invisible and frankly unwelcome. Wouldn't recommend at all! 0 stars tbh read more

The vibe is giving family. The quality is impeccable. They got me in last-minute on a holiday at that. They had smiles and were happy to help even though it was Thanksgiving. worst salon experience ever, I would give 0 stars if I could. save your money & hair. I went to this salon b/c it got many good reviews on here. I needed a color, wash & blow. I got there at 9:30am since I had work at 3pm, they told me I would be done on time & Gladys would be there in 30mins. She didn't get there til 11am. 1st strike. I told her I wanted copper, she said she needed to bleach my hair. Mind you, my hair is light brown & blonde. I told her she DIDN'T need to bleach my hair since it was already blonde. She said she wouldn't use too much lightener. 2 hours later I was still at the sink & I pulled out my phone camera; my whole head is bleached even though I told her not to. She proceeds to put the "copper" on. I told her leave my ends blonde so the copper fades into it like an ombre. Keep in mind it's 2pm now, I said I had work at 3. She skips deep conditioning my hair with the products I brought after she DOUBLE PROCESS BLEACHED MY HAIR AGAINST MY WILL & goes straight to blow drying. I finally see my hair in the mirror; my hair is ORANGE, not COPPER. The color I asked for was not the color I got b/c it showed up way lighter on my head after she unnecessarily bleached my hair. I left the salon AT 3pm (mind you I start work at 3 so I was late). I asked 3 times in the beginning how much the color will be, they kept dodging the question & telling me it won't be that much. She charged me $250 for the ugliest color job I've ever seen after giving me whatever color SHE wanted to. Even 2 hairdressers I went to after to color correct said she did a horrible job & botched my hair. To top it off, my hair was immediately frizzy right after I left, this pic is me 20mins after I left the salon & took out the wrapped bobby pins. It's Dec, there's no reason my hair should look sweated out like this. They didn't even blow dry my hair well. I take very good care of my hair & this dumb lady damaged it in the matter of 2 hours. Now I need to wait at least a month to color correct b/c she put peroxide on my whole head for no reason. I've dyed my own hair before, you put developer in the color dye to lighten the hair. There's no reason to bleach the hair separately & put more unnecessary chemicals/damage. I immediately cried when I left, I've never looked & felt uglier. Do NOT go here. I've been taking my daughter here for over a year for a wash and blow dry. Everytime it's time to pay they give me a different price. Regular price is $45 they charge me $55 because she has a lot of hair, then they said $65 so I told the owner Gladys that we are keeping it at that and everytime I come in they can't charge me a different price because they toggle the price everytime. Sometimes they say $55, sometimes $60 sometimes $65 sometimes $75, this time I came in they said $80, they've tried to charge over that as well. Gladys was not here it was a girl who said she was her daughter and I told her I get anxiety everytime I have to pay because they always try to take advantage and I have to go back and forth its never a smooth transaction. There isn't one time they didn't change the price and I'v been coming here for over a year. They even tried to tell me $65 was the price of my other daughter, I've only taken my other daughter there one time because she has curly hair and they actually charged me $85 for her hair because it is longer. As soon as she told me the price I told her its $65 she told me to show her the payment from my bank statements from the last time I brought her as "proof". Ive never in my life went to an establishment racist enough to ask me for my bank statements. I had to search and show her the charge and then she said ok. She said I need to understand that my daughter has a lot of hair and I told her I do and that's why they charge me extra which is $65 and she started arguing with me and just gaslighting me the whole time. I told her there's really no way you can disagree with me if every time I come in they change the price there's really nothing to argue about. She said ok did you ask the stylist the price before she sat in the chair? Like I have to ask the same question everytime I come in when I already had an agreement with the owner that she wasn't going to raise it over $65. Also one of the times I came in they tried to charge me $85 and a random customer getting her hair done told them that wasn't the price and they changed it. Do not go here they do not do good business. I don't usually argue but the owners daughter is very young and problematic. Most adults don't argue like that she wanted to start drama, and I can tell she is very young by the way she speaks. She said she is running the salon now so I would definitely run far away from this place as they already do bad business so it's only going to get worse. Also had to show her proof of payment today in my phone which I've never had to do before. read more

I really love this hair salon. The hairdresser are really nice. I've been here twice and both times I love the job they do. They also open earlier then most salon which is helpful if you need to get your hair done really early in the morning. Most days they open at 9am. Go early if you have to get a lot done. Towards the afternoon they get a bit busy. Will definitely be back for more wash and blowouts. Prices are also very reasonable. read more

So I decided to come here today as early as 8:15am and they were open, figured it Said grand opening and I seen it a few times so why not! The owner Gladys has been doing hair for over 20 yrs & she's super nice and welcoming! She washed my hair and made sure she washed it alright! Than she went on to do rolos, the best part was when I saw the second second girl come in a few minutes later. Sujeiri used to work in a salon near by but is with her now and she's great! I used to go to her all the time before. So of course she finished me off. I did a blow out, some hot iron curls and pinned up. All for just $20!! Loved it! Service was good. Had to wait but not too long, you definitely could tell they had a method of doing things which was very convenient both for customers and stylists. Prices are affordable. The only thing is the products left my natural dyed blonde hair a bit try afterwards even though my hair looked great, it's not a place- I believe focuses on hair health per se unless you bring your own products. read more

Visiting NY for the week and I found this Dominican salon on Yelp. My daughter and my sister got a beautiful blowout. My hair is super damaged so it needed some major TLC. They dyed my roots (color on point!) and they put a treatment in my hair. I was only going to cut my ends but every woman they styled before me looked more fabulous than the last so I took my chances and asked for a stylish short chop. Wow! I could not be happier. Nidia does the best wash and massaged all of our heads soOgood. Gladys does the best color and Suheydi did an amazing job with the cut and all of our blowouts and style. I came in here on a Saturday without an appointment. A lovely lady gave my niece a wash, deep condition, and blow dry. It came out beautifully. My niece has natural hair, and when she came in it was dry and visibly damaged/ broken off in a few places, especially around her edges. However, by the end of her visit, her hair was completely transformed. The damage wasn't very visible. The prices were very reasonable. I'd definitely bring her back. read more

I'll advise you to take your own shampoo & conditioner because I do believe they put relaxers in their products like most Dominican salons do. I found this Salon from the Yelp App,(FAv App), looking for a salon who can tame my natural hair leave out. I currently have a Sew-in, my protective style of choice. Walk in the salon, was greeted, by a young woman, she seemed polite, I asked if they accept debit cards, Answer was No. So I had to walk to the gas station ATM. Anyway, Gladys washed and roller set my hair, she did a great job @ blowing and flat ironing my natural hair as well as my extensions. Overall very satisfied, she even asked about my extensions,she was impressed about how natural it looked. Only downfall is not accepting debit/credit cards. Will def return!!! read more

I love visiting new salons and have been doing it for a while now . Back and forth whether it be Manhattan, Brooklyn , Queens I visited a lot ! But lemme tell you I was blown away by these ladies . I came here because of crystal's review . I went there on a Thursday's and I had to wait like maybe 30 minutes but that didn't matter to me because they did an amazing job. First of all they are very welcoming . They take walk-ins! The lady that washed my hair omg ! She did such an awesome job !She washed and massages my hair so well, I gave her a $10 tips I don't recall ever tipping a hair washing lady that much. Secondly, while I was waiting for my turn I can say the women that was there transformed every one hair that sat in her seat . I was blown away how efficient and how beautiful and amazing her blowouts came out at such an affordable and reasonable price ! because When I was there all employees were working and there was no one lingering around talking shit They get their work done and the results that I got after my blow outs was just beautiful !!!!!
