My niece pre-ordered 30 orchid leis to bring on our trip to the big states. They had it ready to go for us, ready to be packed in a box which they provided. We switched the leis into a big insulated bag with a couple of frozen gel packs. It was a Wednesday, and we were planning on distributing the leis on Saturday, and was told the leis will be just fine. We had our ac on in the hotel, so it was cool in our room. Ewa Beach to the airport and they were waiting for me; beautiful white leis with green ribbon. Honestly, it was more challenging to find a parking spot than it was to order my leis! Do not buy from Gladys Lei stand! There are many stands to choose from who'd appreciate your business. The older lady and her two daughters are the rudest most disrespectful people. My family and I have gone to the airport lei stands for many years to buy leis for work, hula performances, and special occasions. We normally buy from the first couple stands, which the workers have always been extremely helpful and very nice. The ladies at the Gladys stand are the opposite and are a disgrace to the aloha spirit. When we arrived the parking lot was full, so I needed to park further down in front of Gladys lei stand. I noticed that my baby had fallen asleep. It was a very hot day and we decided to leave the air condition running while I stayed in the car and my daughter would look around. Before my daughter left, we were looking through our front window to get some ideas. The older lady from the Gladys stand came up and knocked on my window. She told me I needed to turn off my car because my car was making it too hot for her daughters. I didn't understand how that could be, but told her I needed to keep it on for my baby sleeping in the back car seat. My older daughter decided to check outside to see if there was something wrong with my car. She said she felt no heat blowing in their direction, just the heat from above. Again it was a very hot day in Hawaii around noon, and we were surrounded by concrete. My daughter started to feel uncomfortable and didn't want to look around without me. I decided to let the baby rest for a little while we discussed some ideas. The ladies at Gladys kept staring at us and giving us the stink eye. The little daughter kept waving other cars to go away. The older lady then returned to my car and started to yell at me and told me I needed to leave. She said I was being selfish and it was my fault it was hot. She acted like a big ignorant bully. My 5 year old son was/is very traumatized & doesn't want to return there again. The older lady then went to the other cars beside me and said things to them, which resulted in them leaving and not buying leis. I was very angry and upset, but with little kids with me I decided to buy leis somewhere else. As we were leaving, the girl at the stand stuck the middle finger at us. The females at this stand not only lost us and all our friends and family as customers, but they chased away other buyers as well. They not only soiled their reputation, but took away business from the other stands by telling customers to go away if their cars were running. Poor aloha spirit. Bad first impression of Hawaii for others. read more
