He was so personable and joyful, playful, rapid fire and offering help, running around the store being everything to everyone. When I was asked if I wanted to donate at the end of my check out I said absolutely yes and credited him for putting me in such a giving and joyful mood. He printed my photos within moments, helped troubleshoot when they wouldn't initially load with the cords, and he and set me off with a big smile on my face for the rest of the day. Everyone at this pharmacy is unhappy and I can surely see why. They are super busy with customer after customer after customer. I signed up online for 2:15 PM appointment, and when I arrived, there was a long line, and I was expected to stand in it. This is the first problem. Senior citizens and elderly people should not be asked to stand for long periods of time. Many of us can't do it. There were chairs, but if you sat in one, you wouldn't have a place in the line. The second problem is that they ask you to answer several questions online and when you get to the pharmacy, they hand you a sheet and you have to answer the exact same questions again! I asked why and the pharmacy intern said something like the system doesn't always catch it. I thought it was a big baloney excuse, but they are so busy. I can understand why they just say anything to keep things moving. Third, Walgreens does not even attempt to honor the appointment time. Just join the crowds waiting. I finally got my shots 40 minutes after my appointment time. Lastly, pharmacist was rude to me. He asked me my name and I gave him my name and birthdate because that is what medical situations typically want. He yelled at me for giving my birthday and said he doesn't want a lot of extra information. I think this is a clear sign of stress on this man's part because I don't think there's any reason he would've treated me that way otherwise. I said nothing else because I didn't want him to yell at me again. It was really uncomfortable. I don't think a lot of senior citizens look at Yelp so if you are young, if you are reading this and if you have elderly relatives, steer them away from this Walgreens pharmacy.

They knew my insurance card was a prescription card, as well (even though I wasn't sure myself). I get a text when my stuff is ready, and so far, it's been ready on time (fitting with their estimates). The store itself is just ok - very clean, slightly below average selection, with convenience store prices. The real problem is that I've had an extremely slow checkout person every time, and several times they've been so slow and inept that I've left without my purchase. It's really nice that they employ elderly people, but they need to be trained to handle purchases in a somewhat timely manner. When I'm paying convenience store prices, I expect, well, convenience.

On top of it all, they absolutely refuse to do their jobs. Every single month, I call the pharmacy for a refill, they say they don't have it and to call the doctor, I TEXT the doctor (have all of these on file) who says Walgreens has refills, then I call Walgreens and give them the details upon which they magically find it. I have gotten texts from WAG and showed up and been told they don't have any scripts ready, just to stand there and argue for 5 minutes just for them to.... MAGICALLY FIND IT AGAIN... At the end of the day this is one of the most important service industries... if you want to worry about your health, or your scripts not getting filled, or to deal with the rudest people on earth, you'll love this Walgreens pharmacy but if you want to deal with regular pharmacists and have a stress free pharmacy experience I would recommend you go to literally any other pharmacy on earth. Although they were out of stock, they explained that their usual supplier no longer carries the product and offered to order it from a new provider. That level of effort and transparency was exactly what I needed. Because of this, I've transferred all my prescriptions to the E McDowell location. They even call to notify you if a prescription will be delayed--something the previous location never did. Their professionalism and customer care are a breath of fresh air. I had a negative experience on my last visit, and I will likely not be stopping by this location again in the future. I was disappointed with my experience where I paid for a Canadian passport. What the passport staff at this Walgreens prepared for me was not prepared correctly. I mailed in my passport application and materials including the photos, and it was sent back to me saying that Walgreens prepared the photos incorrectly costing me over $40 in priority postage. When I brought this concern up to the manager at the store, they offered to let me take American passport photos for free, which cost less, and I ended up not even using. I was not offered a refund. I later learned that they stopped printing photos for Canadian passports shortly thereafter. Needless to say, I have zero confident in the photo center at this location nor do I think this location takes care of its customers. You earn back 1% in Walgreens Cash rewards storewide, even at the pharmacy, and 5% in rewards on Walgreens branded products. There are also sales prices automatically unlocked and other savings coupons where you can earn reward dollars by making a purchase after selecting a given coupon. Sometimes the coupons are on a receipt from your most recent purchase. You can also find other coupons on the app or the website (or in a booklet or ad when you arrive at the store). While I do not frequent Walgreens as often as other drug stores, I often wonder why when I happen to visit a Walgreens store as it's so easy to shop there and my experiences are often pleasant. They refused saying they could fill and old one but couldn't possibly have it ready before I was to leave. It was my blood pressure medicine. I have used this pharmacy for 18 years and feel I deserve better service. I will not recommend Walgreens on 64th and Greenway.
