However, my boyfriend was present during the appointment and heard the conversation firsthand. The comments about me needing to lose weight were made at least 5 times, which is why they made me uncomfortable. I also found the owner's use of the term "extra flesh" in his public response to be unprofessional and reflective of the concerns raised in my original review. Never once did I mention "extra flesh" so you see they literally body shame even publicly. I stand by my experience. While my piercing healed well with the titanium jewelry I selected, the repeated comments about my body and the pressure I felt to purchase more expensive jewelry are the reasons I chose not to return. -------- I originally booked an appointment here because they operate by appointment only. However, I was surprised to learn that both appointments and deposits are cash only. In a time when most businesses accept cards, Apple Pay, and other digital payment methods, this felt unnecessarily inconvenient. During my visit, I decided to get my belly button pierced. Unfortunately, the experience left a negative impression. Throughout the appointment, the piercer an Asian lady repeatedly commented that I needed to lose weight. These remarks were unsolicited, unprofessional, and made me uncomfortable. For context, I am 5'3" and approximately 123 pounds. Regardless of anyone's size or personal fitness goals, customers should not have to listen to repeated comments about their body during a piercing appointment. I came in for a service, not for criticism about my appearance. After that experience, I decided I would not return. Another issue I had was the constant pressure to purchase more expensive jewelry. I specifically requested titanium jewelry because I had researched it beforehand and wanted an option that is commonly recommended for sensitive skin. Despite this, I felt repeatedly pushed toward more expensive alternatives and was told I would be more likely to experience problems if I chose titanium. In my case, that was not true. My piercing healed without infection, and I was happy with my choice. Six months later, once my piercing had fully healed, I wanted to upgrade my jewelry and visited Platinum Ink Tattoo & Piercing. The difference in customer service was night and day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. They answered my questions without judgment, made me feel comfortable, and provided a much more positive experience overall. I was also surprised to find that both their piercing services and jewelry were approximately half the price of what I had been quoted at Eddie's. On top of that, Platinum Ink accepts multiple forms of payment, including credit cards and Apple Pay, and they welcome walk-ins, making the entire process much more convenient. I cannot speak to the quality of the tattoo work here since I only received a piercing. However, based on my personal experience, I would choose Platinum Ink Tattoo & Piercing without hesitation. Customer service, professionalism, and making clients feel comfortable should be a priority, and unfortunately that was not my experience here.

She even had me come in for a quick, in-person consultation beforehand, which was fantastic because it made collaborating and aligning our visions face-to-face so much easier. On the day of the session, the process was amazing. MJ constantly checked in to ensure I was comfortable. She has a remarkably light hand, there were moments where it felt like nothing at all. I walked in and picked a set of earrings and off to see Eric, who literally made it painless. He gave me post-care instructions, and asked that I come back in 8 weeks for a follow-up visit and to shorten the posts. We just shortened the posts and it's been great. I've followed their care instructions and have been very happy. If you need a place where they keep standards high to protect you as a client and make things easy, this is your place. It is worth the money.

Because they take walk-ins, it can get very busy. When I went, it was incredibly loud and packed, and the counterstaff did not attend to this issue (they could have asked those not in for a service to wait outside, made the line to the counter clear, etc). The counterstaff seemed friendly (but didn't appear confident when I asked her what size jewelry posts I got after my appointment). There is a good selection of fine jewelry, both titanium and gold which was great. For my downsize, the piercer didn't close the door behind us, so there was a lack of privacy. I also wasn't presented with the new backings of my jewelry or shown that they had been properly sterilized by their autoclave/statim, and it felt very rushed. I got multiple piercings downsized and for some reason, the piercer utilized a backing from my flat to downsize a lobe piercing. I'm not sure why they did that, as 1) the gauges of the jewelry were different and 2) this left a lot of room extra room between my jewelry and my lobe. Please keep in mind that all of my piercings are well healed over 5+ years and I wanted the most snug fit possible, and was not given that. I should have said something in the moment about this, but as a more reserved person, I'm not one to complain when someone already seems like they're rushing me. After the downsize, I went back to my main piercing studio (over an hour away) to get my lobe properly downsized. I really feel like I wasted my time here, both in waiting over 45 minutes for a downsize and in not getting a properly fitting end. I was honestly shocked at my experience due to the reviews this place has. But maybe I am pickier than most when it comes to these things. Bottom line though is at least they safely pierce and have good jewelry. If you don't nitpick like me, you'll be fine going here.

Afterwards she measured and marked the center of each lobe and showed us the result. Once everything was set, she pierced each ear and took her time which we appreciated. Our baby girl didn't cry which was very surprising to us! Cleo then demonstrated how to clean each ear lobe and sent us on our way. We recommend using her for your baby. Rocky was super thorough in both the piercing and cleaning his tools. It's been a week and there is no irritation or bumps at all (coupled with frequent saline rinses per day).
