I decided to book here for an upcoming wedding. My experience was okay. My makeup artist was extremely friendly and in the end I think she did a good job. At the beginning she asked if I wanted lashes, and I agreed. Towards the end of my appointment, she handed me the mirror to check on my makeup. I pointed out a few things, which she fixed and at that point, I was happy. When I went to pay, my artist mentioned to the person at the desk the lashes. And when they stated the price, it was $20 higher than I was originally anticipating per the pricing online. They asked if I wanted a receipt, I said yes to check it but they only handed me the credit card slip. I asked for the itemized receipt and the lashes were an extra $20. At no point did the makeup artist mention the up charge and I was a little taken aback. A friend of mine came in after and I mentioned the lashes to her and she opted out of them. I was frustrated as I literally had lashes in my purse while sitting in the makeup chair. I wish I had the option to pay the extra fee instead of not being warned. I mentioned I didn't get my makeup done often so this wasn't something I was expecting and it wasn't listed on their website that lashes were extra when booking. I was really disappointed as I felt like it was done secretive instead of being open with clients. read more

Worst blowout. I went in for a simple blowout for a wedding that I was going to and walked out with my hair, looking worse than when I came in. I asked for a bouncy blowout and my hair was frizzy and fried and straight when I walked out... I could've done a better job at home and now I have to go home and redo my hair for this wedding. I can't speak for the Makeup Artist or doing actual styles... But wouldn't go for a blowout. read more

What a great new place on 23! I initially visited when a friend raved about her experience here. I needed to get my eyebrows done and took an appointment to check it out. Their website is super helpful when it comes to seeing what kinds of services they offer and how much everything costs. I was also able to book my appointment online which was very convenient! Upon walking in I immediately noticed the trendy decor highlighting the fact that they're a high end salon. This being said, all of the girls are super nice and you don't get the snootiness that comes from employees of other high end salons in the area. My eyebrow appointment was with Sarah and she was phenomenal. Though the price is a little higher than what you would pay at a nail salon, it is worth every single penny! Sarah is so skilled that I didn't even feel her ripping the wax! I usually come out of eyebrow appointments with tears in my eyes and red skin, but not at Glaminator! I even opted to prepay for eyebrow services so I can get a discount (and was even able to split up the payments!). I definitely will be returning for all of my waxing needs in the future and to try out some of their other services (the eyelash lift and tint looks awesome!). Recently went here for an eyelash lift and tint and overall had a great experience. The esthetician Michele was super nice and explained everything that she was doing. The rooms are clean and not dirty at all. I was very happy with the results of my service. My only complaint is that they got my reservation time wrong originally so I had to come back on a different day. read more

I had my makeup done early on a Sunday morning by Carol. She was ready for me on time and listened to my requests. She took her time doing my makeup and I did not make me feel at all rushed. She did a great job matching my skin tone as well. The salon itself is clean & very cute as well. I liked my look and will definitely be going back for future events. read more

I decided to treat myself for my birthday and upcoming class reunion just to get the "flash lash" which is supposed to last seven days. Lashes came off within 36 hours. I was able to get a " redo" the morning of my reunion thankfully, but again, the lashes came off less than two days later. I splurged the $70 on these lashes believing they would last, but whether it was the quality of product or skill of how they were applied, I would've been better off with $5 strips. Nice staff and place but waste of money. read more

Very pleased with my results! I had my hair blown out by Sarah, and my makeup done by Carol for a wedding I attended last October 2018. I forget how much I paid, but it took about 3 hours from start to finish. I had a lot of fun being pampered, and everyone who was working there was very sweet. I felt comfortable being here and getting pampered. I attached a picture of my results. My pampering at Glaminator ended around 12pm... and this picture was taken at about 11pm at the very end of the night. read more

This place is so cute inside! And everyone is so friendly. I've gotta say though, my Fav is Erica! I am a long time client of hers and go to her for all my waxing needs. She is professional, precise and always in a good mood. She has always had a way of making me feel comfortable from day one. And I'm so excited that she now does henna for my brows too. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my brows. Erica isAMAZING! My only complaint is that I never received my first service for free as mentioned on their website. When I said something scheduling my next appointment, nothing was ever done about to resolve the issue. read more

Carol is a true artist t her craft. I met Carol in 2014 as I was in search for an airbrush makeup look. She did my makeup and it was perfect. She also is a killer eyebrow professional which was an added bonus. I've been getting my brows shaped for some time now and they look fabulous each time. She's also my go to for any occasion where I need to get glam'd. It was no question that I wanted Carol to be part of my special day. She did my makeup as well as my mom and sister. I have struggled in the past with burning from eyebrow wax. I decided to give Glaminator a try, as it has been getting increasingly more difficult to find threading places. Michelle was absolutely extraordinary! She listened to my needs and concerns, and used her exceptional knowledge to ensure I had the best experience. Not to mention she was very personable and treated me as a friend rather than a client. The salon was very clean and very fun. I will definitely be coming back for more services! I have been a regular client at Glaminator for various services including waxing, lash lifts and tint, makeup and hair styling. Sarah is my go to person for fabulous eyebrows and Carol does an amazing job with makeup. This past weekend Carol and Sarah traveled to New Hope, PA to do wedding makeup and hair for my daughter-in-law, bridesmaids, flower girl and mothers. Where do I begin! I have known Carol, the owner for about 12 years. She never disappoints me, I walk in looking like a hot mess, and leave feeling like a million bucks!!! Her team is amazing, especially since I bring my 2 year old son with me. He loves seeing the girls, aka Andrea. I just got my eyelashes lift and tint. I accompanied my sister in law to her first lash lift appointment at Glaminator. The specialists name is Michelle - and let me start by saying she was so welcoming and assuring (being that she was nervous) that she felt so comfortable just by the first impression! Once we got settled in the room, Michelle talked her through the process and what was going to happen maintenance etc. She was very thorough explaining the process. I have no words - don't even know where to begin. Carol and her staff were absolutely amazing to work with. Michelle (who did my make up) absolutely killed it and I never felt more beautiful. She also did my sisters wedding and as a bridesmaid, that was a 10/10 experience. Carmin did my hair and WOW - she completely blew me away. I don't know how to thank them enough. Carol was an absolutely dream to work with and made sure everything ran smoothly. (She even answered my email the day she had her baby!) I LOVE Carol & the staff at Glaminator Beauty Bar! I've been coming here since it's opened and have yet to be disappointed! Carol makes you feel comfortable while getting all your waxing needs taken care of. She's the brow master of NJ. I've been to so many people, but she gets them done PERFECT. Such a cute, girly, glam little beauty bar & I recommend it to anyone looking for any type of makeup or hair service. I came from out of town for a wedding and was a little nervous since the stylist & artists aren't tagged in the IG photos, but Carol the owner reassured me i was in good hands. She was responsive & very accommodating. My makeup was beautiful & my hair stayed put. This is such an amazing place. I have had four amazing experiences. I had a beautiful blowout done the first time. The second time I had my makeup done by Carol, she was amazing and so sweet. The third time I had my makeup done by Michelle, she was incredible, professional, and obviously very knowledgeable in her field. The fourth time I had an event outside of the studios hours and I was able to book Michelle for on location makeup, she is honest and knew exactly how to make me look perfect!! I used the Glaminator for my wedding makeup this June and I could not have picked a more perfect company to go with!! I actually had spoken to Carol about using the Glaminator for my wedding in May 2020 and then covid happened and we postponed to June 2021. Everything from start to finish with communication, expectations, cleanliness, and professionalism was absolutely perfect (as well as my wedding makeup of course). Hadar was my makeup artist - I met her first at my trial and she was amazing! She listened to everything I wanted while also explaining what colors would look best on me and the makeup was unbelievably perfect. I actually could not believe it - from 6am - 2am my makeup did not move lol most of my bridesmaids also used the Glaminator/Hadar as their makeup artist and I had several people ask who did our makeup so they could contact them for their own wedding. So happy with my results! I originally went in for an eyebrow wax and tint with Michelle. I was interested in trying eyelash lifting for the first time and she was SO helpful explaining the whole process. Michelle was so sweet and thorough I immediately felt comfortable and loved the end results!! She evened out my eyebrows and the eyelash lifting was better than I imagined. Glaminator Beauty Bar was started within a previous salon in 2014. After organically growing it was time to open a bigger location with more Glaminators!

Meet the Business Owner: Carol H.

As seen on Style Network as a noted airbrush makeup artist, Carol has made women look and feel beautiful all over the Tri-State area since 2004. She has worked her makeup magic on NJ & NYC runway shows, photo shoots, commercials, weddings, special occasions & much more. Like most artists her passion for art is nothing new, it's something she's loved since she was a little girl. Both a makeup artist & esthetician, her understanding of what makes a face gorgeous lies deep within the dermis. Carol wanted to expand on her beauty services for her clients and it wasn't long before she discovered waxing & eyelash extensions came natural to her. She crafted a unique experience for her clients that had them strutting out with smiles after each service. The ability to put her clients at ease and make them routinely smile is her true gift. Every client becomes a glam friend and is treated with heart felt care. No matter what the occasion or service, she makes the day fun, relaxed, and GLAMOROUS!

The girl who did the service was nice, but the overall experience fell short. It felt like I was there forever -- I arrived at 11:30 and didn't leave until 1:30. I've usually gone to Brittany or Luciana, but since they're no longer there (which is sad because they were great), I gave this new girl a chance. Unfortunately, my lashes barely held their lift after few minute of driving away (5 mins) and didn't even look tinted. They just looked like my regular lashes. The brows came out decent, but she did some waxing and cutting, which I hadn't asked for, now one tail is shorter than the other and thinner.. there goes months of growing. To make things worse, I ended up with a burn! I wasn't going to pay $175 for this, so I went back and asked for a refund for the lashes at least. It's a real shame because the place was great with Brittany and Luciana. I wouldn't be surprised if they left because they weren't treated well and made their own business. It really made me question whether they are properly disinfecting their tools between clients. Overall, this experience was stressful.
