My family used this Dermatology office once. I made an apt to go again on a Tuesday for a Friday apt. I did not get a conformation call. What I did get was a bill in the mail for 35.00 for a no-show apt. I was asked if I mind paying before making an apt....Illegal.This is horrible practice. Dr. Patty is the best 10/10. I called Friday night at 6pm for my 9 yr daughter who is covered in little bubble like blisters and they fit me in the next morning Saturday at 10am. From the front desk to the nurse that spoke so softly and took the time to explain things to her and calm her so she stopped crying, to Dr. Patty who is the sweetest, nicest, most gentle and caring.. right away new what was wrong again and took the time to explain everything, not only to me, but to my 9 yr old as well. I'm so thankful my sister told me about Dr. Patty. I like when a Dr knows right away with no hesitatio. She is THE BEST!!! Highly recommended!!!!! I unfortunately had to change providers due to insurance and wound up at glaser dermatology. I was scheduled with and seen by the PA. The office was running behind by over 35 minutes (which is understandable)!and yet the provider spent less than 5 minutes with me. She was dismissive and when I asked if my annual would be done I was informed it was not scheduled as an annual and could not be done despite having a sibling and paternal grandparent with melanoma. Also when inquiring about my own condition I was told and spoken to as if I did not understand or know my own body. I felt uncomfortable, rushed, and would not recommend anyone to be seen and assessed in this environment. The world of healthcare is changing but it is not too much to feel seen, heard, and treated respectfully. read more

After reading the reviews it's scary to see I am not the only person this has happened to .. looks like this office is trying to scam people.. called to schedule an appt for a skin check ( I had not been there since 2018) the woman said she had to "check something in my chart" and would call me back. I thought this was strange but said okay. She called me back saying I had a $10 balance from 2017 and could not schedule me until I paid (illegal). I said okay no problem gave her my card info. She then told me It was going to take a few days to schedule my appt ??? Even though my payment went through immediately. I was annoyed but agreed. Three days go by no one calls me back . I take the initiative to call and another woman answers and says she has to check my chart and needs to call me back ???? This is not normal . She calls me back to make the appt , I give her all my insurance info and she tells me she has to verify my insurance and will call me back again !!!!! I work at a drs office It takes all of 1 minute to verify insurance but okay. She calls me back 1 HOUR LATER!! Leaves me a voicemail saying she needs to collect my co pay before she can schedule me ?? ( my copays are 0$ and she should know this considering It took her an hour to verify my insurance) finally the next day I have to call back again to schedule !! I make the appt FINALLY!! They call me again the day before my appt just to tell me they "don't take my insurance" .... After ALL THAT. I wish I got the names of the people I spoke with because this absolutely unacceptable ! I called to make an appointment and was told that I couldn't until I paid a balance from 2022 for like $38.28. I researched my credit card statements and found that I paid Glaser Dermatology $38.28 in November of 2022. The representative I spoke with said that it still shows a balance. I told her that it obviously hasn't been updated by billing. She said I'd have to pay it again to schedule an appointment and I'd receive a credit if necessary. I told her I'm not paying again and sent them a copy of my credit card statement showing the payment. This was three weeks ago and I never heard back. read more

AVOID!!! Went here because I had insurance no copay, no nothing. I knew I'd have to pay something but..They tried to bang me out $165 right off the bat and wanted me to come back, come back and come back! Told me the fee schedule before even seeing the doctor, which I was Absolutely fine with. Assistant told me $40 for the first skin tag removal and $15 there after. Once the Doctor saw me he wanted $125 for one & $40 for the other. Decided to make up his own pricing after looking at me. If I'm paying for it, I can go anywhere. Shame on you!!!! read more

Reception area is open and there is absolutely no privacy. Everyone in the waiting area can hear the conversation between the receptionist and the person on the phone. Plus the patient being checked out. The office needs to be more HIPPA compliant. When it comes to service Pat is great, she is the only reason my family and I come back. read more

So disappointed I had been a patient for well over a decade having had many skin cancer surgeries and I am told that Dr Patty Chun no longer takes my insurance. How can you do that to a patient who has been coming here for years. I mean you could stop accepting new patients with a certain insurance. I have also use the insurance from the World Trade Center from my exposure working on September 11 and the days there after but that was always a problem getting approval. read more

Dr Chun is great but the practice always overbooks the appointments and you end up waiting for an hour beyond your appointment time before you see the Dr. I was in last week for an appointment that I booked after they reached out to me asking everyone to make an appointment. I called and ended up waiting 6 weeks for the appointment. I was planning on waiting for my yearly check up until after covid had passed, but since I liked Dr. Chun I thought that I would support her practice by coming in, thinking that they might be slow. Just the opposite. I got to the office and it was standing room only with patients waiting in the hallway. I waited for 45 minutes and listened to the receptionists laughing about triple booking the appointments until I just couldn't take it anymore. I thought that you were supposed to limit the number of customers during Covid times. Got a copy of my files and left. Today was my second visit, extremely terrible visit. Patty does not care about the patients at all. I had to get something faxed from my gynecologist to her while I was sitting in the room and I told her they just faxed it she said well it's not here do you want to stand and wait by the fax? In a tone as saying that I'm dumb and didn't just get off the phone with the gynecologist like that's your job not mine... are you kidding me... I'm your customer and you're going to talk to me like that. She then told me we could finish the appointment over the phone ??? Uhmmm why are you rushing me out, when I'm already here and I just got off the phone with the gynecologist and they were sending the fax. First off I was very upset as it is because of my acne and she did not make this any better. She makes you feel very belittled. I was crying because of her, it's very frustrating when the doctor could noticeably not care about the patient what so ever. I will not be going back. My boyfriend has been going here for years and I got treated so poorly, maybe it's because I didn't have "mommy" with me. That honestly gives patty no right to treat me how she did though. Billing needs to get on the same page as the front desk. I have been to this office more than I'd like to have been over the past few months. After meeting my deductible quite some time ago, it should not be protocol to collect payment from me every time I go and then to be belittled for not wanting to pay a copayment that isn't warranted after already doing so and not receiving a credit to my account. The way I was spoken to by the girl from the front desk was unacceptable and extremely disrespectful. A proper response would be "we will bill you if we see there should be a charge" not go at it with me since I wasn't following office "protocol". The prior time the girl told me I must have spoken to someone else because she is new. No, it was her and it was only the week before. Since I was so nastily dismissed me from the office, I will no longer be going back. I have never been treated like this by any other doctors office before. Shame on you. read more

I do not review often, but Dr. Glaser has made me so upset that I have taken the time to write this review. I have been going to Dr. Glaser on an as needed basis for the past few years. Recently I made an appointment due to a spreading rash on my shoulders and a severe breakout on my chest. Normally I have very clear skin so I was very concerned. I made the appointment for the following week, however I was called 2 days before my appointment and needed to re-schedule because Dr. Glaser took a vacation. Not a problem, I re-scheduled for 2 weeks away. The day of my appointment I explained to the very nice nurse what had been going on. When I had met with Dr. Glaser I felt rushed and unheard. He told me my breakout was "just a breakout" and told me not to worry about it. When I showed him the rash on my shoulder he told me I had "dry skin" and told me to moisturize the area. He has also given me cortisone cream to stop the itching. I told him in the room that I do not have dry skin and I moisturize everyday. I tried to explain to him that my rash was not dry skin and my breakout was not normal for my skin type. He did not want to hear it. When I asked him what to do when he was wrong (yes I said that to him) he just told me to come back. I paid my $40 co-pay and went home. Needless to say, he was wrong. The cream he prescribed automatically spread the rash up my shoulder and down my arm and my "breakout" was a fungal skin infection (diagnosed by urgent care) that needed to be treated with anti fungal cream. I called Dr. Glaser's office 2 weeks later looking to be re-diagnosed. I explained the situation to the receptionist who was very nice and helpful on the phone. I even explained that I knew what I had was not dry skin in the first place. I asked to come back for a free (no co-pay) re-diagnosis because I cannot afford to pay $80 to be diagnosed wrong twice. I was informed by Dr Glaser that although he was wrong in his diagnosis I would still be required to pay my $40 co-pay. This doctor is older and apparently set in his ways. He did not want to hear any explanation from me which would make him wrong. The fact that I would have to pay $40 again for a service that was wrong in the first place baffles me. I felt less like a person and more like a way to obtain money. I will never be returning. read more

I went to have a surgical removal of a cyst on my scalp. Though there was a 35 minute wait, Dr. Glaser and his staff were fantastic!! Dr. Glaser was very competent and friendly. I'm so disappointed! I saw great reviews online so I thought I would have a good experience. My appointment was at 630 on a weekday and it was horribly apparent that the doctor just wanted to get home and had no interest in seeing me. I was given the bums rush. I spent more time with the nurse than I did with the doctor. The nurse asked me where I was having eczema symptoms. I was trying to explain that at the moment only on my legs but I also flare in other places. She interrupted me and said yeah but where do you have it NOW. She was very rude. Then the PA patty Chung came in She literally looked ar me for less than a minute. All she said was you need to stop scratching- wasn't interested in my history or in how horrible my flare ups are or in how I think this started! She asked if I'm moisturizing. Oh really, I've had eczema all my life and I don't know to use moisturizer?? She didn't let me explain anything! She just prescribed a stronger cream and sent me on my way She didn't check to see if I had any potentially cancerous moles. She didn't look at me at all. Back in the day, you found a doctor by asking a friend or neighbor for a reference. Then there was an office visit to see if there was chemistry. Today with the internet, you find the doctor's life history. Well, I found Dr. Glaser through a friend 20 years ago. Since then, he has treated me for numerous skin cancers, some needing Mohs, repaired sun damages, and diagnosed many skin infections caused my desire for out door recreations. That averages to 5 to10 visits per year. Yes I am a frequent flyer. I am a long established patient who is always treated with excellent care. I have had numerous opportunities to observe how the staff treats others in the office, all with the same care and professionalism. This place has a lazy administrative staff that gives you an attitude when you need to call and see why they didn't fax your prescription in...or ask why you have been prescribed something other than what you were told. They act so put out when you are just trying to educate yourself with the changes that were not communicated to you the paying patient! Also I had my first occasion where the dr actually spent more than 5 seconds with me before she was out the door. This came at a cost- over an hour wait to be seen, not sure why bc the waiting room was dead...after 5 years I no longer want to give them the benefit of the doubt....I am done with dealing with an overly difficult, less than satisfactory, service that I am paying for!! read more

just want to thank this entire caring office regarding my mother. They could not solve a complicated issue with her knee and I know they were crushed that they simply could not help. I was on the phone with Dr Glaser and i pledged my case strongly for him to do something outside of what he felt comfortable doing on a Saturday no less. I was frustrated and possibly aggressive verbally, and instead of feeding into that and becoming defensive, he LISTENED and he was genuinely empathetic and understanding. This type of professionalism is extremely rare. He went out of his way to find a referral and follow up. I know it bothered him deeply that he could not be the one to solve this issue. That says everything. I have been to countless doctors over the 25 years I've been a caretaker of my mother with her myriad of health issues and not once did I feel the level of genuine concern I felt here. read more

I have been going to this office on an as needed basis for several years. My last visit is my last. I and my husband had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment with Patty Chun. When we arrived the receptionist told us that we didn't have an appointment. She than said "your appointment is tomorrow", than said "oh no, that's was 2017". We asked if we could wait or come back this day at a later time. we were told "no she is busy and other people have appointments". I repeated that I also have an appointment to which the receptionist insisted that I and my husband did not. I informed them that I'm not in the habit of just showing up at a doctors office without an appointment and I wanted to speak to Patty. The receptionist again said she was busy and I insisted on speaking with her. The receptionist than left the area and said she would ask her. When she returned she now said that Patty was going into surgery and wouldn't talk to me and that I had to make an appointment for another date. My time is just as valuable as their time but I was not given any consideration. I told them to shove the appointment. I will be going to another dermatologist from now on. read more

I went to Dr. Glaser for what I was told was a corn on my hand by my Primary care physician. My appointment time was for 12:15 and got there early enough to fill out paperwork. I did not get brought in the room by the nurse assistant until 1:20. The nurse assistant asked me why I was there. She then processed to tell me about how I should get a full body scan because I am fair skinned. After she left the room I then proceeded to wait an additional 15 minutes for the doctor. She came in an additional two times to lecture me about using sunscreen and how many times i should re-apply it. I was not there to be lectured I was there to have something looked at on my hand. The Dr was taking his sweet time seeing designers in the office upstairs and his office downstairs cause he is redesigning both offices, he finally came in to see me at 1:40. After being seen by the doctor and getting the mark removed from my hand to be sent to the lab, the nurse assistant put a little bandage over the wound and then a band-aid over it. She did not have any surgical tape to prevent the band-aids from coming off of my hand because of the location. Not only is Dr. Glaser cold but his staff was just okay. Other patients were waiting in the office for an hour prior to me being seen. The nurse assistant told me that it was a longer wait time because of the Dr performing biopsies. I thought I was going to be able to see the doctor in a timely fashion not be sitting around for an hour and a half waiting for the doctor. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!!!!!! NEVER RECOMMENDING THIS OFFICE OR THE DOCTOR TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY MEMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
