One of my favorite tattoo shops I've been to, I got a snake tattoo a little over a year ago from Ian. Pics attached are all fresh, but it truly looks just as good 1y healed. He gave me exactly what I asked for and knocked out the entire thing in one sitting. By FAR my most complimented tattoo! Other than the amazing tattoo, the shops atmosphere is great! Though I haven't gotten tattooed by any of the other artists there, they were all some of the coolest people to meet and all deliver beautiful tattoos. She was a kind breath of fresh air in our communications, and she heard what I was looking for, even though I did not do a great job of explaining my idea. She was prompt, kind, & professional, and I felt very comfortable in the shop, which is particularly notable during covid. I was told to check this place out and stumbled upon Christian's art. He scheduled an appointment with me and boom, two months later I have a tattoo I am obsessed with. I sent him a few ideas and Christian turned it into a piece I am in love with! He sent me his drawing a few days later and made a few changes I asked for by the time of my appointment. This place is the coolest tattoo shop I've seen. Buddhas, ocean paintings, great music, a nice and relaxing vibe while you get tattooed. I typically get super nervous for my tattoos. Sitting still isn't my greatest asset but Christian made my experience a breeze. He kept me laughing and chatting throughout my time, and kept all my worries at ease. Great spot to get a tattoo (or two!) in Sebastopol. Low key and zero pressure shop with super friendly artists. My wife and I wee fortunate enough to make an appointment with Alex for some pieces we had been wanting to get done for a while. We both had fairly specific visions of what we wanted and it can be hard to find the right person to help you achieve that vision. Alex was patient, listened to what we wanted and was able to make two perfect pieces that we are thrilled with. They're new artist, Alexandra, is a gem!!! I love love love her! Saw her on a last minute deal /spot she had going on and she did (what is now) one of my favorite pieces! This is a tough one for me to write. In my experiences coming to Christian I was over all satisfied with his work. Although I was young and not good at speaking up for what I wanted. I was on the spot when it came to a certain piece he did for me and felt like I needed to make a BIG change to his initial drawing on the fly. It left me with a piece I essentially have regretted for years now. Which is why I recently went in to talk to him about re working that piece he had done for me about 7/8 years ago. I showed him some images of things I thought would work and we talked for a few minutes about the future piece. We put a tentative date on the calendar to do the tattoo work, this time I requested to see the images prior to the appointment. It was off. Aimed and missed HARD again. I know that art is a very personal thing, you're not going to like everyone's style from a customer's point of view. I also feel as a tattoo artist it's your responsibility to only take on work that you feel inspired by. read more

I've had the distinct pleasure of working with Christian Nolan on a few occasions, on different pieces, and have always been beyond pleased with his work. Like any experienced and talented artist, Christian always takes the time to really understand his client's desires and particular skin type. A heavy handed artist on a client with a thin dermal layer can and will ruin not only the experience, but also the piece. All too often, an artist will just dive into a job without taking the time to fully investigate the type of medium they are working with. Not so with Christian, and for that I am greatly appreciative. Christian has completed original, corrective, and touch-up work for me over the years and I've always left his studio feeling as though I could not have asked for better or more. I got a tattoo done by Christian and he, along with his business partner, was very accommodating in scheduling my last-minute appointment along with the tattoo itself. He is a professional, very congenial and knows what he's doing. The shop is well kept and his tattoo station is sanitary... nice touch with the black latex gloves. My tattoo came out beautifully. The coloring, to specification, was exact , and the line work complimented the design. I've had the tattoo for about four months now and it's nice to see how it's changed. In the first few weeks the colors were revealed... to be brilliant. Now as it's winter, the coloring of my skin has changed and the tattoo has revealed another beautiful dimension of itself. Buddha's Palm is, hands down, one of the classiest places there is. The fact that it's called a gallery is a perfect distinction, both because they host rotating art exhibits and because every piece that comes out of there is fine art. Christian, Clint, and Ian are all incredibly talented and professional, and every experience I've had there has been nothing short of top notch. I've had several sessions with Christian, and he does not disappoint. I've never been inspired to come back after a piece and bring my artist a bottle of Belvedere until I got work by Christian. Seriously. His designs are spot-on and his attention to detail is exceptional. This is the only shop I recommend to all my friends, near and far. It's ink, not an outfit, and if you're going to have something forever, you better make sure it's the very best. My only regret is not being able to give them more than 5 stars. read more
