Extremely Disappointing Service and Zero Accountability…read more I had a very frustrating experience with this auto windshield company. I was charged for what I was told was a higher-quality, more expensive windshield, but they installed what appeared to be a generic one instead. Within just a few days, the glass cracked. When I reached out, I was repeatedly told someone would call me back, but no one ever followed through. After several attempts, the last person I spoke with told me I would have to pay full price for a replacement--despite the fact that the windshield had just been installed and failed almost immediately. I was also told that "all windshields are identical" and that no brand or manufacturer is better than another, even going so far as to claim that Gorilla Glass is just generic glass with a label on it. This made me feel like they weren't being transparent about the product I actually paid for. Overall, they refused to stand behind their work, didn't honor what they originally told me, and were extremely hard to reach once problems came up. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company at all.

I had most of the windows replaced in my house in Mount Vernon because the old windows were single…read morepane, some were cracked, and the wood frames were deteriorated to some extent on almost all of them. Overall I am happy with the result, but there was some lack of attention to detail that I noticed. 1) On the first day of the 2-day installation, they finished working before I got home from work. My front door had been left wide open with nobody there after they left. I have no idea how long it was open before I got home, and nothing was taken from the house, but it was still annoying. 2) Caulking was forgotten on one of the windows when the trim was fully reassembled. In other places, the caulking was very messy or on spots of the trim where there was no reason for it to be. 3) Due to the age of this house (1940) and the construction of the old windows, some wood had to be added to fill a gap between the new window frame and the existing wooden sill on the exterior. Rather than cutting 3/4" pieces of new wood to fill the gap with, they used old wood that had been taken from elsewhere in the old window assemblies. This is unpainted, untreated wood that is exposed to the elements and at risk of rotting now until I can paint it.

It's a fairly big home, so not a small project either! Alpine worked to complete the siding near the end of the "gentle season" in the fall and worked in wind and around rainy days to keep the home protected from weather, while efficiently installing our chosen James Hardie product and windows at the same time as they moved from side to side amidst storms. The result was beautiful, with new trim boards added for effect, and everything tidily caulked before winter set in. It looked so wonderful, we even enjoyed the prime siding color before spring came and the paint could put the final touch on the project.
