My old '99 van's window had gotten smashed on Tuesday morning, so I started calling around for a replacement estimate, and 1st Choice gave me the best price, even though it was a special-order window due to my van being so old.. Amazingly, my window was replaced just a couple days later, on Friday; and it wasn't an easy install.. during the process, it was discovered that the pre-existing dent on the door had bent the support rods on the interior of the door a little... but he was able to deal with it so well that the window now works perfectly- and here's the thing: even though that surprise damage lengthened the repair time, the price didn't change, and as someone who had to scrape the barrel for money to pay for the repair to begin with, I'm beyond grateful for that kindness! So few repair shops nowadays are willing to go the extra mile to complete the unexpectedly complex job without increasing the cost, simply to do it right.. it's noteworthy that 1st Choice Auto Glass is one of them and if you're in need of window or windshield replacement, I highly recommend this business!! read more

Don't use this company, installed my windshield improperly and sent us home without calibrating are vehicles collision warning system. It's been over months with no communication. We showed up and a safelite truck with license plate number D96241B did installation for 1st choice and did it wrong but I don't get the quality warranty that comes with safelite. read more

The other auto glass shop I spoke with couldn't get us in for weeks, 1st choice got us in within two business days and were a much better price. Super friendly, efficient, and solid work. Like another customer, I had an issue with my Andersen windows that 1st Choice was contracted to repair. They missed the first appointment they scheduled due to a truck breakdown and I don't fault them for that. On the second appointment, the techs waved aside my concern that their ladders might scratch my cedar shingle siding. I installed the siding myself and knew it to be somewhat fragile. After they left, I noticed large scratches in the siding in three different places. It's irritating that I specifically mentioned that they needed to be careful and they ignored my advice. They also didn't clean up well, leaving handprints and streaks on the windowpanes. If they are contracted to do a repair for you, watch closely and make sure they don't leave a mess for you to clean up afterward. read more

I am very pleased with my service and the cost for it. Great value, and Matthew was very cordial. I came in because of my windshield. The ice and snow we had, plus my impatience (scraping while cranking the defrost up) -- led to a 6 inch long crack! The service took as long as expected; perhaps just shy of an hour. This is the absolute worst customer service I HAVE EVER received. My car was broken into and the window smashed behind the driver's side. I use my car in my business everyday. I needed a fix fast. It was essential to have my window put in that day. Matt-the owner was no where to be found.The only other person there was as a sweet young man who was very busy taking notes. After making a phone call to Matt, the window in question was to be finished with a few hours, but NOPE! I came back to pick up my car BUT NOPE, It was a special order as they don't have green tinted windows, although clearly they had them advertised on their wall. The estimate was 225-300 MAX! At this time, a small gentleman walked into the office and was very nice and apologetic - I assumed this was "Matt". I asked why they didn't call me and the front desk man said "Max" had tried many times to keep me in the loop. There was absolutely no phone calls as I had a log and was waiting all day for the phone call. And what I didn't realize was the gentleman I had been speaking with was NOT Matt as Matt was scuttling around the office pretending to be a worker. When I did speak to Matt (as an employee)he was belligerent and aggressive. I was appalled. I even complained to the SMALLER GUY that I thought was his worker (Matt) was really rude. IT WAS LIKE SOME MID-EVIL FARCE! Ultimately the bill the next day was 389.00. THE REAL OWNER MAX (still pretending)said, "Dealers just gouge us when we order through them. No phone call to tell me about the increase, at which time I would have declined. I went to the dealer, (Subaru)and the parts department that said, "oh that window was about $230.00" I insisted on speaking to the owner( you remember the smaller guy who was nice) and he laughed and "I am the owner!!! 1ST CHOICE, LIARS AND CHEATS TO THE END!!!! If I could give a "no" star rating I would. If you are a single woman RUN AWAY as fast as you can. Max is belligerent, likes to fight, and wear you down, a misogynist to the nth degree. I actually had to say to him, "I am not going to fight with you". I am also going to report them to the Better Business Bureau - It was a traumatic experience that I would not wish it on anyone. read more

DETAIL and WINDOW TINTING After reading last review and talking by phone to four places I decided to call and Matt answered the phone by ring 3. Most competitive and persuasive yet he spoke highly of his local competition, including Tint Lady, who I also thought of highly due to Tyler's professionalism and salesmanship. I was torn because I had made appt for just detail with Sam's Shine Shop in Mt Vernon, who is also great and has super reviews. In the end, I went with shop which allowed me to come in at 10 versus earlier, could do all that I wanted and was competitive, not cheapest or highest. Hope the don't disappoint!
