I came here with my friend for a late lunch about a month ago and it was great! We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get seated right away. The dining room is beautiful, with lots of natural light that's let in through the big windows at the front. The service was excellent and the menu had so many delicious options. We ordered a few of the mezzes, including the labne and the hummus, and they were so good. For entrees, we ordered the crispy yams, the little gems salad and the shakshouka and everything was so filling and delicious. Used to be a glass factory, the vibes are intimate and cozy, surrounded by brick walls, plants, and the hipster vibe that Brooklyn is known for. Amazing for a date or small group! One of the many Mediterranean spots in Greenpoint and Williamsburg, their food is a hit or miss. The Labne and Griddle bread is a MUST 10/10. Skip the kingfish crudo and coconut panna cotta. The combination of flavors is surprising and courageous but doesn't always work out. I'm a big fan of cilantro - addicted even, and I could not get pass it the combination with coconut. I found this place in the Michelin guide and immediately went there. I really wanted to try their smoked eggplant appetizer and after reading the menu I decided to take a Mezza Feast. The mezze feast had a lot of options and every one of them looked beautiful. I immediately reached for the eggplant and, oh no, that was my first disappointment. It was like I ate a spoon of liquid smoke. Lots of smokiness and not a drop of eggplant flavor. I began to taste other appetizers and almost all of them had one thing in common - an oversaturated taste of seasonings and the lack of the ingredient's taste. Such aggressive taste enhancers simply did not allow you to enjoy combinations of appetizers, they just overwhelmed you taste buds. We didn't finish our mezze feast, even though we were quite hungry. On the bright side, the hummus was good. Also, this place has an interestresting interior and pleasant staff. But I wouldn't come back here, after all, the food is the deciding factor. read more

This was just...ok. Of the three plates we ordered, I enjoyed none. We ordered the smoked eggplant, the branzino, and the baklava. Overall, everything was bland. I have had modern Mediterranean cuisine before, with strong, complex flavors that surprises and delights. No such strong, complex flavors here. The eggplant was all smoke and not much else (although I did enjoy the accompanying pita). The branzino lacked spices or any kind of flavor, other than its natural fish taste. And most disappointing of all, the baklava. Baklavas, in my experience, are fully soaked, resting in a bed of honey. Press down on a Baklava, and it oozes with sweetness. It is cloying, but in the best way. This Baklava, with its layers of filo dough and various nuts, was bone dry. It was not soaked. It desperately needed to be soaked. Eating it was akin to chewing cardboard. Utterly joyless. My fiance liked everything though! read more

On a Sunday fall afternoon, what could possibly sound more appealing than a "mezze feast" paired with cocktails or a cold brew in a beautifully converted factory at the far end of Greenpoint? Indeed, there were some items that lived up to the narrative, including the environs, which were indeed charming, and the unexpectedly delicious "griddle bread," read: scallion pancake without the scallions. The falafel was also excellent. As for the cold mezzes themselves, I couldn't help but feel a bit underwhelmed - the labne was adorned with some tasty spices, but otherwise joined the hummus and eggplant mash in being rather unmemorable. Intimate setting with an impressive menu! This restaurant is very unique and has some menu options that will leave your taste buds wondering how can something soo simple taste soo good. When I was told this had a Middle Eastern influence I was expecting your generic food items, but I was completely blown away by the uniqueness of this menu and flavors. I would have liked to see more options as the menu is very small. They even ran out of the lamb mixed grill entree on a Saturday night. The prices are a bit up there, and the plates are not that filling (I like to eat a lot especially if it tastes great). Definitely a great date spot with an amazing atmosphere. i may have had to trek 20 minutes in the searing sun walking across the bridge from queens to greenpoint to find this restaurant but my oh my was it worth it. truly some of the best pita I've had (high praise). The falafel was fried to a perfect crisp without being dry and were also the size of tennis balls I swear. If I had to choose a personal favorite restaurant in Broolyn, it'd hands down be Glasserie; During my summer living in NY, it was the only spot I visited twice. Once a glass factory, Glasserie embodies a hipster-trendy vibe with exposed brick and candlelight (And true to the millennial taste, we love a converted industrial space). Its cozy and perfect for couples or small groups. Tucked away at the upper edge of Greenpoint towards Long Island City, it requires a Subway change from the L to G, making it a hidden gem of sorts. Reservations here are helpful but I wouldn't say essential. If this restaurant were in the heart of Williamsburg, I guarantee it'd have blown up by now and would've lost its underground appeal. Greenpoint overall is the epitome of up and coming; Grab a drink next door at the neighborhood favorite Greenpoint Beer & Ale Co pre dinner and bar hop along nearby Franklin Street afterwards. I'd come here for the ambiance alone, but the real draw here is the FOOD. Mediterranean is up there as one of my top favorite cuisines, and Glasserie's modern take on it does not disappoint. I highly recommend doing family style here, as the dishes are designed to be sharable. Came with a group of girlfriends on the evening of 3/30 - what a delight! Server (Sadie) was so kind and friendly and recommended just the perfect number of dishes. We thought we were ordering too much because we wanted everything on menu, but no ma'am, she said we were doing great. Very considerate of all our dietary restrictions and so willing to be flexible. Went here with a large group for lunch. The gave us a very generous mezzo, where all sorts of small plates just kept coming. Everything was fantastic. The pita is fresh, hot and amazing. Lovely Mediterranean place at the edge of Greenpoint! Came in on a Sunday night with a reservation, but would say walk ins would have worked as well. Ordered the eggplant and pita - pita was well spiced with zaatar and delicious. Crispy yams were my favorite for the night, paired well with a lime aioli. Glasserie was awesome for dinner! This is a great spot for cocktails, as well as the food. I will admit it is a bit far from the subway, though in nicer weather I'm sure it will be great to walk to in the summer. Since we didn't have a reservation we first sat at the bar and ordered different cocktails on the menu. All were quite good and we learned they changed their cocktail menu seasonally. I highly recommend the old fashioned if that's your drink of choice. In terms of food, the small plates are excellent for sharing and you cannot miss out on the cauliflower - with hazelnuts and cous cous it's perfect and unique. The fish and chicken were great for larger plates and all the sauces or sides were well paired. I would return to Glasserie, next time with a reservation read more

The food was delicious which is why it's such a shame to give 1 star but the server was so rude and insulting it's hard to want to suggest anyone else dine here. Unless I ask, I don't need a server to tell me if I have ordered too much food. 2 of us ordered 2 main proteins, cauliflower and yams. Our server looked at us incredulously and said "that's a lot of food" to which I replied, then we can take the leftovers home. All the while we felt complete judgment. I will admit that might be my own insecurity but that feels a bit irrelevant. You can imagine how much worse we felt when there really wasn't much left over! Cute casual spot, admittedly in the middle of nowhere. Apparently you should come with at least a party of four because the mezze feast looked amazing but alas the two of us did not have enough stomachs. We tried: - pita 10/10: excellent and really fluffy and chewy and remarkable. I dont think i can ever eat another pita without thinking of this one. Highly recommend - smoked eggplant 9/10: quite good and creamy but the smokiness is not very strong - falafels 9/10: comes out super hot and fresh and delicious - shakshuka 8/10: also comes out piping hot and stays hot thanks to the ceramic, only wish there was more of it. Not sure i'd be back again for brunch since the menu is quite limited, but maybe would be back with more people to get the feast. read more

Have come here in the past and it been a much better experience than tonight. We will not be coming back for several reasons. Sad to see a Greenpoint staple go so down hill. Firstly, before walking in on a rainy night at 6 PM, we saw there were dozens of reservations available on resy, so we didn't think walking in would be an issue. We walked in and the place was full of empty tables, only around 4 tables were occupied. The hostess was extremely rude and immediately said she didn't think they had a table for us. I told her I understood, but I saw dozens of free reservations on resy...She eventually sat us, but had a bad attitude and honesty seemed pretty unhappy in her role from walking in the door. Just unwelcoming. Secondly, the place was SO hot. I'm talking like rainforest jungle level stuffy and humid. On a super hot august day when you're paying top dollar for food, it should be comfortable. It was uncomfortable the entire time and stayed super hot the entire time... Next, I ordered a Margarita and our waiter interjected to suggest/ push his favorite cocktail on us despite us not asking...We went for his suggestion but when it arrived it was basically straight Mezcal. I didn't want to make a fuss about it but he eventually asked how we liked the drinks. My sister smiled and said to be honest she really didn't like it, but no worries. He offered her a margarita instead which was nice, but it then took 20 minutes to arrive and came towards the end of the meal. The food is decent, the appetizers of dips and skewers were the best thing, but the chicken and tuna entrees were super mediocre, lacking anything special. Tuna wasn't high quality tuna and lacked flavor, overcooked and hard pucks of ahi. And for $30 each, it was a major let down. The bill game and it was so high, we just kind of laughed. The kind of meal that just sucked and you couldn't believe you're paying $250 for. The waiter also charged an extra $5 for the replacement drink he offered my sister, just poor hospitality. I wish I could be more positive. I lived in greenpoint for years and this place used to be a special occasion place. You're better off ordering a falafel from a street cart, legit. They need an overhaul of management, staff and to fix their AC immediately. read more

Restaurant was barely busy and I asked if it was okay and they said yes, but very passive aggressively. The servers were very friendly and attentive, and the food came out really quickly. We found most dishes too oily and salty for our taste however. We had to scrape the Za'atar seasoning off of the flatbread that came with the eggplant as it was inedible for us otherwise. The griddle / potato bread that came with the labneh seemed very over fried and oil seeped out when you squashed it. I've had a lot of labneh in my lifetime and the small ball that we were served was very stodgy and not very pleasant to eat. Not at all like a good quality labneh. The little gem salad was also very over seasoned and the falafel was over fried / burnt. The mushroom dish wasn't too bad but had a sort of Asian type flavor which we were not expecting. Had an amazing brunch here over the weekend. I rarely venture out to Brooklyn and I'm glad I did to experience Glasserie. I got there before my reservation and although I couldn't be seated until my entire party arrived - the staff was nice and brought me excellent cold brew and water to drink while waiting. We ordered a bunch of things to share for the table and everything was delicious. The Mezze Feast for $23 is a must get (especially for the bread)! A lot of food and a great way to try a little bit of everything. There was nothing in the spread that wasn't loved by everyone. The seat griddle bread was also delicious. Not sure of what sauce they use or how exactly it's made, but it's 100% worth ordering and eating. The ambiance in the restaurant is upscale without being too pretentious and rustic chic while still being comfortable and cozy. My only regret is not having enough room to try the dessert! read more
