Glasses LTD has a fine selection of frames, chosen with good taste. But it is the lenses, the invisible lenses! These are truly amazing. I can see! I can read! Today, Thursday, was a truly remarkable experience. These were my third pair of new glasses In the last ten years. They were due to be picked up on Friday. However, earlier this week, I had called and asked for a Thursday morning delivery. Some sort of communication problem, and on Thursday morning, the glasses were not ready. I was disappointed, but I never could have predicted the response from Glasses LTD. At 1:00 PM the store promised the glasses by the end of day. I said, No problem. Tomorrow is okay. They said, Today. This evening, the technician who actually makes the glasses delivered them to my home. I put them on. He looked, took them back, and made a minor adjustment, and handed them back to me. I am now wearing incredible new glasses, no problem. I would return to Glasses LTD for the quality alone. Went to the store to have a nose pad on my glasses replaced. I thought that I would have to leave them at the store, have them fixed, and return to pick them up later. I have gone to Glasses Ltd for readers and repairs to my sunglasses and they are always incredibly friendly and professional. Even when they're busy with other people, they'll acknowledge your presence and try and get to you quickly. I've never had to come back once the repair work is done because it's always done well and very timely. There have even been a couple of repairs that were done where I was pleasantly surprised Tai, the manager, didn't charge me. I am a born and raised hillbilly that recently moved into the Old Town area and work on Michigan avenue. The underwire on my glasses broke. A pair of glasses I got 4 years ago from a Wal-mart in NC. I was bummed because I figured I was buying new glasses. I call these folks and spoke with Jackie. I have to admit I was apprehensive about a place on Michigan avenue fixing my glasses. Tal helped me and he is a sweetheart. I had major issues with my Prada sunglasses which seemed to be irreparable and irreplaceable. Now to be totally candid, they are by no means perfect since the repair, a little wonky, BUT MUCH better than they were, and because of this, he didn't charge me! I was more than happy to pay something but he clearly understood that even though he fixed them, they were never going to be back to normal. I stopped by to get my Burberry prescription glasses fixed. One little piece at the hinge had fell off and it needed it to stabilize the entire frame on my face when I was wearing them. The manager I think he was, took a look at them and was not sure if he could fix them right away, so he was very resourceful and used rubber bands to place in that spot where the hinge needed it and they are now fixed. Otherwise I would have to pay around $150 to replace the little piece, between ordering it and shipping plus the time. On top of that it was all free. Walked into their 900 Shops location to adjust a pair of Mykita glasses purchased from them for the first time ever. Jackie proceeded to break the temple, didn't apologize and didn't follow up when she said she would on replacements. Long story short after dealing with Tal Landau and Zach Winitz the owner, Glasses Ltd. never managed getting appropriate replacements, in fact, they called me in to pick up a pair of replacement temples this past Saturday which they didn't even match to the correct one from my glasses in their possession before calling. I called Mykita myself today and learned its not even possible to match the temples from 2010 from Germany. Zach Winitz blamed Mykita for the wrong temples Saturday instead of his obvious incompetent staff. Tal Landau went line by line through everything my wife and I ever purchased through Glasses Ltd., several thousands of dollars and told me that they made no money on us. I bought a pair of Lunor eyeglasses from Yuri@Blink Optical in Lake Forest and was treated with respect and this is now my go to eyeglass boutique. read more

I went here for a repair and ended up with new $800 glasses. From day one they weren't right. Jeff promised he would fit them upon delivery but his idea of "fit" is "can you lean over and shake your head without them falling off?" He adjusted them by cutting off the arm ends with a wire cutter and then they were so short they cut into skin behind my ears. Then he ordered new arms and told me he couldn't return them because the frame was being discontinued. When I went in to have them put on he wanted to charge me another $175 and when I said no, he said he would just return them. He promises things he can't deliver and doesn't know the first thing about comfortable fit. I've been rearing glasses for years and have never more than one adjustment because the optician actually knew what he/she was doing. I went back probably four times. The fit was so painful I ended up going to Lenscrafters to have them adjusted so I could actually wear them without getting a major headache. They are cute frames but really, their selection is nothing special. Very hard sell and all kinds of promises and "deals" that are designed to get you to buy glasses but none of the "great customer service" they promise. Oh, sorry. I forgot the free box of lens cleaners valued at $15 that I was given for absolutely nothing! I don't mind paying for cute comfortable glasses but there are plenty of great optical shops on the Mag Mile whom I'm sure can do better. They sure can't do any worse! read more

while i have yet to buy a pair of glasses from glasses ltd, this is the first place i would go if i needed frames or sunglasses. i have come here several times now to have my beloved Coach aviators fixed when screws have come out. they always handle the repairs quickly and call me right away when they are done (and once they did it for me on the spot). even better, they aren't concerned with charging their customers for little things like screws and the cost of repair. that's the sign of a business that truly cares about their customers - ALWAYS a good thing. also, one time the guy who works here complimented me on my adorable sparkly flats. so all in all, i say yes to glasses ltd! read more
