Village Eyecare is the real deal. I've been seeing Dr Mathson for about two years now. Not only is she charming as all get out, she's been able to address dry eye issues that have been plaguing me for years. My previous optometrist just had me sticking with a warm compress and prayers that I woke up without walnuts for eyelids. Dr Mathson presented new treatments and home care that have given my eyes hydration, deep cleaned my lids and stopped my irritation. Life changing! This morning I woke up with my first flare up in a year and a half. The wonderful staff got me in on the same day. Oh Wow! Luckily I don't require glasses, but I'm nearsighted and I could tell that we my vision from a distance is not as good as it used to be. I made an appointment with Village and from the pre-visit text updates to the extremely high tech exam, this was the most comprehensive and non-evasive eye exam I've ever had. What I mean by non-evasive is even the eye pressure test which touches your eye at other offices was non-contact at Village. The check-in was easy and smooth and Dr. Matteson broke down all of my results and options with great simplicity and care. I let my wife know she needs to make an appointment ASAP and this is the way to go if you need an eye exam! read more

As much as I do not like annual check ups, Village Eyecare - South Loop makes it fast, easy and painless! Dr. Krista Mathson and her incredible team welcome you promptly and move you through the stations efficiently and with a gentle touch. You don't feel like a robot like some places tend to make you feel. Dr. Mathson really is a gem because she thoroughly explains everything going on with your eyes, comparing them to previous years and letting you know if you need new products or not without hard selling. She even gave me tips for when I am eligible for Medicare, which are really helpful because Medicare eyecare is not as good as private insurance so at least I know what to prepare for. The optician was so kind to adjust my sunglasses for free. Office is conveniently located and plenty of metered parking. You're in and out in an hour and don't even notice it!
