We had shrimp ceviche and chicken empanadas as well as fruits, veggies, dips and crackers for appetizers. These were a huge hit with all our guests. We were fortunate to have our wedding planned through Ranch Events at the Mission Bay Sunset Room. Julie Castro was our coordinator and she was amazing! I have been planning 1-2 large scale 300 - 400 person luncheons/dinners/galas for schools and service organizations for over 15 years in San Diego, and I have never worked with such an incredible event team before. They treated us like family and thought of this event of 350 people ranging from 18 yo to 70 yos as if it was their own personal event and the most important one of the year. My then fiance and I toured Marina Village Marina a while ago, thinking about having our wedding there. The actual "Marina Village" company was, to be blunt, unhelpful and uninterested in helping us. As we walked the property, a gentleman named Bernardo noticed we were carrying flyers and asked if we were thinking of having a wedding there. When we said yes, he said that he worked with Ranch Events who owns a couple of buildings on the property and he'd be happy to help us. He gave us a quick tour and gave us some information, but more importantly, he immediately treated us like he cared. We chose to have our wedding at the Seaside Room in Marina Village and Bernardo helped us step by step in planning our wedding. Turns out, he and Ranch Events could take care of almost every aspect of the wedding, cutting the number of vendors down significantly and saving us Thousands. Not only was he extremely proficient, he gave us referrals for almost any outside vendor we needed and more importantly, his referrals were FANTASTIC. We are so happy we used Ranch Events to cater and coordinate our 160+ guest wedding at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. Megan is incredible! 1) Catering - Of all the vendors we initially searched online, Ranch Events had the most appealing menu, along with reasonable pricing. The staff was very easy to work with over email and after reviewing their menu choices, we scheduled our tasting in Marina Village. The tasting with Megan sealed the deal - the team prepared an array of appetizers, main entrees and desserts; everything was so yummy and Megan was super helpful in narrowing down popular options and making suggestions for guests with dietary restrictions. During the actual event, the food and staff were phenomenal. We had passed trays during cocktail hour and a buffet-style dinner (our favorites: crab cakes and mini beef wellingtons for appetizers and pot roast for dinner!). I was the Chairperson for a farewell Dinner for our Pastor. I met Bernardo of Ranch Events in his office about 6 months ago. My name is Bernard, so the two of us hit it off immediately. Our event was in the lovely Seaside room and adjacent patio and it was beautiful with sunset view! Megan was our event coordinator and Bernardo our capitan and everything went smoothly. The food and service were great. It was a little difficult/complicated providing our own alcohol and took a lot of planning/work on our part. The bridal room was lacking amenities The cost was reasonable and it was great having the kitchen on site. read more
