Tiki hut bar coverlet and grass table wrap, and my dad, The Birthday Boy :D
    Sabrina K.

Cobain was a great help with our Luau Themed Party! We just threw my Pops a 60th Birthday Luau and got the majority of our decorations from Tikiland. The Prices were great, and the huts and other hoopla we got were fairly easy to assemble. We needed more than 1 person to put it all together, but it was not that difficult. We rented some tikiheads, a tiki hut bar cover, signs, bamboo, a photo-op cutout board, a cool entry way thingy. We purchased a Pallapa umbrella cover. Tikiland has a lot of stuff you can rent, that might not all be available on site, but there is a lookbook you can view. They also have some country themed stuff to rent and some other themes in the book. However, if you are having a Luau party, this is where you need to be to spruce your venue up!

I don't usually give 5 stars but for Tikiland I will. Cobain visited my house today. Very honest and did exactly what he said he would. He was on time and delivered exactly what he promised. He removed my old thatch from my umbrella and put on a new one. Looks great. Very satisfied.

Cobain is absolutely amazing! For the type of work he does it was just incredible how quickly and expertly he was able to transform our area where we having our event into such a cool setup! My wife and I were totally blown away with his attention to detail and flexibility! The day of the event Cobain was on it! He Got things done in less then an hour and even helped out on things he didn't have to. All in all a top notch guy who provides top notch service. Cobain helped make our wedding ceremony vision into reality!

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room All the birds sing the words and the flowers croon In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room Tiki! Kon-Tiki. Rikki Tikki Tavi. Tikki Tikki Tembo-no Sa Rembo-chari Bari Ruchi-pip Peri Pembo. That's what comes into mind whenever I hear the word Tiki. Also carvings of Polynesian deities like Kane, Kanaloa, Lono, Ku. And that's what led me to this store in an out-of-the-way and hard to find mall in an industrial area just north of Sports Arena Boulevard and next to the I-8. Cobain is the guy (not sure but sounded like he had a touch of a "down under" accent) who runs the show and his quick wit and humor made the tiny place much more entertaining. Quite the salesman he is as well. There were a number of ladies that ran off to find an ATM in order to buy a cheesey talking bird (playing back whatever was recorded in the room quarter of a minute before with lots of compresssion - making it sound like a parrot on helium) since the credit card machine was broken. He also had 2 wooden tikis for sale as well as a pirate. The main business he runs out of that place is theme party rentals and one of the popular themes is Tiki! All sorts of props - spears, tikis, bamboo fences, surfboard shaped signs... Also various weird little things for sale. I got some tiny tikis for a few bucks. With a name like Tikiland you might get the impression that there'd be tikis everywhere for sale but they're actually mostly for rent as party props. Hours are weird noon to five most days except tuesday and wednesday. Polynesian banker's hours? Mall is tiny but parking wasn't too bad. Brazil by the Bay is right around the corner if you leave the parking lot by the southwest exit going out on Kurtz Street.

Cobain is awesome and I 100% recommend him to transform a party into something amazing. Cobain decorated for my husband's 40th birthday luau and it looked like a real resort luau. He is a genuinely nice guy and worked really hard to make sure my party was special. Thanks so much Cobain!

Here's the revised version:…read more The owner contacted me and offered a free event, which I declined, requesting a refund instead. She then offered a 20% refund and asked me to change my review, which I again declined. She claimed that despite paying for full event planning services, the event was subpar because I hadn't been involved in planning it. They didn't call. They didn't ask me to go their warehouse. They didn't do anything until the week of the event, when they tried to fit me into their random available times to walk them through my space via FaceTime. To clarify, I paid $2,000 for someone to plan and orchestrate an event. What I received was maybe a $200-$300 setup, and it's apparently my fault for not planning the event I paid someone to plan. She argued that I should have requested changes during the setup. However, I wasn't home at the time. The whole point of hiring this service was to arrive at a fully set-up event with my guests. When I arrived, they were still setting up as my guests were arriving (even though they were supposed to have been gone by then). So, there wasn't time to make changes, and it would have been an awkward conversation anyway. Instead of blaming me, they should have done the job they were paid to do or not sold the package in the first place. To add insult to injury, she compared this situation to eating a pizza and then requesting a refund. This was over $2k. It's not even close to ordering a pizza and asking for a refund. She ripped me off. I stand by my request for a full refund. She should have offered that refund on her own. This event was pitiful. I will never use their services again or recommend them to anyone.

She helped make sense of our tea ceremony that my mom's coordinator never bothered to explain to us. If it wasn't for Thi's ability to keep us calm and informed, I think I would've had a total meltdown out of frustration with the fustercluck that our tea ceremony would've been. We forgot to pick an additional bridal party processional song for our American wedding ceremony, so she picked one out on the fly for us and made sure our DJ had it. When my groom's family got lost and was 30min late, she made sure our bridal party never let us know and that the DJ kept the music going for the guests. I had no idea anything wasn't perfect for the wedding ceremony--fantastic! Finally, she was able to manage the mass of people waiting to take pictures with us at the reception, and work out all our weird seating issues without a hitch (especially considering she only got our list at 4 am in the day of). And, when we forgot pick any music out for the entirety of our reception, she picked everything out and gave it to our DJ. Every song she picked was perfect. Quite honestly, everything Thi touched worked exceedingly well. She's organized, adaptable, kind (but assertive when necessary), and really quite talented at making sure your entire wedding day moves along smoothly.

I have been looking for my engagement ring for a couple of years now. I know traditionally the guy…read moreis supposed to buy the ring and surprise the girl...blah blah blah...I just wanted to make sure my boyfriend (now fiance) got me a ring I'd be completely happy with, since it'll be the only piece of jewelry I'll wear FOREVER. The first ring we looked at was cute and affordable, he bought it and held on to it for the right time to propose. After some rethinking, I realized I didn't want a ring with white gold and we returned it. The second ring was just something I passed by and thought was nice. I didn't realize my boyfriend had bought it secretly in hopes of proposing. In the mean time, I found Thi and her customized/personalized engagement ring business. She helped me design the PERFECT ring for my style and our price budget. I asked her to contact my boyfriend to handle the financial details. He was gracious enough to follow through and my platinum engagement ring got made! He proposed to me with the other ring while the ring of my dreams was being made. Writing this made me realize I sound like a brat! But keep in mind that the ring was affordable and my FIANCE and I are 110% happy. My fiance and I are so thankful for Thi and her diligence. Without her I would have been stuck with a clunky ring that looked like a class ring with a diamond on top. Words could not express our appreciation. She was very timely and professional. Answered all of our questions and concerns. Anyone thinking about getting married or proposing should first talk to Thi, even if it's only to ask questions about rings. Customized rings that are actually affordable! What more can a girl ask for? Just in case any of the girls out there was curious. I ended up with a cushion cut diamond surrounded by brilliant round diamonds and a thin platinum band with brilliant round diamonds as well. I am not sure on the price, but I know it was under $10k, and appraised for over $15k. You can also contact her at simplicithi@gmail.com
