When you walk in you pick up a piece of paper on where you fill out what donuts you want. You can choose your own glaze (9 different types), topping (13 different types) and drizzle (9 different types). The prices are affordable. Single donut is $3.11, Twin Pack is $5.70 and Half Dozen is $15.20. The shop is spacious and also offers coffee, tea and hot chocolate as well as a donut of the day. There is a window through which you can see how the donuts are made. Besides the glaze, toppings and drizzle, a naked donut is not sweet at all. Each donut tastes super fresh. Having one made exactly how you like is such a great touch. This is forever going to be my favorite donut shop to visit in Beacon. read more

This place surprised me! Based on the outside alone, I thought this was a chain, commercial type of donut spot. I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. The vibe inside was sweet, friendly and locally owned. The donuts are all cake and all made to order. I'm usually not a fan of cake, but these were delicious. You order by filling out a sheet with the type of glaze and toppings you want (like how you order a custom sandwich in a deli) and you can watch through the kitchen window while they fry up the donuts in small batches by hand. I got a clear glazed and a chocolate sprinkle, both were delicious! The cake was dense but fluffy and moist, the icing was tasty, the chocolate tasted like actual chocolate (unlike some donut spots that have totally flavorless glazes) and the cake had a very light crisp to the edges. Even though I'm not one to really have a hankering for the sweetness of the traditional American donut, I have to say, Glazed Over is no joke. First of all, the older gentleman who greeted us as we walked in had the most friendly, warm, and comforting energy. He explained the ordering system to us and let us know the specials. I felt immediately comfortable around him and that made the experience half of the magic that it was. Secondly, the donuts are made FRESH on the fly and are customizable to the t. You choose your donut glaze, then your topping, and then your drizzle. I was worried the donuts would be a little too sickenly sweet or overly heavy but that was not the case AT ALL. They were cute little cake donuts where all the elements meshed together perfectly without being overwhelming. We got the seasonal donut, which was apple cider inspired, and the traditional glaze with nothing else. Both of them were spectacular. The flavors were boisterous without being overpowering and the fact that they were warm and fresh was just chef's kiss. They are also super affordable and on the menu the prices are TAX INCLUDED!! Who is evening doing that anymore I hope this place is open forever. This place was amazing and even if I wasn't craving a donut I know if I were to stop by to grab a couple to share I'd find myself enjoying every bite every single time.
