Very disappointed. Last night ordered large MooShu Chicken. What came was 97% cabbage with some chicken. No one would eat it.....that much cabbage would bother anyone's stomach. Today I took it back with the rice and pancakes, completely full. I brought along 5 recipes for MooShu that all included other ingredients, including mushrooms, shredded carrots, some also had slivers of other vegetables. I said my dish was all cabbage.....was told "It's not my problem." I left it all and walked out for good, you can't reason with that level of customer service. If they had described the dish as nothing but cabbage with some chicken I wouldn't have ordered it. Will never return and that's also "not my problem". (I have ordered MooShu Pork and MooShu Chicken for 40 years. This was the only time it was just cabbage). read more

Polite service and definitely asked if needed sauce or anything, it's getting rare to find places like do care rather than just hand your bag. Disappointed that ran out of hot oil for the day though. Steamed shrimp dumplings were very good, plenty of diced shrimp, very minimal amount of veggies and skins were perfectly cooked and not gummy in texture. The dipping sauce though was really good, rather than a just a tangy vinegar soy sauce dip, they added their own flair with a lot ginger for a more tangy taste,at least they live up to there name, ginger here. Thai special fried rice was mixed, decent amount of shrimp and chicken, the usual green peas and carrots, pineapple was interesting choice as well as green beans. I've gotta say... it's put a horrible taste in my mouth to spend over $300 per month on this restaurant's food, for 2 years now-and to never be offered a single coupon. Not ONE! My wife & I are disabled so we usually order delivery unless our son takes us to dine. The food is good. But honestly it's so disheartening to be offered so many discounts/coupons from EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT! And when we go to order from Asian Ginger--ZERO. I was in the neighborhood on business. Afterward I went to find a place to eat. I thought I'd try the Chinese restaurant down the block. It was a good choice. It's bigger than most of the other Chinese eat-in/ take-out places. They have several tables when you first enter. If you want to eat in. The place is clean, the staff is very pleasant and professional. The menu is fairly large and diversified. I knew what to expect when i ordered, Egg fu yung. I didn't expect such a large portion with the sauce on the side. The hot and sour soup was also good. Not too thick or overly spicy. Well balanced, I didn't see any shiitake in it just button mushrooms. It had all the other usual ingredients. For what I paid, I couldn't do it at home for the same cost. read more

I've been ordering from this place for years and let me tell you, they're excellent on all fronts. The lady and gent who run the place are always very pleasant and sweet. The selection isn't very different than many other Chinese takeout joints, but the care taken to ensure a delectable meal is what separates Asian Ginger from the remainder of the herd. The delivery times vary (something that doesn't bother me, as I'm very patient), so if it is taking longer than you may like, just know that it'll be worth it when the food arrives. Furthermore, I've learned that the gentleman who delivers is also one of the very few in the kitchen as well; very hard-working. As an alternative, stopping in the restaurant and ordering (or calling ahead) will yield a meal in a blink of an eye. I recommend the pineapple chicken, Thai red curry chicken, hibachi noodles, and the homemade iced tea. Note: the only reason this place gets 5-stars is because Yelp doesn't allow for 6-star reviews - again, the couple that runs the show here are that wonderful. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER. I'm a vegetarian and specifically called and asked for veggie wontons in veggie soup. I got home and bit into a wonton and it was pork. I called the restaurant the woman that runs it was absolutely horrible and offensive. Yelling at me saying it was my mistake. Refused to exchange my order or return my money. Went here for dinner based on the reviews, albeit not a lot but all good. Atmosphere is a zero but you know there those places that you go for the great food not atmosphere, so we stay. We order red curry chicken and spicy beef with rice. The red curry right away looked wrong, no creaminess more like that sweet red salad dressing you see at buffets. As I smelled it though, it reminded me of sweet red pasta sauce. When I tasted it, yep sweet watered down pasta sauce with a faint red curry somewhere in there. The beef was better but pretty flavorless, although the beef was tender. I didn't want to keep eating and that's unbelievably rare. I've been ordering take-out from Asian Ginger for awhile now and have always been impressed by the quality of their food. Asian Ginger really separates themselves from other local Chinese take-out places by taking the time to cook things right and with love. Their food is simple and not over-processed, creating each dish seemingly from scratch. My favorite dishes (at the moment) are their Sesame Chicken and Beef Lo Mein. The chicken is fried to perfection and is never soggy (like some other places). Their Lo Mein noodles are fresh, over-cooked and have a seriously delicious sauce. Their Steamed Dumplings and Egg Rolls are amazing too! Honestly, everything that I have ordered from them, thus far, have been super delicious! I also wanted to give a shout out to their delivery crew. They are always very friendly, courteous and polite. Asian Ginger has been our go-to spot for Chinese food for years. I don't know why I've waited so long to review them. Some of our family favorites include House Special Chow (and Chow Mei) Fun, Crispy Fried Wontons and General Tsao's Chicken. The items that you'd walk a mile for? Their Homemade Steamed Dumplings and their Crispy Fried Chicken Wings. In my opinion their fried chicken is better than any you can buy at a regular chicken place. Super tasty and crispy without being greasy. Sometimes I just get those with fried rice. And speaking of fried rice, theirs isn't impregnated with that fake yellow color you find elsewhere. I was trying to decide between giving them 4 or 5 stars because there have been times where there was a long wait or we got something that wasn't up to their usual standards. I went with 5 for several reasons. A) Those times have been few and far between. B) Their food is so good that we've gotten spoiled, so that when something is "just plain good" - we're disappointed, when in reality, on their super-rare worst day, they're still the best. C) Their customer service, especially the woman working the counter and the phones is outstanding. She is one of the nicest and kindest person we've ever dealt with in any restaurant, and....she gets even the most complicated special order right. If you're living in the Beacon area and are going somewhere else for Chinese food, you owe it to yourself to give Asian Ginger a try. read more

Very friendly and accommodating! My car broke down today and I got towed to the nearby Hyundai dealership and walked to this cute little joint to grab some lunch. I ordered steamed broccoli with white rice and asked if all of their sauces were made with animal stocks. The lovely smiling woman at the counter said that yes, unfortunately all the sauces use chicken broth. With that said I opted to leave the order plain and planned to just put soy sauce on after. To my delight, she talked it over with the chef and offered me a special white/clear sauce made with no animal stock! It was just water and seasonings and scallions and it was actually yummy. I thought that was so sweet of them. I definitely recommend this vegan friendly place and applaud their excellent customer service! read more

DO ***NOT*** GET FOOD FROM ASAIN GINGER. They are Penny Wise Pound Foolish.... Came home from a long day at work last night and went to Asian Ginger to feed my family because I was too tired to cook. I ordered shrimp with eggplant and garlic sauce for myself and instead of giving a side order of rice they filled half the container with rice as a filler. Got home and stuck my fork into a piece of eggplant which was hard. That is not the the normal way cooked Chinese eggplant feels. Then I tasted it and it was completely unripe and bitter. I ate the shrimp out of the meal and then shared my son's meal because mine was not edible. Just went there to return/exchange it because I could not go back late last night and the woman who works there said if I want a soft eggplant I have to ask for it to be cooked soft. I told her I have been eating dishes like that at many Chinese restaurants for years and the eggplant is always tender and never bitter unless it is unripe. She then said she wouldn't take it back because I ate the shrimp out of it-all 4 of them -which was the only part of my dinner that was actually edible. After that she ACCUSED ME OF MAKING IT UP and told me that no one has ever complained about that dish in all the years they've been in business. I let her know that it was foolish to stand on ceremony over a $10 meal instead of taking care of the customers in her neighborhood and told her I would have to warn my community by giving Asian Ginger a bad review. She said that was ok and stood firm. News flash lady..my goal last night after a long day at work was to enjoy a good meal, not to make something up about a restaurant so I could waste my time going back there for a different meal. When I asked who the owner was she said she didn't know so I called her out on not knowing who she worked for, at which time she said her husband is the owner. And she called herself "Vicki" - she's the one who takes the orders, but who really knows what her name is because she was making things fast and furiously to avoid accountability. It is always unfathomable to me when a business chooses to be right no matter what over taken care of it's customers but in this day and age with social media, I cannot for the life of me imagine why she would prefer a bad review over doing the right thing. Her doing so would have gained Asian Ginger brownie points and a favorable review. And now people know the truth about their desire to be right over serving the paying customer. Let me start by saying that Chinese food in the hudson valley cannot compare to that you can find in Queens or in Manhattan. All the chinese take-out/restaurants places here serve the same thing but for some reason the food at Asian ginger just tastes better. I had the sweet&sour chicken, which thankfully was the right mix of sweet&sour with no weird aftertaste like other chinese restaurants' food has. Unfortunately, my husband still thinks Peking has the best pork fried rice, so we have yet to go back to Asian Ginger. read more

Mmmmm. Am eating leftovers as I write this. Thanks to Yelp, I found this excellent Chinese restaurant. Wish I had known about it years ago. My elderly Mom who lives in Beacon is thrilled about it because of the quality of the food and the fact that they'll deliver to her. Everything that we ordered was excellent: Sesame chicken special, veggie chow mein, crab rangoons and another chicken dish. The vegetables were fresh and cut beautifully, served with crispy wide noodles that weren't greasy at all. The chicken was tender and all dishes were very tasty. I couldn't stop eating the Crab Rangoons! The owners are very gracious. We'll be regulars there. read more
