I called and explained what I needed done, they gave me a quote for $75 cash. They got to my house and immediately raised the price to over $200! They said I would need multiple treatments and that we would possibly need to replace the padding! I called Comptons in Waxahachie and they did an amazing job for $100. Wish I had read the reviews on Yelp rather than Google before we called them to come out and do my parents house in Midlothian. When I called (on a Monday) to schedule the appointment I talked to Edward, the Owner. With my mother there listening, I told him exactly what they needed to have cleaned. 2700 square feet of living area. 3 bedrooms, hallway, large living room an office and a quilting studio as well as about 200 square foot of carpet in a studio apartment in the back. Majority of the carpet is Berber and about 400 square feet is a deeper pile. He asked is they needed a basic steam clean or a deeper scrub. We told him a deeper scrub all over. He explained that they don't move heavy furniture, no problem. The quote was for $279.00 so we scheduled them for the following day between 2 and 4. On Tuesday I called to confirm they were still coming and reconfirmed all of their information for Edward. Here is where the red flags started!!!! First off when the technician, Tim, called to confirm the address they had written down wrong. When the Tim finally arrived he looked around and started writing some notes and getting set up. He told her that everything should be dry in about 10 hours and she told him that's fine because she wouldn't be there overnight. Before he started I mentioned to my mother that she should double check that the price was still going to be the same as quoted. He had the $279.95 but he had written down an additional charge of $75 for a walk in closet, bathroom area and an "L" shaped hallway and an additional $169 for oxidizer. No mention beforehand that this product was needed or any explanation as to what it was for until she questioned it. His explanation was it us used to brighten the carpet because they have lighter carpet. She explained that the majority of the carpet is going to be replaced in about 8 months so she felt there was no real need to use the oxidizer. Tim was very insistent that the oxidizer needs to be used and this is a great price for the product. After about 5 minutes of pressure to use oxidizer she stated that she did not want it to be used on the Berber but the rest of the carpet would be fine to do. So there is $75 charge for oxidizer. With tax, the total came to $467.40. Reluctantly she goes ahead and approves the work. She asked if she can use a credit card because the amount is so much more than planned to write a check for. There was never a straight answer from Tim. After about 2 and a half hours he finishes up meets her in the kitchen and says "wow that was a lot of work!". He explains that he needs to get going because he has a long drive back home to McKinney and has a second job to get to. He then tells her that he can't take a credit card because they are in the process of moving and their transaction machines are down. So she writes him a check and he leaves and she came and stayed the night at my place to let all the carpets dry completely. In the morning she went home to find the floors were still wet, sopping wet in some areas and the door to the area where the studio apartment was wide open. She figured she would give a little more time for the carpets to dry before calling. A few hours later she finally called, talked to Edward and explained the issue as well as the door being left wide open to the apartment area. She stated that even though the carpets do look better there are areas that are sopping wet and evidently had not been suctioned enough. She had walked over the area with white socks which turned dark because dirt was still in the carpet. He asked if she had left any fans on to which she replied that she hadn't been instructed to by Tim. His response was that she should have known to leave fans running and that we must have distracted him by talking to him so he missed drying an area. She explained that when he got to the quilting studio we left out a back door and went to the kitchen, we never stood around talking to him. She told him that she wanted the carpets to be gone over in the wet areas to get them drier. He said he would have Tim come out again, to which she said she wanted someone else, and Edward said he would get it would be taken care of. A few hours later Tim showed up again. He turned on the air conditioning in the studio apartment and reluctantly left her a few fans to use overnight to dry the areas that were really wet. She mentioned to him that he had left the door wide open and his response was, "I guess I didn't get it shut all the way". No apology. So now we are on Wednesday and the studio apartment is still wet! Not sure how all the furniture will be after sitting in water for well over a day. Mother has tried to contact Edward a couple of times this morning with no success, just voicemail. Not sure how this will end up. Best thing they could do is refund all her money because of the entire experience. Like their own website says, you get what you pay for. read more

11/5/2014 (Midlothian) Brandon arrived to clean the carpets in a home that has been empty for almost two years. Ninety percent of the furniture had already been removed and what remained was completely empty of all contents. I walked him to the first room (a small bedroom which contained a single child's bed on rollers, one empty dresser and a stick type computer desk. Brandon told me he does not moves beds and if I wanted the carpet cleaned where the bed is located I would need to break the bed down. I showed him the bed was on rollers and pushed the bed with one hand to show him a small child could move the bed. Brandon once again said he does not move beds. Brandon went on inform me of their policy that they do not move beds, electronics, valuables, heavy items etc. Brandon informed me that no carpet cleaner would move these items because they all have the same insurance company. I asked Brandon what they do when they clean a house where people actually live and have a normal amount of furniture. Brandon stated they just clean around the furniture and the high traffic areas. I told Brandon I need the entire carpets cleaned (not just the traffic areas or on the perimeter of the furniture ) and that I would move the bed and other furniture items if he would just run the carpet cleaner. Brandon then said he would not recommend it because the carpet needs air to dry and the area under the bed would not dry properly. I told Brandon that I understood the drying process and that I would move the bed around, as well as the other furniture items, later that day to allow air where they were sitting. I once again told Brandon that I would move all the furniture if he just cleaned the carpets because I needed all areas of the carpet cleaned. Brandon then stated I should call him back once the house was totally empty of all furniture that way all areas of the carpet would be cleaned. In the limited time I spoke with Brandon it was my impression that he did not have a vested interest in Gleam Clean's business success. I quickly lost confidence in his work ethic and I did not feel comfortable in their service. I politely declined the service and I will look for a company that is willing to do the job. Gleam Clean Carpet Cleaning of Waxahachie cleaned our carpets. Did a good job, Except, they did not slide the sofa & loveseat out and clean under them. Operations Mgr Brandon said that this was not part of their "Basic Service". I stated that their Web page advertisement and Yelp advertisement did not state anything about the price being for "Basic Service only" or any exceptions. Brandon seemed to only want to argue so I asked who the owner was and Brandon stated that he did not have to tell me. So 12.5% of my living room was not touched. Before i even begin i want u to know that no one is mad or upset. The truth is the truth! Yes your company came to our home & did a unsatisfactory carpet cleaning job. Were not friends were Double C as you mentioned & i called the company back myself & spoke with a guy dont remember his name but he said he was the owner/mangr something. He told me if his guys did a bad job he would send them back out that Saturday because we had the service done during the week. Well many Saturday's have gone & pass but its funny how when a review is written about our experience with you we got a call months later. No i dont want you to make anything right as the message said & no i will never use your service in the future. You say you looked up our info in your system & have no record but i have a record of your company cashing my check. Stay away from this company. We were ripped off, the owner promised 35 dollars back and he never made good with the promise. They way overcharged us. This was a complete disaster. I had a friend get the same treatment, lots of promises and they never made them good. Plus a promise to come back for a cheaper rate and they never did that. read more

When we walked into my house after he got through there was water standing in the Cape through out the house and carpet was not clean. Don't fall for their gimmicks about cleaning a garage floor the is a total rip off and it cost like 280.00.. save your money use the other company in town. read more

I read a review, which I think must have been written by the owner. They promised the carpet would look like new again (only 4 yrs old). The young man showed up 45 minutes late without calling. He did the cleaning, however, no pre-stain application or raking like was promised. I paid 169.98 (+/-) and have had the same results when renting a Rug-Doctor and doing it myself for 50.00. It was a TOTAL waste of money. read more

Although they did clean our oriental rug very nicely, here is their method of operation you need to watch out for: When I called, I received an estimate from Robert of $160 for cleaning an 8 x 10 rug. Then they pick it up. I asked at that time if he needed a check for payment, and was told no, they will get that when they deliver the rug back to me. So, rug was with them for 2 weeks, and then brought back to us. When it was placed back in place, Brandon hands me an invoice for $316!!! So I guess someone is lying, or they do a low-ball bid to get your business. I refused to pay that, and wanted to get this Robert on the phone so we could discuss it further. He said all Robert did was schedule calls, and he has no authority. So I asked who did have the authority, and he told me he did, and he adjusted the invoice reluctantly to $250. I went ahead and paid that price, simply because when I was getting bids, that seemed to be the norm for cleaning an 8 x 10 rug.
