I hired Gleason's RV service to reseal my roof on a trailer I had just bought in August. Otis quoted me $2,000 to do the perimeter caulking and all of the pertinent fixtures on the roof which did not happen. I moved to Fort Bragg and got inundated with the usual rain here causing leaks and water damage. When I got on the roof to look at what was happening I saw that I did not get the service job I paid for. Kelly refunded $1,000 I had asked for as compensation. In hindsight I should have asked for more because I've spent countless hours trying to figure out the source of the leaks. I'm sorry I trusted them. I don't know what to say if you guys choose to go with them I would think twice or make sure you can verify the work that was quoted actually got done. read more

Our Saviors In A Pinch We had a run-in with a farm vehicle which side-swiped us on the 101 and ripped off our passenger-side mirror. As we couldn't continue our travels without one, we called Gleason's and they assured us if we could get to them, they could hook us up. We gingerly drove to Salinas and limped into their shop. Luckily,, they had a variety of mirrors in the shop and were able to machine the sleeve we needed, fit a mirror and get us back on the road. Amazing people. I have a 36 foot Monaco and damaged the exhaust on a rock trying to navigate a rural woodsy rv park at night. In the morning I called a few places in Monterey and got a rather cold response from them. I found Gleason's on google and when calling spoke with Otis. His friendly attitude on the phone was a welcome response. When I told him that I am from out of town and just driving through from San Diego he told me to bring it right over and helped me immediately. What was also surprising and nice was that although he has other people who work there he personally repaired my rv so I wasn't displacing a client that was already there. The prices for rv repair are always expensive everywhere but he was super reasonable. I wish he was in San Diego because this would be my go to shop. We recently had our RV kitchen slide repaired in Southern California and our first trip out near Paso Robles we discovered that they installed our 1/2" hot and cold water hoses wrong and we didn't have the correct tool to get the pex clamps off to switch them. Gleason's Salinas RV wanted $140 to remove the clamps. They charge $100 per hour. This is maybe a 10 minute job with the right tool. read more

Our family was in the second leg of our summer vacation throughout the central coast of California when our RV nightmare began. While driving up the 101 at Four P.M. on a Friday afternoon during rush hour, a trailer full of gear, and kids and dog in the truck, the rear tire of our trailer ripped off and shot across traffic lanes due to a "frozen axle". After CHP assistance and many phone calls to RV locations that we were not familiar with, we took a leap of faith and limped our RV to Gleasons. The owner Otis handled the situation with a level of ease, experience and knowledge that was a a pleasant surprise. It was excellent service by Otis and Kelly for an excellent price. We arrived by 4:30 and departed by 5:30 with packed bearings a new wheel, and confidence that the rest of our trip would be fine. Otis , Kelly and team provide helpful, honest and reliable service. I had to bring my 26'class c in for roof maintenance and a new awning. Then as soon as I got it fix ed, I smacked the roof on an Oak tree branch requiring me to replace the whole front piece. My insurance covered 2/3 of the cost but I had to pay the rest. Otis and team fixed my rig like new. He repaired my step by modifying the existing instead of charging me for a new one. My family met the owner of this RV shop when we broke down. He didn't take advantage of the situation, in fact it wasn't until we came by the next day to thank him did we find out he owned the place. He later fixed a complicated issue with our electrical system that had eluded other shops. We always receive back our RV in record time and once, the twenty dollars that he found down in a corner was neatly placed on the table with a note. Can I say more? We love our Lance Camper and we take care of it! But when items needed repair or maintenance beyond our capability, we tried using Seagrins the "Official" Lance dealer in Gilroy, CA. Very disappointing service, lack of knowledge, poor time management scheduling and EXPENSIVE! Not to mention the 1 hour drive each way from Monterey, CA and sitting another 1 hour waiting for my service advisor appointment due to their delays...Top it off our white camper roof which was VERY clean when I dropped it off was dirty and had greasy footprints all over it after they resealed the roof caulking!?!? We tried Camping World which is even further NORTH in San Martin, CA. They're at least 3-4 weeks wait for a simple 1 item service? Plus when I inquired about a few other items needing service the shops standard reply is: "WE DON'T DO THAT...&...WE DON'T HAVE THOSE PARTS...or...GO TO LANCE" Really???....for new weather stripping, gutter downspouts and new stainless steel bolts? No interest, effort or creative resourcefulness at all. GLEASON RV says: "Yes, we can do that" or they have many ideas to share from years of experience that might work and are very knowledgeable. I was a new customer that walked thru the door and found everyone very responsive. These guys are a consistent crew that work together. You know who you're talking with and who is doing the work on your RV......not 10 different "RV Techs" that rotate thru every season and never see again? There's ownership on the work done here and the owner himself is present. They are priced fair and Otis (the owner) stuck to the estimate they previously gave me, even though a bit more time was needed for the job. More important they didn't waste my time, having to arrange our busy family schedule with my wife & baby for a ride after dropping the camper and another ride back to pick the unit up. They were ready for our appointment like planned and the service was done on schedule, ready for pick up like they said it would be when I arrived. WHAT A NOVEL IDEA!!! An appointment that actually works!!! This isn't a fancy store with banners & flags or glitzy neon signs flashing, with free coffee and popcorn to keep you busy while you sit and waste your time waiting....while 10 people in uniforms walk around with a blank stare ignoring you! It's an RV service shop where the people are about getting you in, getting the job done and getting your RV out.......WHERE WE ALL WANT OUR RV's to be.....OUT HAVING FUN! Give these guys a try. Swing by and tell them what you need. They have a fully contained/secured enclosed garage locking up your RV safely for service. If you live anywhere near Salinas or Central Coast, CA. I had multiple problems with my Roadtrek RV and thought I would need to take it to See-Grins in Gilroy, but Marlow's Mercedes in Seaside recommended Gleason's. I'm glad they did. Gleason's diagnosed and fixed the problems quickly and for about half of the price I was expecting. One of the problems involved mice chewing wires. Not only did they fix the problem, they wiped down the affected area with rubbing alcohol. First class. I've read the other reviews and had to chuckle when I saw Otis described as a grump. He certainly looks like one. But I suspect that if you treat him respectfully, you'll see the sunny side. read more

My husband and I had such a great experience with Otis and Andy at Salinas RV. We are novices at RV'ing, having just purchased a teardrop trailer. We brought our new baby home from Lake Havasu City, AZ. Toward the end of our trip the trailer seemed to be getting noisier, so we decided to bring it in to have it checked out. We read reviews on Yelp and decided to go to Gleason's. Andy, the mechanic, noted one of the wheels was indeed in need of adjustment. A quick fix, the sound of the trailer behind us is back to what we expected, and at a very fair price. While we waited we chatted with Otis, the owner, and a couple of wonderful ladies who have vintage trailers at the shop. To us, if we can get good service, and the results we need, AND have a great experience as part of the process, we are very happy campers (literally). If I could give them six stars i would. Why would anyone in this area go to Camping World when we have the best RV Service Center on the central coast? In a nut shell they are fast, responsive, professional and reasonable. Kelly runs the front office and her warm friendly smile and caring personality make bringing in your rig easy. They are always willing to help you out if you have an emergency and quick on their turn around time. But best of all is the quality work for what they charge. can't beat it. They upgraded my 32 foot Forest River MH from 30 amp to 50 amp service and installed a second A/C along with a laundry list of other things I wanted done. All in record time. They will also keep you informed if they see anything major that needs attention and often just fix minor problems because they see something but don't charge for it. I don't know any other place that takes care of it's customers like family. Locally owned and operated for over two decades this business gets my vote for the best RV service center between here and Chicago. read more

We've been customers of Gleason's for years. They're a family business and, in my opinion, the best RV service & repair shop on the Central Coast. Recently I managed to severely damage the roof my our trailer. Otis (the owner) helped with the insurance claim, started the repairs immediately, even found a previously-damaged area and fixed it, and had the trailer ready to go in less than a week. Extremely knowledgable (among other things, Otis builds race cars), very helpful, and friendly. Prices are reasonable and fair. read more

Gleesons installed a new solenoid to remedy the problem we had with the RV not charging the house batteries when the engine was running. Annoyingly, they wired the solenoid incorrectly that resulted in the engine battery supplying the house loads when the engine was not running. This drained the chassis battery when we were at the campsite. Initially, thinking the chassis battery was the problem, we replaced the chassis battery. When the chassis battery still drained we realized the problem was not the chassis battery, but was the way Gleesons had connected the wires to the new solenoid. After checking the wiring diagrams for the RV, it was obvious that Gleasons had connected the chassis and house cables the wrong way around on the solenoid. Switching the battery cables around immediately fixed the problem. They charged $135 an hour labor (over $300 labor) and connected the cables opposite to what is clearly shown on the RV wiring diagrams. Not impressed. read more
