On this visit, hash browns were the sole winner for him. As for me, I went big. I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelet topped with hollandaise sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The breakfast also came with two large pancakes. The only minor downside was that the pancakes arrived just slightly warm--not hot. I understand they're likely made ahead and held under a heat lamp while the rest of the table's orders are finished, so it wasn't a dealbreaker, and I still enjoyed them. Overall, Cari's is a great spot for breakfast, and hopefully I won't wait another eight years before my next visit!

Once you walk inside the cafe now has book shelves along the walls and register area. You are free to grab a book and read it while you are there. There is also a garden area outside you are free to sit at and eat/read. It being Texas and all you will probably avoid it in the hot months. We ended up here because most of the restaurants were closed. We were there on a Wednesday. We met the current owner, the daughter of the original owners. She's been here her whole life.... Carrie. Interesting lady. After 5:00 on Tuesdays, burgers are $1 and the cheeseburger is $2.
