This business takes advantage of grieving families, many of whom are Armenian, like them. That is deeply troubling and unacceptable. I urge everyone to not use this service. I am deeply disappointed with how this mortuary treated my family during one of the most painful moments of our lives. Linda was consistently rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and just awful. We specifically arranged for a silver hearse, confirmed in advance. On the day of my father's service, they arrived with a black hearse instead, without any explanation or apology. When we later contacted Linda to request that our father's death certificate be FedExed, she refused, stating she was "running a business," and then hung up on us. $5,000 for services. What a shame. Maybe a group of professionals can teach you how to run a professional business because you are doing a horrible job. When we went in person to retrieve the certificate, we were met with the same level of disrespect. We asked around and realized that this is how they treat all their customers. The mistakes they made could have all been rectified with a simple apology and kindness. But we got the exact opposite. read more

Extremely unprofessional experience, particularly with the woman who answered the phone. She was rude, dismissive, and even hung up on me mid-conversation. That kind of behavior is unacceptable in any setting, especially in an environment where compassion and professionalism should be the standard. They told us that if they didn't hear from us they would "drop his body off at my house at 1pm" That is EXTREMELY illegal and wrong on every level, also told me they would be charging me $50 per day for storage until I pay them, IM IN THE HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW! they don't care about families or their loved ones, only profit. I've planned a few funerals at Rose Hills, that's where most of my family has been going for years and we have property there. I'm use to Rose Hills pricing and pushy unethical sales tactics. Hye Funeral Services was recommended by a few different friends and family. I will admit I was extremely skeptical of Hye Funeral Services, especially since their pricing was significantly lower than what I've paid in the past, but after dealing with Hye Funeral, I can not recommend them enough. Their service and pricing was excellent. They're located in a building that looks like a converted house with a few parking stalls in front. We went in and everyone was fairly welcoming. We were seated immediately and they began collecting details about our loved one. After the details were collected they started discussing their services and pricing. Being that I am extremely familiar with Rose Hills pricing, I was blown away with the prices at Hye Funeral. I couldn't believe my eyes. Their prices are very fair and significantly lower than any of the major local mortuaries. Their price list is displayed directly on the table and there was no guessing or games when it came to the pricing of their services. They have a small but good selection of caskets on site, but some of the items such as the guest books leave you with very limited options. Overall, I left very satisfied with the service we received and impressed by their pricing. The day of our loved one's service, the staff of Hye Funeral were with us the entire time and made sure we had everything we needed and services went smoothly. read more

My family and I were at Valhalla Memorial in North Hollywood, making arrangements to secure our father's plot (terminal cancer). Upon leaving, my mother noticed Glendale Hye's van and asked them what they did. Within minutes, they were communicating in Arabic to each other (most are Armenian but they almost all speak Arabic) This was nice for my mom and with language, there is an understanding of customs. My mom and I went to Glendale Hye and met with Linda. Linda was amazing. Was able to walk us through the process of what happens, etc. We appreciated this very much. We also appreciated how much we were going to be saving going to Glendale Hye vs. Valhalla Memorial. Close to 3k. This was important to my father, as he was always a bargain shopper. When my dad passed, Glendale Hye was professional and respectful and walked us through the process. They allowed my mother to secure the staff she felt she had a relationship with to do the day of service. The day of, almost everything went off without a problem. It was hard seeing my father the months leading to his death as he was sick, frail and in constant pain. Glendale Hye made him look at peace. I know some people wish they never see their parent in a casket and they can't get that image out of their head. Seeing my father in his casket, at peace, looking healthier than he had looked in months gave us the closure we needed. We had a lot of cars, and should have secured a couple more police escorts, but that wasn't Glendale Hye's fault. Actually, the police escorts asked my mother if she wanted to secure a couple more as they could get a couple more motorcycle cops in minutes and my mom said no (wish they spoke to me, my mom wasn't in her right mind). Glendale Hye and their staff were able to offer us a beautiful, peaceful, smooth service. We can't thank them enough for all their help and will highly recommend them to family and friends in the future. We made a few calls and were getting extremely large quotes for cremation services, not to mention the long wait to obtain the services. Me being Armenian myself know how there's haters in our culture so I put aside what had been told Eti me and went with my gut. I'm so glad I did. They held my hand through the whole process. My dad passed away and normally my dad would be the one to do everything. This time it was me and they were so supportive, so diligent, so after every detail. If you do not care for how, when, or in what way your deceased be buried, then you have found the perfect place. We felt rushed throughout the whole process. They made it more complicated than it should have been. Each time we asked them if an alternative option was possible they replied with no or my favorite "Chalar". They even had the audacity to surcharge us for having tents at the funeral when they had forced us dates in which it would be raining. The funny part is that they claim to have given us tents, but it was actually the cemetery that provided them. These people are uncaring and only look for dollar signs. She wrote down several prices for services and did not want to give me a copy of the prices she quoted (required by law for them to give). She said they do not allow using a casket bought elsewhere (even though the law requires them to allow it).
