Greg gave us a very thorough tour of the facilities and was very professional in answering all our questions. Nice venue. Adequate parking. Some ADA spaces. Large lobby area. She stated that the area was for teachers only, despite other parents having been in the same area moments before. Before I even had the opportunity to acknowledge her instructions or step back, she rushed me out and physically blocked me from capturing the quick photo I was trying to take. I felt as though I was being treated like a child rather than a parent attending an important milestone. A simple and respectful statement such as, "Excuse me, this area is reserved for staff. Please step back," would have been more than sufficient. I understand the need to enforce boundaries, but I believe the interaction could have been handled with much more courtesy and professionalism. Blocked areas with signs would have prevented any misunderstanding for graduation.

Most of the funding only funds the robotics and cinema teams. Teachers do not teach and fail students on purpose and the administration has not done anything to fix the problem since they don't hear anyone out. We told the counselors about the issues they're having with teachers but they don't care at all and never do anything about it. I told my teachers before hand that I had a competition to go to and needed extra time to do the homework, I finished it and showed it to them and they said that apparently it's too late, it was impossible to finish all the homework they assigned, plus the extra homework they gave in one day so they gave me a zero. Kortoshian and Landisi ruined this school and they don't know how to run a school. They give you a ton of homework and tests which take away all your free time. No one deserves to go to this school.

Clark touts recognition at the state and national levels for being a top school, and likes to promote its GUSD-leading API ranking, but let's be honest here, the bar is low. There are a few staff members and teachers who care about and do their jobs well, but on the whole, Clark is a case study on academic mismanagement and why many students in the American educational system succeed in spite of the schools they attend rather than because of them. As I sit here at 27 years of age writing this, I'm fairly happy with where I am in my life. I graduated from a top university and work at a job I love, which just happens to be with one of the most successful companies in history. I'm not trying to come off sounding like a tool here, but I want to make it clear that my success in these two areas commonly associated with a quality high school education came as a result of my own hard work, talent, and determination rather than anything Clark can take credit for. Thank you, Clark, for the 'innovative' curriculum that ended up being completely misaligned with the first-year prerequisites at nearly every U.S. university, the lack of any *quality* extracurricular activities, and your Draconian code-of-conduct which sought to stifle any sort of self-expression and created a culture hell-bent on breeding America's next group of mindless followers rather than its future innovators, thinkers, and leaders. On a more personal note, thanks for the 4 or 5 (?) suspensions as well. Like Andy Oh, I guess I too am a gangster. This review is getting too long and angsty already, so I think I'll end here. I will leave you with one last funnier memory, though. During one of its first years in operation, Clark was extremely excited to field a team for the district-wide academic bowl. Expectations were set high since, you know, Clark was full of nothing but the brightest students being coached by the best staff. End result? Last place finish.

My daughter learned how to read in Kindergarten and is now learning to compose full sentences with confidence and creativity. It's wonderful to see her enthusiasm for learning grow! Glendale Adventist Academy has created such a positive and nurturing environment, and I couldn't be happier with the foundation my child is receiving here. For those who write negative reviews- In 2025 the administration changed and with change comes adaptation- Most parents could not accept changes with stricter administrative regulations for safety.

At a Christian…read moreschool, you would expect kindness, compassion, and genuine community to be at the center of everything. But instead, my sister has faced bullying, exclusion, and cruelty from students who are supposed to represent love and faith. My family chose this school because Christianity is a core part of our lives, and we believed she would be surrounded by peers who shared those values. Instead, she was met with the exact opposite; mockery, unkindness, and behavior that is the furthest thing from what God teaches. This isn't about one student. This is a cultural problem, a failure in guidance and leadership. If a school claims to prioritize faith, then it should actively teach empathy, humility, and compassion and not allow hurtful behavior to go unchecked. Do better. Hold your students accountable. Teach them to live the values you preach, not just speak them. No child deserves to feel alone or targeted in a place that claims to be built on God's love.

Principals and yard staff are so obviously biased about punishing kids it's funny. The school does educate kids on academics but not to ever use a single ounce of their brain to clean up after themself. Some examples: 1. Bathroom had the fattest turd in it that a snobby kid left to not flush 2. Little gremlin kids slob around all the lunch tables I swear to whatever god is up there these kids cannot fathom how to actually be hygienic and keep the campus clean. Also, the school kind of looks like a prison. Theres barely any grass most of the campus is just asphalt it's so depressing. My favorite experiences were Science School (which you have to wait the entire time you are at the school for) and the teachers that are chill. To a student currently attending this school, I hope you enjoy or enjoyed pre-k to 3rd grade because everything in your life will crumble down to dust before meaninglessly blowing away into the wind. Kids will discover trends or stereotypes one way or another. And to the teachers that are actually chill I wish you the best in everything that comes to this school.

Now that we are here, I can say it is a very good school, but it is not perfect. The teachers are very knowledgeable and most of them really care about helping students. My son has found a few teachers he really connects with, which makes a big difference. The campus is clean and safe, and the students are serious about school but not boring. They also have a lot of activities like sports, theater, and clubs, which I like because it keeps the kids balanced. At the same time, I feel like Prep expects the students to manage everything by themselves. If your child is already very outgoing and knows what they want, it is a great place. But if your child is quieter, or needs more help finding their way, it can feel overwhelming. Sometimes I wish the school checked in more instead of just assuming the kids will ask for help if they need it. Also, socially it is a little tricky. Most students are friendly on the surface, but real friendships are hard to build if you are not already part of a group. It can be lonely sometimes, especially for new students. Overall, I am still very happy my son is at Prep, but it took longer to feel comfortable than I expected. You really have to be your child's advocate and make sure they speak up and find their place.
