Nothing says "law enforcement" like a patrol car exceeding the speed limit to catch up to you only for them to stay glued to your rear bumper, flooding your mirrors with headlights and tailgating so aggressively that one wrong move could cause an accident or for them to have an excuse to pull you over. I wasn't speeding. I wasn't driving recklessly. I wasn't doing anything suspicious. Yet the goal seemed obvious! Apply pressure, create anxiety, and hope for a mistake. If i could give this place zero stars l, i would. An inmate tries to call me. I get prompted to add credit card information for 10+ minutes. Nothing is connected. I hang up. I then call Glendora police Department, they route my call to the "jail" section. It rings for 5 minutes, no one picks up. I call back, let the officer know what's going on, he tries to connect me again, and also says they don't ask for credit card information via phone, wtf? I call back and say, "Can you at least transfer a message that i am trying to get a hold of someone?" They say, "No, we are not allowed to do that." I say, "how else can i get a hold of them? Can i just come down and see them?" They say, "Yes." I drive down there, then they tell me i can't see them, that the "jailor" is on the way to the courthouse, and it will be another hour and a half. At this point, i am wondering what part of The Matrix i am in. Literally, a whole bunch of officers, but absolutely no what to communicate. I am not sure if this is an idsue with every police department or just this one. I feel terrified that we have these people running things and "serving or protecting" anything. I am truly baffled and feel bad this is where all the tax dollars go. On top of all this, i say that the inmate needs medication, which i have. Shouldn't you at least check on that? Maybe they need it. Their response was, "we check every hour on them." Good lord. God forbid someone dies in their custody needing medication, which could be easily provided by someone who knows them more than they know their job. God save us all...awful. read more

My adult son has special needs and he went missing. As you can imagine, we were very, very scared. Officer Vargas was amazing. He came out immediately and he was both empathetic and professional. He left his card and told us he would call with updates, which he did every step of the way. The officer also came back for a piece of my son's clothing so the search crew could get a K9 to track our son. They weren't wasting ANY time or leaving any stone unturned. Our son was found and the entire crew was there, and they were kind and calming to my son and let him pet Cooper the doggo and just overall made my son and us feel very calm and like everything was going to be fine. I can't express how grateful I am to Glendora PD. I really can't. We were shaken as heck. We had no idea what to do but they guided us every step of the way and made sure our son was safe and sound. This one star is for the Traffic "Corporal" in charge of citation admin reviews. As he stated it is a complete waste of time to make any attempt to dispute a overnight parking ticket, since he is in charge of the disposition of the ticket. No attempt to help me get in contact with the third party company that gives these pointless overnight cites. Instead he states "good luck it's going to be pretty hard to get ahold of anyone to explain your situation" Do yourself the favor buy yourself a overnight pass there is no leniency for mistakes or forgetting, no one cares. Don't try and dispute the ticket because you will just get strong armed and be told your citation just went from $51 to $96. Complete and utter joke that the city uses as a additional stream of revenue. It seems like the only enforcement that gets done is by the third party company that drives around and gets a kick out of citing the working class. As stated this review is for the corporal. A piece of advice get a better system in place or don't call yourself the "traffic corporal". There is no point of having a third party company in our city that you cannot get a hold of via phone. We lived in Glendora for almost 22 years and found many things to love about the so-called "Pride of the Foothills." But I never had much success with the local police department. I won't miss them at all. I called them perhaps seven or eight times over the years, and each time they made me feel like I was the problem. They shrugged-off every concern I bought to their attention. Examples: Once I heard a young kid getting beaten one block over from my residence. He was screaming in agony. I called 911. An officer showed up about a half hour later. He was literally eating a pastry as he exited his patrol unit. "What's your problem?," were his words as he exited. I told him it wasn't my problem...but that I had heard a kid being severely beaten and I thought it needed to be checked out. The officer grudgingly got in his patrol vehicle and slowly drove off. I did not see him stop in front of the house where I had heard the screams. One night some drunk people were walking down Citrus about 3am, and they were making lots of noise and throwing huge landscaping rocks into the road. I called it in. No one ever picked up the rocks. I ran down to the street in my jammies and picked them up from the middle of the road. I didn't want any motorcyclist killed or car destroyed. One day my wife came home with our two toddlers. There was a key stuck in our front doorknob. I told her to not go in, but to call Glendora PD and have them do a safety check. Two officers arrived and they spent over an hour in our home. How long does it take to verify that there is no one in the house? It was obvious that they used this invite to search the house. Stuff was moved around throughout the house. We felt very violated. About two years ago I was walking my elderly Mini-Schnauzer on a leash around the neighborhood. A man walked by with three unleashed dogs. They immediately attacked my dog. I called 911. "This is a matter for Animal Control." The dispatcher said she would transfer me, but she instead disconnected me. Most recently, I had a weird encounter at the local LA Fitness. Some thug was bullying people off of exercise equipment, particularly elderly people such as myself. When I didn't yield and allow him to push me off a machine, he called me a "c___ sucker." I called 911. The thug fled the scene once he realized the cops were enroute. The officers told me that such language was not a crime in the Pride of the Foothills. Apparently, the officers don't understand PC 148. (Furthermore, that particular "CS" term is arguable hate-crime language.) The officers would not even solicit identifying information for the guy. (The manager at LA Fitness told me he had already obtained all the info for the cops--but they never requested it.) Just because District Attorney George Gascon is not doing his job, does not create license for Glendora PD to not do theirs. The only time I ever observed Glendora PD to be motivated was when they would hand out speeding tickets in the mornings to the kids at Citrus College. Most of those kids are struggling financially, and it seemed obscene to be targeting them every morning for minor infractions. The "Pride of the Foothills" needs the Sheriff's Department to come in and do the job right. read more

This review is for my visit yesterday when I came to submit my fingerprints. Wait, I can explain. No, I'm not a criminal...I needed Live Scan fingerprinting so I can help couch my son's t-ball team and the Glendora PD offered to do it for the Glendora National Little League free of charge. I arrived a few minutes after nine, checked in, then waited a few minutes while they finished up with the guy before me. When it was my turn I walked in the room where the lady entered my info and proceeded to take my fingerprints. After a few minutes I was done and on my way. This morning when I was taking my dog out for her walk and her training, my dog was almost run over intentionally by a woman who lives in the mobile home park where I reside. Following the incident the manager came out and calmed me down and my dog who was nervous from the incident. I explained to her what happened and so she checked the cameras but it was not in the line of view to capture the incident with the automobile. After about 20 minutes sitting on my Walker and calming my heart rate down while my manager stood there with me, I continued my walk to the appointment I had with the dog groomer. When I got back I contacted the Glendora Police Department to notify them that a woman in the park had used your automobile as a weapon against my dog. It was done intentionally not accidentally. They were excellent they came out right away and took down incident a report. I thought better that they did not speak to the person. I just wanted it documented in the event this woman did something else in the future that could be detrimental to myself or my dog. They were going to speak to her but I told them it would escalate the problem because this woman is very vindictive. I asked them not to confront her this time, however if another incident occurs I wanted documentation to show there's a pattern of her reckless driving, and use of an automobile as a weapon. They agreed hesitantly because they did want to try to do something at this point but the most they could do was talk to her and that would make things even more difficult and possibly cause other problems. The police department should be commended they were very patient with me as I'm 72 years old and disabled therefore I use a walker. I was surprised that they came so quickly. I would like to add this is my second interaction with the Glendora police department and both times they have been right there I'm taking care of problems that have arisen. I love Glendora Police Department! Their response time is amazing, they are always pleasant to talk to, and they keep us feeling safe! I love knowing that they'll be there quickly if I call 911. I've had them knock on my door twice in the middle of the night to either ask a question about a call they received, or more recently, to check my backyard for a possible thief! They are so respectful that they're waking us up late at night and I'm so appreciative of their hard and thorough work. I've even had the pleasure of having them bring my lost phone back to me! If i could give a negative star i would. This yelp is strictly towards officer Lopez is by far the worst parking pass inspector ever. Due to his carelessness to even bother checking the vehicle properly to see if there was a parking pass sticker on the window which I've had since the beginning 2021. The sticker was clearly visible to where i can see it but he still gave me a ticket. I'm now dealing with a delinquent notice that I never received in the mail and no one seems to cares or even bother to help out. Just needed to come here to say that Officer Julie is an absolute gem! She has helped me and many others properly install my car seat. If you think it's a piece of cake, chances are you're still doing something wrong. And why not get it checked out when a child's life is in the balance? She is a certified tech, unlike most fire dept or CHP personnel (contrary to popular opinion), and she is just very knowledgeable and personable....does not guilt you about any mistakes at all! Really disappointed in the GPD! My kid was pulled over by the GPD and was harassed and threatened to be taken to jail if she was lying. She is a very intelligent young black person. (Context: she lost her wallet) She is smart enough to not put her myself in stupid sutuations. The officer conducted a search of her car, saying it was to find her id. Fortunately the partner was less confrontational and helped to calm my 19 year old down and did not just assume the Blacks guilt. Yesterday, my wife and I stoped for lunch at Jersey Mike's on Route 66 and Beranca. We observed an officer pull in, walk up to a homeless man to talk to him. After a minute or so, the officer walked back to his vehicle, opened the back door, pulled out a pair of shoes and gave them to the homeless man. This was first class. This was something that needs to be recognized. I am comforted knowing that most of thw men and women, serving our community have genuine good hearts for "all" the people they serve. read more

Great Police Services. Congratulations to the Glendora Police Dept on protecting our community. Every time I have interacted with them they have been professional (yes, even when giving citations), and in emergencies they arrive fast. I saw two officers stop to help a homeless and/or lost elderly woman who was by herself and confused at the Glendora Post Office on a Sunday. They were very kind. Glendora is one of the safest communities in the area and the criminals know everyone is on the lookout for them, but in a law-abiding way that protects individual rights. We LOVE the "No overnight street parking" regulation. This makes it easy to spot vehicles that are not associated with a residence who may be up to no good. While nothing is perfect all the time, this is the best police department of any city I know of. read more

We had an issue in front of our house with an unknown individual and the Glendora PD responded with the utmost swiftness. As the guy was driving away, Glendora PD came rushing down our street and was able to spot, pull over and arrest the guy for being in the shape he was. On April 23,2017 I called Glendora police department to meet me at a friends house to get my dog that she had threaten to drown and belongings because I was visiting from Utah and my friend snapped on me for no reason other then jealousy because I was in San Diego for my nephews birth. My dad and I met the police at 7-11, there were 3 officers that showed up. I explain the reasoning of the call and then we all drove over to my friends address. The 3 officers walk up to the door as I followed them.. My friends husband had my stuff ready on the porch and handed me my dog. All the while my friend is cussing the cops out and then try's to charge at me while my dad and I are taking my stuff to the car... These 3 cops are doing Nothing!!!!!!!!!! I just shake my head and think to myself this in Unbelievable that someone is this crazy and getting away with this type of behavior in front of 3 police officers, because I know for a Fact that you would Never get away with acting like that in Utah.. So my dad and I finish getting my belongings and get in the car.(there is police officer parked right behind me and we are parked on the side of the house)I go to take off and my friend goes in the backyard and throws a chair over the fence and it hits my car right in front of the officers. My dad and I proceed to get out and look at the damage and one of the police officers shine a light on my car and said your car is fine just get out of here.. I said No my car is not okay. I'm pist at this time, my car is brand new. I go to Best Buy and call dispatch back and told her nicely to send those cops back to Best Buy because I want to file charges and that this is crazy that the cops allow someone to throw a chair at my car and get away with it and not even get in trouble and it happened right in front of their faces. Officer comes back out, I tell him the same things, I want to file charges. He takes mine and my dads information and told me that someone would be in contact with me and gave me a case number... I waited a couple weeks after returning to Utah and called Glendora police department to see what was going on with the case and they couldn't even find the case because there was never a report or a case filed.. I really am upset now, absolutely ridiculous... It took months for my insurance company to be able to access a report because no one wanted to write up a report.. How freaking Lazy can you possibly get? I have a list of names of officers,sergeants, detective and I think even the gang unit department.. I have had to call them way to many times to get something done. The report finally gets done and it doesn't even say anything about me wanting to file charges, I call back to GPD and talk to several other people and they said don't worry we will file the charges.. I say to them it has been 6 months and it is my right to want to file charges.. I'm exhausted with this Police department, absolutely insane what I've had to go through and still haven't heard Anything from the courts, so there for ,I guess it is okay to throw a chair at someone's car and do a $1000.00 in damage and get away with it.. It makes me sad that this is how I get treated and I am the innocent one and not only that , Glendora is my childhood home. I went to Sutherland, Goddard, and Glendora High school and now when I come home to visit I will know that I am not safe in Glendora nor do I have any protection from Glendora Police Department.. I have been so upset with all of this that I wanted to contact the District Attorney or someone that would listen but I am completely Exhausted from this and I already have health issues and all the stress is not worth my health. All I can do is put it in Gods hands and pray that these officers get it together and that the courts contact me because No one should get away with this type of behavior.
