Monrovia is another great Police Department I have had nothing but great experiences with. I lived in Monrovia back in 2000, up to 2010. That was a good 10 years of my life. I do not live there anymore, but Chief Roger Nelson was the Police Chief back than, and he retired in 2010, around the time I moved away. Monrovia would always come quick if I needed help with them. Many of the men and women dedicated their time to the community in fighting gangs out of the city. I do not know how they are handling task around the city now a days, but I remember all the good officers during my time living in the city.

Per Google, below is what it came up with... - 1913 Restaurant & Bar offers contemporary American cuisine - Grano Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar features authentic Italian food - The Old Spaghetti Factory has a unique dining experience with an antique-themed decor - Los Alberto's is known for its fresh and flavorful Mexican food - El Salvadoreno is a popular spot for pupusas - Tacos Ensenada is famous for its fish tacos - Young's Gourmet has Chinese and other Asian cuisine. - Heemo Sushi is a sushi restaurant - Hao Cafe is highly-rated for Asian food Funny, I have not been to any one of the above restaurants. I may need to heighten my must try restaurant checklist and include a few of these. When you see my reviews, you'll know which ones made it on the list LOL. Here I come Duarte!

It's just what a sight to see so many of them here all gathered around in one corner from the 'City of Duarte.' But the 'City of Duarte,' also neighbors the 'City of Arcadia!!!! WHEW, was that a long sentence or what! OK, I've caught my breath. Permit me to move on. Since those days of long ago, Irwindale, under my brother's (Mayor Patrick Miranda, R.I.P.) business savvy, successfully lured these Job Creators to settle in: Miller Brewing Company, Scirracha (SIC), A Race Way and others. Also, remember that Two-Lane Country Road I mentioned- Irwindale Avenue? Well, it's been widened into a Road that accommadates two lanes running East & two running West. My early Home behind that "Bar" I told you about, is now a small Auto Business but that pine tree (in front), that I could never climb, is still there too, but taller. The Elementary School I was forcefully made to attend is now gone- a Neighborhood of Residences now occupies that land as do other assorted Business all around it's perimeter. Irwindale is bounded by the 605 FWY on it's West side. The 210 on its North and the 10 on its South side. The City has a killer bike path sitting on top of a huge man-made barrier of piled rocks, picnic areas and such. The several Rock Quarries (within the City Limits) supply the demand for building materials. Many of my male relatives made Irwindale what it is today. Julian Miranda was Chief of Police. Julian's Son was a successful L.A.P.D. Officer, Patrick (As previously mentioned) was mayor for, I believe, Five or Seven Terms and was honored by the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors (or was it the L.A. City Council?) For his Progressive Leadership. And ME!? Well, I'm glad to say, "I'm a NoBody!" and sincerely mean it. I'll be gone soon but The City of Irwindale will remain "The Mouse That Roared!" Thanks. Hope I didn't bore you to tears.

Staff are mostly friendly and helpful and I enjoy visiting - it's really interesting to browse all of the historical photos along the walls of Monrovia in past eras! The building is large and very well laid out with lots of signs indicating the department and the various city officials' offices. They have an information desk in the lobby as you walk in and the staff there are always happy, welcoming, and helpful in directing you. I've encountered some staff a little annoyed to have to help me at first but they always warm up and the interactions have always ended on lovely notes. Going in person is always my last resort but has always been the best way to get results. I always start with emails - and they always go unanswered. Next I move onto phone calls which almost always go to voicemail and again, never get a return call. This is why I'm knocking off a star. Going forward I will probably just save myself the headache and go in person to begin with lol. Otherwise the city is mostly great to interact with on a "business" level. On a personal level the city does a great job fostering community and we absolutely love living here! (FAIL). Even though I hate going to Post Offices in person (why the reason I bought stamps ONLINE), I decided to quickly go while I was at work. I originally was going to one in Azusa, but realized there was one closer to me right off of Irwindale Ave. From the photos and other reviews, I realized this would be a tiny Post Office and looked on Google Maps to see where I could park. Other than the tiny parking lot, it looks like there is plenty of street parking, but just read the signs for the street sweeping days. LOCATION: The post office is located east of Irwindale Ave and on the north side of Calle del Norte. Irwindale Park is on the south side. I arrived just before 10:30AM and there was one spot open in the small parking lot (WOOHOO!). As soon as I walked in there was NOBODY there! Two ladies were eager to assist me and answered all my questions. I was literally out the door within 2 minutes. That was by far the greatest experience I've ever had at any USPS office. Note that they are open from 10AM to 4:00PM and they just close between 2:00-2:30PM for their lunch break. 116/100 Reviews for 2016
