I wasn't speeding. I wasn't driving recklessly. I wasn't doing anything suspicious. Yet the goal seemed obvious! Apply pressure, create anxiety, and hope for a mistake. Maybe that's considered policing these days. To me it looked a lot more like intimidation than public safety.

I call back and say, "Can you at least transfer a message that i am trying to get a hold of someone?" They say, "No, we are not allowed to do that." I say, "how else can i get a hold of them? Can i just come down and see them?" They say, "Yes." I drive down there, then they tell me i can't see them, that the "jailor" is on the way to the courthouse, and it will be another hour and a half. At this point, i am wondering what part of The Matrix i am in. Literally, a whole bunch of officers, but absolutely no what to communicate. I am not sure if this is an idsue with every police department or just this one. I feel terrified that we have these people running things and "serving or protecting" anything. I am truly baffled and feel bad this is where all the tax dollars go. On top of all this, i say that the inmate needs medication, which i have. Shouldn't you at least check on that? Maybe they need it. Their response was, "we check every hour on them." Good lord. God forbid someone dies in their custody needing medication, which could be easily provided by someone who knows them more than they know their job. God save us all...awful.

If you ask them to provide you with anything even a business card, the wait is 1hr+, they'll ask everyone one by one in the office, if they can give a business card until they finally sit down and grab the card and yap with each other. Only then will they come back to the window to give it to you after 1hr passes, that must be their quota to make the 8 hours go by. If you need a property receipt ask the Sargent he will make the officer write one out because the officers don't want to give you accurate information. If you need a letter stating why the police can't give you a report and the officers say no, ask for the Sargent and he will make them do it. They have to be told by their Sargent before they can do their jobs, like babies. Don't let them turn you away, know your rights!!

I do not live there anymore, but Chief Roger Nelson was the Police Chief back than, and he retired in 2010, around the time I moved away. Monrovia would always come quick if I needed help with them. Many of the men and women dedicated their time to the community in fighting gangs out of the city.
