As others have mentioned, the wait times at this office are unacceptable. 2 hours waiting for the doctor is ridiculous. I have never had an appointment here where I didn't wait at least an hour. What's the point of making an appointment if the doctor doesn't stay on schedule? I have better things to do with my time. When you do finally get to see the doctor, the appointment is rushed. Went for a 2 year follow up for my daughter. The tech was rude, judgemental, dismissive, and had the worst attitude. She even yelled at another patient later in the visit telling her things like "I don't even know why you're here." and "We have an office to run.". It was super uncomfortable to hear/witness and the other staff just giggled about it. The doctor seemed to rush through our appointment and seemed mildly annoyed when we asked questions. The wait times are abysmal. I take my father there periodically, and I have to wait most of an afternoon waiting for the provider. When staff were questioned about the wait times, and why they are consistently long, they just shrug their shoulders. It seems that they overbook their time slots in the interest of ... ? I've worn eye glasses from the age of 5, and now that I am over 65 my eye care is more important to me than ever. I cannot imagine not being able to drive when I want to go somewhere; it would seriously impact my independence to lose my driving privileges. So, when Dr. Solomon explained how cataracts affect my night vision (seeing halos around oncoming headlights, halos around traffic lights!), I understood the need for lens replacement. One morning In 2017, I underwent cataract removal and lens replacement (all in the same morning) at GFEA's beautiful facility down at exit 16 off the Northway. My checkup the following day was without a hitch. Everyone was wonderful to me, patient and kind. I've never heard a cross or rude word at their office off Bay Road in Queensbury. I've had to work closely with their billing representative, who has a great sense of humor as well as having expertise concerning various Medicare rules. It's now 2023 and I continue to see Dr. Solomon and his staff, and I recommend them in every way. You are in not just good hands; you're in the best hands! read more

I have found Dr Solomon, staff and office to be well organized, helpful, and easy to work with. The emphasis on patient education is best practice. I have had two surgeries with Dr Solomon and am pleased with the outcomes but again what really makes my review a five is the education and information provided to me to help me make good decisions and the patient education. read more

Dr. Solomon and staff were wonderful to work with and I received personable and great care! I was not familiar with his work but my first referral didn't accept my insurance, United Health Care Essential plan, after I made repeated inquiries regarding such considerations. Before my surgery my vision was so poor I didn't see a stone on the road on my way to work. It destroyed my transmission at an expense of $2300.00. Now after my two cataract surgeries and use of the state of the art measurement system ORA, I almost have 20/20 vision at the age of 58. I have a new lease on life as I have traveled the world and wish to continue to do so. I am also much better able to perform my duties at my retirement work, property management and a part time job. The staff where I underwent surgery were most professional and caring. The facility was relatively new, pleasant and cheerful, with top of the line equipment. I called for a routine eye examination for a new patient and was told that I needed to "start with an optometrist" since "our doctors are medical doctors" and insurance doesn't pay for routine screenings. I am fully aware of what my insurance does and does not pay for, and also, as an RN, I am quite familiar with the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist. The person on the phone was condescending and borderline rude. I will find another ophthalmologist practice for my eye care. read more

I have been to this office several times and had my day wasted by the wait times. Even if you call ahead to ask if the provider is on time, they still make you wait an hour to see the provider. Additionally the staff is incredibly rude and condescend to the patients checking in/out. Basically they move you through like cattle - very slowly. Never going back to this place. read more

I have been with Dr. Brassel for 44 years. I have had nothing but great care. I only have one eye, and he has done everything in his power to save my one good eye. I started out with him from the very beginning from Glen St., to Quaker Village, to Bay Rd. I think he is excellent, and wouldn't trust my eye to anyone else.
