I will not give opinions, I will give fact. Maintenance flooded my apartment with up to two inches of water even running into the hallway and left. Hours later when the water went away, I discovered that they also broke the toilet and left me without water in the sink. It has been two nights now without use of a toilet and sink. I stopped using my bed months now bc of heavy smoke filling up the room. Now there is an unusual odor filling up the room so that I still won't sleep in there; I close off the door. Living here was HORRIBLE! The building manager ANA COLON should not have a job here. She is disrespectful, has no consideration for any of the tenants, and is overall a disgusting human being. My kitchen in my apartment was FILLED with roaches and mice crawling everywhere, it was inhabitable. I have young children and its just not safe. I've reported this countless times to the manager ANA COLON and she refuses to do anything about it. The maintenance men are perverted towards minors, absolutely disgusting. When ive needed anything repaired, they either don't show up or they put a temporary bandaid on it. These people are flippers, and they are frauds. The tenants are ------ and there is always fights in the parking lot, there is this particular tenant that lets her kids roam free, open all the doors to the building and leaves them open which is a security issue, her kids are constantly playing ding dong ditch on people's door, always just hanging out in the stairway and leaving trash all over. These same kids are always putting things in and out of people's mailbox. Its just alot. The swat team has been in this building due to the same woman haboring fugitives and stealing cars. I have a hard time choosing between 1 and 2 stars for this place. It's a shame, because I feel that this is a huge opportunity being blown. It's such a convenient location, and the space and storage in the apartments is great. It was a good start for me to get out on my own, and the first year or so there was okay. I did have a problem with my air conditioner, and it took some work to get that taken care of. It was clearly on the fritz, making way too much noise, dimming the lights, and not getting very cold. Maintenance supposedly came out multiple times and didn't see any of that happening, which is hilarious, because it was pretty obvious. But I did eventually get a brand new air conditioner, so, fine. My second year+ there was not good at all. There was a leak in the ceiling in my bedroom closet. It was luckily not in the walk-in closet, but was obviously still a problem. The leak was never fixed. Not only was it never fixed, but the roof kept getting worse and worse. Eventually, a new drip started by the bedroom window, and then a gash opened up in the middle of the bedroom. To top it off, whatever was used to seal off the air conditioners was not enough, because water started coming in around them and dripping onto the floor or running down the walls. My shower also backed up twice. We also lost heat in the winter of 2012, and maintenance did some sort of temporary fix, where we were getting heat, but couldn't control it with the thermostat. The permanent fix was never done, as I noticed the heat still randomly coming on with the thermostat turned all the way down. I should mention that another semi-issue with my particular apartment was that it used to be one giant apartment, but was split into 2 separate units. Because of that, I had already been sharing the use of my thermostat with my neighbor. I think that's another obvious indicator of the lack of effort put into this building. If you're going to split the apartment into 2 separate units, at least put the work/money in to split up the heat. Basically, management and maintenance will not fix your problems. Even serious problems, like the ones I had. It probably doesn't help that the building manager changed 3 times since I first moved in. Also, if maintenance does finally manage to come out and fix something, they do not even remotely clean up after themselves. It took a while, but my shower was finally fixed shortly before I moved out, and it was basically just "there, I fixed it". It was left filthy, and that's not the first time that something like that happened. It's just a shame that management is so poor. I was not planning on leaving, but pretty much had to, because the place was falling apart. I've read here and elsewhere that others who've left had trouble getting their money back. I did a lot of research on this, as I was breaking my lease to leave. Keep in mind that you have rights as a tenant. All leases in PA have an implied warranty of habitability, so if there is any serious defect (like a roof leak) that has not been fixed by the landlord within a reasonable amount of time, you have some options. You can absolutely sue the landlord for rent that you paid while the problem persisted. I unfortunately had to resort to that threat, which I normally wouldn't do, but I needed to get my money back. I traded in my keys for a check that covered the last month's rent and security deposit that I paid when I signed the lease. It also helps to know your lease. I went over it well and even found a portion stating that if the unit was damaged, rent would be reduced by the amount that was damaged. My rent was not reduced, and it actually went up with each lease renewal. The lease also stated that management would notify me 90 days in advance of a rent change on a lease renewal, which didn't happen. They were consistently late on that. There was a whole section on the tenant being responsible for not allowing mold/mildew, yet my roof was allowed to leak for over a year. Look for anything that can help you. Take notes of all of your phone calls, or, preferably, have your conversations via email. The walls are extremely thin, and you can hear EVERYTHING. To the point where it sounds like your neighbors are actually IN your apartment. It's lucky that they were mostly quiet people, but I heard them showering, puking, having sex, knew the details of entire conversations. The train is also very loud, though I was willing to put up with it for the convenience of it, since I take it to work every day. The intersection is also VERY busy and loud. I am finally getting out of this hole and know that it is hard to find a place the allows pets so if anyone is planning on a year rental then go ahead. But if you are planning on a while, DON'T DO IT. The owner only cared about his self and his money, the former property manger is deceitful and FAKE! They are now involved, shocking! I have had everything happen to me here that could have been prevented from leaking ceiling to mold growing inside bedroom wall to leaking windows then buckling floors to molding carpet had to be replaced twice only after I FREAKED OUT after I got a sinus and ear infection from sleeping in my mold breeding bedroom and then I was forced to sleep on my couch for a month and the property manager kept blowing me off . Both the owner and manager shared an office and the manager claimed the owner knew of all the problems and any time manager didn't want to fix or handle, she'd say she didn't think owner would go for it . Meanwhile he didn't know about any of it. But then I was problem free for about 3 months and had been living in the building for a total of 4 years I still was not programed in the directory so I asked manager and she claimed she would handle and of course did not. One Sat. i made a mistake and submitted my rent online twice and needed it to be fixed so I was not charged twice and approved the owner that afternoon as I saw him entering the office, he looked as if he was not listening to me and told me to EMAIL manager and she would fix. So I went right in and emailed her and texted to be safe . I did not get a reply from her until Tues. and she claimed to have handle it. I took her word considering i spoke with owner and sent a detailed text and email. Wednesday my bank notified me about my over drawn account and all those lovely fees. I went down to the office to see why this happened and the manager told me she was confused and just forwarded the email to her accounting department. By the way there is no accounting department! I was so upset and wanted answers. I went into the office and as I came in the manager looked up and mumbled something under her breath. I knew she was mumbling about me and asked her what she said in a stern voice and the owner FREAKED ON ME. Disrespecting me in front of an office full of women cursing and yelling and saying that I shouldn't ask him to do anything and that if I see him to just pretend I didn't. Oh ok so another human being makes a mistake as we are human right, and as a fellow human who had the power to help fix the problem he did not and passed the buck , to a chimp! And I was chastised and made to feel as if I was wrong and he brought up times in the first year me being late with rent when I lost my job and how he worked with me. BULLSHIT ! When you are late you pay a fee and I did. Never worked with me on anything . There has been flea outbreaks two years In a row and could you imagine you get fleas and don't have a pet, well it happened. and most recently a fly and maggot outbreak due to them not paying waste bills and also was a stack of water service notices in building door about getting shut off. This apartment is in a great neighborhood and school district. However, the owners did not take care of the apartment grounds. The parking lot his filled with trash and abandoned cars. The heat and hot water was constantly broken for days at a time. Also, There are grown men getting high all the time in the parking lot and rear hallway entrance. DO NOT! I could sit here ALL DAY. I don't know where to begin. Living here is the WORST decision we have ever made. To be frank, we are dealing with cockroaches, an absentee manager, and TERRIBLE communication with management. They say they are going to fix things, but they are LYING, always. When we moved in, it was CLEAR that the place had not been cleaned AT ALL. There was dust/hair in all the baseboards, 100s of beer bottle caps under the stove and other miscellaneous items (tools in the baseboard heaters). We waited for 5 months to get a screen put in our 3rd floor window. We had a gap in our room between the wall and the floor (discovered when a mouse crawled out of it) that was about 8" wide that finally got fixed after a few months and A LOT of coaxing. Balconies are falling apart and there is no one to take packages, although that is one of their "selling points." BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! We've lived here for almost a year and water has been shut off to the whole building once (I asked the previous property manager about it and she lied straight to my face saying she thought a "water main burst!") and we have gotten MULTIPLE shut off notices since. This is due to the management not paying the water bill which is included in our rent. Its a MESS. The only thing I am thankful for to these people is that they have free doggie bags to clean up after your pet. Literally...that's about it! Let this place be your LAST RESORT. The price looks good, but all of the bad reviews you see about this place are true. Heed their warnings! We are counting down the days until we are out of here. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. TERRIBLE rodent infestation. Several times where my husband and our young kids were without heat AND hot water this winter. Mouse poop is everywhere! It was on our clothes, on our counters. Mice even chewed threw neighbors expensive coats and purses. Constant leaks in ceilings and floors, and mold in bathrooms. Landlord and management company is a joke. They are cheap and don't care about the tenants at all. They have one maintenance guy who they send out for everything weeks after you notify them of a problem. One guy for plumbing issues, heating issues, exterminator-related problems. They are rude and nasty to deal with. The owner is a complete slumlord. Please avoid the struggle. We wish we would have. read more

I currently live in the building and couldn't be happier. The management company is very kind and helpful and the repairs are always completed within 24 hours. With the latest snow we got, the parking lot was taken care of quickly and neatly. I hope to continue to have wonderful experiences here as I plan to stay as long as they will have me! read more
