Do not let the nice decor fool you, This place is awful!This was without a doubt THE WORST manicure I have ever received. The nail technician seemed really nice when I first sat down, super chatty and friendly. It wasn't until I turned down his $10 upsell of "dip" polish that his mood changed. I simply wanted a gel manicure, doesn't get any simpler than that but I was there for an hour (i walked in with NOTHING on my nails to begin with). After he finished the last coat of white he put my nails into the UV light for the polish to set. When he went to go do the clear top coat I noticed the gel on my thumb was wrinkly and my pointer finger was only half painted. So I asked if he could just re-do my thumb nail and just throw another coat on the pointer finger. Well, it seems that was a real inconvenience for him. He sat there huffing and puffing and told me the thumb wrinkled because I didn't leave my thumb in long enough (even though he has it on the timer). I can't even give 1 star. The nails were horrible. I wanted all the gel overlay taken off and he did not do that. He barley soaked my nails at all to cut cuticles. The shape of the nails was , I just don't even know how to explain it. I even went back in and complained and they basically told me that if they took all the gel off my nails would be weak. The issue with that is that it was not their choice to decide wether to take it all off or not it was my decisions. Usually I get a second coat of all polish and I did not get that either. No initial clear before the actual polish. Cost me 50 dollars and I had to go into the dollar store to buy emory boards to reshape the nails. so sick of going into places that supposedly have training for what they do and not coming out pleased at all. Rush job. What they did was horrible and while I was telling them the problem the guy tried to blame me and said I shaped the nails on one hand myself. Got a gel manicure and my nails chipped after 3 days and by 6 days 3 nails had broken! This is not the first time that this has happened but I kept going back because it's close and convenient to me. I would never return to this salon. Yesterday I went in for a pedicure, and specifically asked if I could use my gift card (It was expired as I had not felt comfortable getting a pedicure until vaccinated.) The woman assured me THREE times that I could use the gift card, and I even upgraded the service so that I was spending some extra money (not just the gift card). When I went to pay, I was then told the gift card had expired and it couldn't be used. Considering there was a client who repeatedly took her mask off to talk to her friend while I was there, my rationale for not using these services during a pandemic were justified. The woman at the register would not budge, and insisted I owed for my service. In the end, I paid, and let her know I would never return. Had I not asked prior to the service, I would totally understand, but considering that their employee had looked at it and said it was ok, and then after the service to be told no is terrible customer service. read more

I sincerely did not have a Yelp account before this I only opened up Yelp to leave the review that they deserve. By far the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever received out of 10 fingers six of them are bleeding. Then when I asked is this really what you call a manicure because my nails look like they had never been buffed and just bleeding at the cuticles from their pathetic cuticle push back and trim job. Then on top of it they don't even want to apologize or even offer a credit after I had paid for everything. Now I'm not saying every member of the staff is as glorious as the owners; however, if you have a problem with the services provided, I have witnessed both Michael and Tammy taking care of customers via discounted services. This is the worst nail salon in ocean county!! I went for the first time and never EVER again! The girl who did my nails did such a crappy job! My nails looked clumpy, all different in shape, had a slope pointing up! When I went back the next morning about 14 hrs later and asked for her to fix them she said there was nothing wrong and that it was my own nails! No it was the way she put them on! I had to go to another salon to have my nails fixed as best they could do with what she did. I paid $38 dollars for a set of nails and had to spend another $15 at another salon to have them fixed! Went to this salon a few times due to my other salon always being busy for a walk in. At first I walked in and enjoyed that they had a large color gel section to choose from. First two times I had my films done and a pedicure done they looked good no complaints. Staff was rude but completely ignored the ignorance. Just a few weeks ago I stopped by for a fill and gel pedicure once again this time it was absolute horror. During my pedicure an older woman doing my pedicure and removing the gel off from the last time did not let the acetone sit long along so she started just filing it off and ripping the skin off my toes. Very very painful experience, pedicure wasn't even relaxing I was in more pain than anything. I was ready for my gel fill when I asked the technician if she could do my nails in a nice glitter pink she barked at me and told me to go get up and find it myself, now my regular nail salon I could show them a picture and they come right back with what I exactly want but not here. I went over to the table where the frames with the colors are and I lifted up one of the frames and a baby cockroach was crawling on the one frame. After that I refused to have my nails done at all. I paid for my pedicure and walked out. Left with infections on my toes due to the woman scrapping my cuticles off. Never will be back here again I give this place a zero star and health department needs to come sweep this place clean! read more

My first experience with Glitzy was a pedicure about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. The pedicure was far below quality with color running onto the skin and nails cut uneven, ragged or far too short. The male tech seemed irritated by my very presence. He chuckled when I requested red polish (?), and huffed and muttered aloud with visible disdain when he accidentally touched an adjacent nail which wasn't yet dry. I could go on, but in a nutshell it was an unsatisfactory and demeaning experience. But since I live locally and it is a pretty salon, a few months later I decided that maybe this was simply a one time occurrence and I shouldn't judge the entire shop based on one person's poor performance. i scheduled a manicure there and request one of the female techs. During this appointment the manicurist caused not one, but two of my fingertips to bleed while she continued to clip away cuticles that didn't exist. After a few minutes (I couldn't believe this), I said, "Are you going to put something on that?" after which I was instructed to go wash my hands at the sink with soap. Painful as it was, I did it for fear of infection. Didn't work however; my fingertips were incredibly sore and swollen for three weeks at least. Only antibiotic first aid cream helped them to finally heal. Find another place to get your mani/pedi. read more

Went with a friend for pedicures. The nail techs never spoke to us other than to try to sell gel or waxing. And even tyyhen they were RUDE. I had to ask for another coat as mine was missing a spot. This place is really clean and they have some really talented people working there. They have a crazy amount of options. Not just in colors but in types too! They have ones that change colors depending on the temperature and something called "Cat Eye" that has a really cool iridescent affect. That being said, the owners can be a little obnoxious so just avoid them, the rest of the staff are really nice. read more

I've been going to this salon for about a year...never was anything spectacular but I liked going there. Around Christmas I started going to Logan and she gives the best gel mani's/pedi's in Toms River in my opinion!! She's fun to talk to and makes the whole experience great. She's so accommodating always willing to stay a little late if I have to stay later at work. I can't wait to let her do my makeup!! DO NOT GET YOUR LASHES DONE HERE! My sister, mother, and I came here for false lashes 2 weeks ago. Most of the falsies were glued to our REAL lashes, not the eye lid. So now, our actual lashes are falling out - in clumps, on their own. Personally speaking I have been in pain since getting them. They also won't come off easily, so this needs to be done extremely carefully to preserve the lashes that we have left. Their ad advertised relaxing pedicure!!!! After having an appointment and waiting 20 min in shop and 20 min in soaking cold water the pedicure itself last 15 minutes. I had a coupon so it was 15% of $25.00. For what you get this is very expensive. It was basically a nail painting. I will not under any circumstances go back there. They are all amazing at what they do and are always super friendly. It's a very busy place sometimes, so you have to understand the swiftness they use. This is honestly a very good nail salon. I have been going to Glitzy for about two years, and continue to go back. I am very picky about where I get my nails done, and this is one of the better nail salons I have found in the area. The nail techs that are there now are all very good and I have never had any major problems. The owners, Mike and Tammy, are very warm and friendly people. If you have a difficult personality (which I know some of the previous posters do), then I could see them not tolerating you- but it is their business. You can't make everyone happy. Decided to change nail salons yesterday from one i have been going to for about 6 months.. only cause there customer service wasn't so great. But I'll take there non smiling front desk person over Glitzy Nails any-day. Walked in at around 4:30pm on a Tuesday. Went in for a gel manicure and polish change on my toes. Was asked if i could wait, and i asked about how long. I was told 5-10 minutes. I waited 25-30 minutes for one of the ladies to take me , never greeted me just told me to sit at the table. I was rushed from the second she started taking my gel off to rushing me to the pedicure chair for my polish change that looks terrible (my 12 yr old could of done better). Went back to the table to have my gel manicure rushed, i asked for her to cut my nails down she filed them instead, the color coral i picked doesn't look the same on all of my nails. Every salon I've been too after they are done massages your hand with lotion as soon as they are done. As my last hand came out from the light she said all done. I honestly couldn't believe it. We paying customers come in there to get relaxation and to walk out being satisfied with what we just paid for. Also there prices are a few more dollars then the norm. I have been to my share of nail salons, and have been going for more than 20 years. I went to Glity Nails a handful of times because I was looking for a good place close to my home. I gave them a fair shot. Unfortunately, this is not the place. First of all, they are pricier than other salons for the same exact services. I was willing to fork over the extra bucks if the services were worth it, but that is not the case here. They use poor products for gel sets, and the operator who did my fill left me with thick, bumpy, bright pink nails. A French manicure should not be bright pink. I decided to forego the gel fills there, but would go for pedicures. I went a few times only, as it was more expensive than other salons, and they were constantly trying to talk me into a "spa pedicure". Whatever. HOWEVER, I visited Glitzy Nails for the last time about a week ago. I was assigned to an operator I did not recognize, and who seemed more interested in her cell phone than in my pedicure. Only a few minutes into it, she grabbed a piece of skin on my big toe with her clippers and pulled it down as hard as she could - causing me to actually sit straight up and yelp (no pun intended). I may not be a nail technician, but I have had enough pedicures to know that this is NOT what you do to a customer. I asked her to please stop cutting - she continued. She cut me again, and I begged her to stop, to end the pedicure, just paint my toenails and I would pay her and walk out. This is when the other employees finally took notice and began to cluster. Instead of stopping, she slapped some gel on my leg to do the 'massage' part. At this point I made my exit. I wiped off my leg and went to the register - I said I would pay for a portion of the service. After jerking me around and trying to charge me full boat (the salon had two other customers and some tumbleweeds blowing through - I did not take the chair from anyone), I paid for half the service and took my sore, bleeding toe out of there - as the "manager" or whatever she was - waved me out and said derogatory things to me. Great experience....not. I was sore for a week. Beautiful looking place, horrendous customer service. Avoid at all costs. read more

I agree about the 1 star, this place doesn't even deserve that! I NEVER write reviews. In the past I have read them specific to the service I was looking for and thought the reviewers were way too critical and fussy. But believe me, the decor is the only thing going for this place! Once I declined the spa pedicure for an extra $10, my technician's attitude changed. The conversation between him and the other technician (in their language) sounded mean (Seinfeld episode!).After my pedi, the male technician offered me no help getting out of the chair with my arms full (coat, pocketbook, scarf etc) I had the disposable flip flops on slipped on a puddle of water. I didn't fall thank God!He wouldn't give me the color I picked for my main. I don't know why, so I had to choose another color. Overall I felt like I was a bother to him.
