I have been coming to this nail salon for about a year and a half now and I've always left more than happy. Last Tuesday I came in and got a spa pedicure from Ana (who I get my toes done by every time) and requested black gel polish for my toes to match my nails. Unfortunately, when I got home and was in the sun, I realized that the color on my toes was in fact, a navy blue instead of black. When I called the following Monday and spoke to Peter, I had explained to him that I didn't realize until I got outside in the sun that the color was navy blue instead of black as well as the gel on my toenails had already been peeling and chipping. He said absolutely come in and we will fix all of that for you. I just went in about half an hour ago and tried to explain this to one of the technicians, Suzie. As a reference, I had been going to Suzie for my nails for about 6 to 10 months, until she left for maternity leave. I've always left incredibly happy and she was always very friendly. This was now the third time I've been there since she has returned from maternity leave and she has been incredibly rude to me (talking about me to another technician and talking to me with a lot of attitude). After she fixed the big toe that you can clearly see in the picture is the color black, I asked her can you please fix the other toes to match this one. She had said fix all of the toenails? I answered, yes because the color that's on my big toe is now not matching the rest of the color on my other toes. I reminded her that I had spoke to Peter and he said I could come in and that it would get fixed. She said we don't have a navy blue color like this. Out of frustration and not wanting to start an argument while having my one year-old with me, I said OK thanks and left. I'm not really sure why this technician treats me this way but the last three times I've been there she has been incredibly rude to me. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to the salon which really saddens me because I was always very very happy with the service and the interaction with the technicians! read more

Maria did EXACTLY what I wanted and she was so fast! I got there at 3pm for a fill, fix, and pedicure- I was out by 4:15! Not only was she quick but she pays attention to detail. I'm only knocking a star off the review because the other staff (Not Maria, she was the only one to smile and greet me) was so rude. I walked in and was stared at by staff and not greeted once! Mind you I called and asked if I could come in at that time and they happily said "of course see you then." When I walked in Not one person said hello, not one person asked me what I wanted, and there was at least 5 workers by the door on their phones looking at me side ways. I made an appointment online for a one hour service for a pedicure. I haven't gotten one in a few months so I knew I needed the extra time, especially as I've been running a lot lately and need extra attention on my heels. When I walked in, the salon was packed and decorated very nicely. I was immediately greeted at the door and was asked what I needed, I told the man up front I made an appointment for a pedicure and he sat me down right away. I waited in the chair about 10 minutes before my technician came to start working, that wasn't a problem. However, once she started, I could tell she wasn't really trying. Everything felt very rushed and like not much thought was put into it. The foot scrub lasted a total of 10 seconds, and I left with my feet in the same condition I came in with. My technician was talking to another technician who sat in the chair next to me the whole time, and my tech was pointing to my heels and talking about me to her. I felt very uncomfortable. After about 25 minutes she was already painting my toes. I asked for white, (i think the easiest request) and walked out with this terrible streaky light gray color, that makes my nails look dingy. I'm very upset because the salon had good vibes, but these two technicians ruined it completely for me. I'm also confused by the price, because I got the basic pedicure (given the service I received, not requested) which the sign next to the chair says $35, +$2 for gel, but was charged $45. read more

I had a wonderful experience at NJ nails! After reading all the reviews on nail salons in my area, I decided to try this one. I called for an appointment, and was accommodated at the time I selected. The salon was very busy but Peter who was working closet to the door, greeted me like a long lost friend. The warmth that the employees extended was genuine and sincere. Henry did my nails and pedicure to perfection. I would actually choose anyone in the salon if need be. I definitely would recommend to make an appointment and pay with cash since there is a slightly higher fee due to the business paying a processing fee. I overheard a few customers asking if the prices were raised, but these are the times folks! We are coming out of a pandemic and prices are higher on everything. With quality comes quantity. I have been to a couple of places in Toms River and they were all sub standard. I walked out disappointed and my nails chipped by the 2nd day- NJ image is hands down the best nail salon in town. Everyone who works there is awesome and as soon as you walk in they greet you and make you feel welcomed . The work is amazing. I highly recommend the gel overlay, it last for 3-4 weeks easily. I came in to get a gel full set, the nail tech did a horrible job, when I pointed out that there were gaps in my nails, my nail length on my left hand didn't match with my nails on my right hand, my nails polish was bumpy, and my nail was also lifting at the cuticle base, the nail tech made it seem like the problems didn't exist. The nail tech gaslighted the situation to avoid responsibility by immediately becoming rude obnoxious and belligerent. This nail salon is the best nail salon I've ever been to hands down. And I've been to nail salons all over the country. This particular location I've been going to since 1996. First I want to say everyone that works in this salon is not only great at nails but they are all really good people. Now on to the nails, every time I've had my nails done at this salon they look great for at least two weeks. Their gel tops are my favorite! I highly recommend splurging. I've been picking my nails since I was about 8 (I am 25) they were short and very damaged. I always felt judged going into nail salons for this, however they made me like we were in this journey together! My nails are still in a process but every time I go they turn out looking great. All the nails techs are pleasant and know what they're doing in a clean environment. They will do anything you ask at a reasonable price! I never wait more than ten or fifteen minutes without an appointment and with one am taken almost immediately. This is the best nail salon I have ever been to, hands down!! The staff is always so wonderful and produces outstanding work. Henry did my nails yesterday (pedicure, fill in, and a repair) and did an exceptional job. They look better than I could ever imagine and I've received tons of compliments. Today, one of my acrylics snapped in half (100% my fault). I came in and Henry replaced/reshaped the broken acrylic perfectly and in only a matter of minutes. I can't give him enough kudos for how well he took care of me during both visits. You can tell he takes his work seriously and is willing to go above and beyond for his clients. Everyone is so friendly and they go out of their way to accommodate you no matter how busy they are. I realized it's beneficial to make appointments because they get crazy busy! I've been here 3 times now and Quinn is my go to girl. She is very attentive and gentle, being careful not to cut me. I've always gotten cut by careless techs in the past because I have very small nail beds. She is able to replicate any design I ask for and the prices are insanely reasonable! I was questioning whether or not to write a review counteracting the one that was written about me. I take my work very seriously and try to be as professional as I can be...ALWAYS. But when a bad review comes up about me I need to defend my position. I have been doing nails and hair since I'm 17 years old with a reputable name for excellence in the community. I have dabbled in eyelash extensions since 2013. Never have I ever had anyone that complained about my work. Or publicly anyway. I did Joelle's eyelashes before a wedding that she was attending in Florida. That's pretty much the only truth to this story. After I did them I never heard from her again til almost 2 months later. There was NO phone call from Florida stating that she had an issue with my work. Upon her return she made (3) appointments that she did not show up for. When she finally decided to stroll in an hour late for the 4th appointment she had eyeliner on yes, but she also had caked on mascara. Anyone who comes in for eyelashes be it for the initial visit or Maintance knows that you need to come in makeup free. I don't want to extensively put down anyone but I probably should have know better being there were many red flags here. I could not and would not touch up someone else's work, especially when I couldn't even see what needed to be touched up. I have no problem accommodating any of my clients. Joelle was irate and yelling because she didn't get her way. My bosses backed up my decision and I believe that's what made it worse. If there was an issue with her eyelashes or her nails she should have handled this in a different matter we would have been happy to accommodate her. My bosses and myself take pride in our business. I used to come here all the time, I would always go to henry because he really asked me how I liked my nails as we were going. Next time I came I got sat down and another guy started my nails and was rushing and told me to put my nails under the lamp and walked out and went on the phone. I waited for 10 maybe even 15 minutes until someone else started to help. My nails were uneven and sloppy. I figured I'd come back because it was that type of day. And I hate to complain. Then I came back today and it was kind of busy. I understand and waited my time. I work in a customer service place and understand how crazy it gets, but I still try to give my best service only. I got seated and she started doing my nails and five minutes later I got switched to the same guy last time. He was rushing and didn't even check if the nails were even. Not even asking me if I liked the shape. On every nail the shape is different and the thickness is different too. I was upset and still am because everyone works hard for their money and I wasted money on bad nails and service. I told the lady that one nail was badly crooked because the same guy who told me to put my nails under the lamp did it againand ran out to go on his phone. She was extremely kind and helped file the nails but they were already messed up. One nail was thinner than the other and the slight coffin was made into a different shape. I am upset at the service. He was filing my nails very roughly but I didn't want to upset him so I let it happen. It was all in a rush. The lady next to me was asked if she liked her shape and if the nails looked good to her and I was never asked once. My nails look awful and I won't be returning because this is the second time they've rushed and made me feel upset at my nails. It is not fair how one customer gets great service while I have someone start and another take on my nails then leave again without even asking if I liked them. I didn't even know who to tip. They did not even take 25 minutes on my nails... I wanted to treat myself but this is embarrassing. I never leave reviews but this very much upsets me how acrylic is still bunched under my nail and gel is on my bottom finger. If I could give less than one star I would. I walked in one time and had Peter do my nails and he was absolutely amazing, well not this time. I walked in to NJ Image Nails on Tuesday and I had my nails done by the nail tech who sits in the first station on the left, a man who seemed to be really upset for some reason because of the way he was throwing my hands around. he filled my nails and then polished them and I wanted them finished with a holographic rub.. which they have drawers full of different finishes. Anyone who has ever gotten anything like this done knows that there is a sponge or something that is used to apply the powder to give it the finish, The man who was doing my nails argued with me that that was the way that he had to do it and there was no other way for him to do it other than using his finger nothing was transferring onto my finger and the color I had chosen was no longer going to look the way I wanted it to look. Now I need to have my polish removed and another girl comes over and removes my polish because my nail tech now leaves to go get his child. She tries very hard and is very nice to me even though I'm very upset and I explain to her I'm very upset because of the way that he was acting so she assures me that if I come back on Friday to see Peter. I just walked in and he asked me could he help me and I said yes I would like to wait for him and he told me that that was not possible and that his employee who sits at the first station to his left would take care of me. I tried to explain to her what happened on Tuesday and she was very short with me cutting me off telling me that if my nail tech told me that it wouldn't stick to my nail then it's not going to stick to my nails and proceeded to pull out the powder and rub it onto my already finished nail. I explain to her that that's never going to work and she says exactly it's not going to work, not to mention multiple nails on my hands are completely crooked. She continues to get more and more aggravated with me while i'm explaining how upset I was the last time I was here. She then asks how much I paid for my nails grab some money out of the register and throws it at me. At this point I'm completely shocked because I've never been treated like this in my entire life at a nail salon and I'm completely embarrassed because there is at least three people in the waiting room and at least three people getting their nails or toes done. I call back and ask to speak to Peter, He gets on the phone and basically tells me that's what it is and I'll find another nail salon I'll be fine. read more

I was NOT having it after I just had my session with Jesus at church. Jesus would not approve after his birthday was just 4 days ago. The nails were shorter than expected but sharp as I intended. The communication was not good. Nails too bulky and round. Nails also points up, had to file it myself when I got home. Too rough on feet. Long story short, Brittney not happy. In a hurry? They'll do their best to help you out. Didn't make an appointment? They'll fit you in. Want something special on your nails? Theres someone there that can help you out. The owners are so kind and friendly and treat every customer with respect and kindness. And sometimes the salon is just crazy busy but they do their best to fit everyone in in a timely fashion.
